batman #81
Made this to celebrate Batman’s 81st.
So Batman #81 makes no sense. Well, NONE of this run makes any sense, but this is one of those issues where King tries to explain all the not-sense-making and it just makes my head hurt.
Batman planned this ALL ALONG. Wow. So Batman planned....for Bane to take over the city and for him to go on vacation on a beach with Catwoman while Gotham was overrun with villains? ....why?
Also Joker has been Clayface ALL ALONG. But...why? How did that...help anyone? And why, oh god, WHY didn’t you go with the very obvious choice of: ALFRED has been Clayface all along?? It would explain why his sales-baity “death” was faked and actually puts Clayface in a strategic place to, idk, do something.
Also, Batman knew Gotham Girl was on that venom ALL ALONG. So...why? Didn’t he ever do anything about it when he was mentoring her?
And don’t get me started with the whole “he communicated this entire convoluted plan to the Batfam by punching Tim in the face” thing because I already feel like I’m having a stroke.
I read once that he doesn’t outline because “what he forgets wasn’t worth remembering in the first place.” And that explains so much.

Tom King
this is the funniest thing damian has ever said
oh bruce...
Batman 81
Catwoman: So you didn't hit your kid?
Batman: I would never!
Batman: I only created a system of communication based entirely on me punching them in the face!
Tom King: *chuckles* I'm so clever.
