In honor of the new mutuals this blog has found, a new bat has been unlocked!

NEW BAT UNLOCKED: THE HAMMER-HEADED BAT!
This species of African fruit bat is known for its comedically large snoot. It is Africa’s largest known bat with a whopping wingspan (at largest) of 38 inches, with males usually being much larger than females. They roost in small colonies of 5 to 10 other bats and enjoy the wetter portion of Africa’s tropical swamps and mangrove trees. As one might be led to expect from a creature with such a strange nose, this bat makes a series of honking noises! Their diet consists of tropical exotic fruits like guava, mangos, and figs.
Today’s spotlighted bat conservation is Batcon! Batcon (AKA Bat Conservation International) is a collaborative and widespread operation to help spread correct information and preserve our bat friends from extinction, no matter the species. It was founded in 1982 and has since grown to be recognized around the globe as one of the most well-informed and results-oriented conservations!

This post is okay to reblog, if you’d like to do so!

I (symbolically) adopted a bat!! A Mexican free-tailed bat to be exact! And this is the adorable plushie and adoption cert/fact sheet I received!
It is so cute and I’m so happy about it 😊
Lovely city, looks like there’s plenty of ancestral soil here 🤔 #BatCon
A good friend of ours once said that the internet is one of the best ways to drain people’s energy… so we signed up to TikTok 👩🏻🦲
Finally, I got this stupid thing off without damaging it. #ComicConAsia2018 is the second comic convention I attended, the first was #BatCon2017 and wow let me tell you #BatCon was light years better than whatever it was I went to earlier. I mean, yeah, sure I got my first signed comic book and got the print I was looking for but other than that, I found it lacking in giving of the comic book geek vibe. Like, why the hell was beer being openly sold? Kinda glad Stan Lee didn’t push thru with his appearance. This was embarrasing. It’s a bonus that there’s a VR Simulation where you can punch the hell out of that idiot boxing senator.

Happy kid, indeed. Feasted on Bat stuff and those that roll with it. #BatCon #DC #BatMan #Batcon2017 #BatConPH
