You may disagree but I think Duke has the absolute hardest job out of all of the Bat's because not only does he have a longer shift (12-15 hours vs 9 hours) but he has to do it by himself & is open to public scrutiny the same way Spider-Man is meaning he is gonna have to deal with racist cops & has his very of JJJ. The upsides is that he is the most beloved Bat by the people of Gotham (yes more beloved than Batman, Robin & Nightwing)

Cryptid Batfam is really fun, but I feel like everyone’s missing out on Cryptid versions of the batfam’s lovers. You don’t understand, I need the their lovers to be worse. I need the goons of Gotham to be afraid of the shadows and to be just as afraid of what casts the shadows.

A snippet for chapter six of “the champion of magic? You mean my son?” because I do feel bad about that long wait for chapter 5-

“I’d also like you to speak to Batman.” Jason said.

The feeling of his heart in his throat wasn’t a new one. The sting of anxiety was something of a common occurrence. It didn’t mean it was a pleasant one. “Why would I do that?”

“He’s been trying to throw a therapist at me for years, which, pot meet kettle, but the point is, he’ll know of someone for you to talk to.” The hand that reaches for Billy’s shoulder was somehow both firm and gentle. He could tell it was meant to be comforting, and it almost was, but he felt a sense of eversion to the touch. “The Justice League will also cover the cost. Given that you’re homeless I doubt you’ve got health insurance.”

“Right,” Billy nodded, “therapy. Cool.” A pause fell between them, and the hand dropped from Billy’s shoulder. “You’re not gonna tell him? About me I mean.”

Jason looked as if he wanted to laugh, but there was somehow no amusement in his expression. His words, although he clearly tried to hide it, were tinged bitter. “I have no reason to tell him anything about me, much less his coworkers.”

“Isn't Batman your dad? You said he was your dad”

Jason looked confused. “Bruce Wayne is my dad.”

“Bruce..” That gave him pause, his memory wasn’t failing him, he knew Jason had said Batman was his dad. Was he gaslighting Billy? Badly mind you, if he was. unless of course-

“Don’t think about it too hard.”

“Oh my god.” Billy gasped, finally looking back at Jason. “Is Bruce Wayne dating Batman?”
