batman #21 (1944): the three eccentrics
Lol throw back to that time Batman got drugged and this happened
I wouldn’t feel too bad Dick he wouldn’t have hesitated to hit you. (Ouch sorry golden age batdad was actually a good dad that was uncalled for)
Dick is like ten and already at it with the self sacrificing bullshit
Look at em being all cute
Also earlier in the issue-
So now all I want is Bruce’s kids riding around on his shoulders because that man is tall
(Batman vol 1 #21)
It all started even befor Joker and Batman appeared. Even befor Batman and Joker there were just Bruce and Red Hood Leader. But their dynamic was already like this... All these “I might not know his name, but I know him well enough”.
Love this story.
I am so fucking upset and angry about this. Saturn Girl’s been turned into a goddamn plot device, and it’s a rehash of what they did with Starboy by making him schizophrenic in “Justice Society.” Only where Thom had agency and was “Oh look he’s crazy so he’s funny like Deadpool!” Imra is terrified and a nervous wreck as she has to be restrained while screaming vague warnings no one will hear or understand. This is what she’s been reduced to. The woman who faced down Darkseid for the sake of her family. This.
Fuck Johns. Fuck King. Fuck Batman. Fuck Barry Allen. Fuck Watchmen. Fuck Rebirth.
