A year ago I was trying to end my life. I didn't see a future for myself as a trans femme. I lost sight of all that made me who I am.

Today I'm living my true self more fully every day. But I see the way that our community is being forced violently back into the closet and I cannot accept it.

A year ago I was ready to die. This year I am ready to fight for my right to live and exist just like anyone else. And for every trans person in this country who is scared of what's here and what's to come.

The anti trans hate machine can't win. It never has. But if I do one day die because of this transphobia, I will bring down as much of the machinery of anti trans hate as I possibly fucking can before that happens.
