Geraint Thomas (Team Sky) win a controversed Alpe d'Huez stage, while wearing the yellow jersey. The Team Sky rider crossing the line ahead of Tom Dumoulin (Sunweb) in second, Romain Bardet (AG2R La Mondiale) in third, his teammate Chris Froome in fourth and Mikel Landa (Movistar) fifth. Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) made a massive comeback after crashing with 4km to go, finishing with Primoz Roglic (LottoNl-Jumbo) 13 seconds down.
