Anneke looked at her new home with uncertainty. She missed the sun but the expansive green was reminiscent of Frisia. It was hillier here by a lot and since she had been in the Kingdom of Scotland it appeared to always look like it was about to rain. Still, she remained hopeful that this new beginning would yield better results than the last.

At least this time her siblings and friends would all get to stay with her. Looking around her at the unfamiliar surroundings, she began to regret not asking one of them to accompany her. She glanced around praying for anyone she would recognize but found none. Finding the closest person, she approached them. “Pardon me, could you please point me to the quickest way back to the castle?”

A long day meant thinking about even attempting to cook tonight was out of the question. And so, as Shaun unlocked the apartment door and let himself in, he called out, “I brought food,” with no regard as to whether Logan was actually home or not. He shoved the door closed again a moment later, dropping the bag of Chinese food into the kitchen counter and immediately heading for the refrigerator to pull out a beer.

“Tell me again why I allow my lovely little niece to live in such a dreadfully boring town,” the blonde huffed as she plopped down on the bench outside of The Mystic Grill. “How that girl hasn’t died of boredom yet is beyond me.”

The city looked as if a riot had swept through the streets—trash littered the sidewalks, people were missing, people were dead. She had heard of the destruction that had entangled this city since day one, but it was different to see it, to feel it. While everyone was busy picking up the pieces, what was left of them, Susan found herself picking up a stray newspaper. The city was devoid of all electricity, all water, all save for the mutant haven; District X. That was the place to be, it seemed, so she headed that, seemingly as a civilian.

There were throngs of people, all disoriented and angry—she told herself not to stop despite the obvious yearning for help, but her heart went out to them. Stepping to the nearest person, the one who looked to be the most coherent and capable, and pulled her growing hair back into a low ponytail. “How can I help?”

Really- She hadn’t been around this town for a while, having left for what seemed like forever. Really though, considering the time she’s spent alive it was really nothing. Letting her dog, Coppers, leash off of him in the park shouldn’t have been a big deal. 

As fate would have it though, Copper ran straight to some guy- trying to get the stranger to play with him.

olyssia strode into the university, handbag attached to her arm, her hair curled just right. she hoped the stares she received were simply because she was being recognised ( she had many pictures online, after all ) and not because of anything less than honourable. she wouldn’t stand for that.

it was only when she had passed the entrance and gone down the hall that she didn’t know where she was going, and she hadn’t picked up a map. time to find a guide. she approached the closest person and said in the politest voice she could muster, “excuse me, could you please direct me to where the art classrooms are?”

kai fluttered nervously in front of keiran’s dorm room. he’d made sure to fly there rather than walk so she wouldn’t hear his footsteps, just in case he chickened out ( which was entirely possible ). still, he told himself that this was his sister, and that they would need to talk sometime, so he took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

“...sounds like the party’s already started,” talon said as he led aria to the ballroom’s entrance. he wasn’t really one for formal parties, even if he’d been to several before. they were just uncomfortable and stuffy. but he would try, for aria’s sake.
