The blockbuster sequels and remakes at the end of the 80s are Aliens (1986-5), Beverly Hills Cop II (1987-1), The Untouchables (1987-5), Dragnet (1987-8), Crocodile Dundee II (1988-4), Batman (1989-1), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989-2), Lethal Weapon 2 (1989-3), Back to the Future Part III (1989-6), Ghostbusters II (1989-7).
It’s interesting that all the posters use the Roman numeral II instead of the number 2, except for Lethal Weapon 2. Three Men and a Baby (1987-4 and 1988-6) is included as it is a remake of a 1985 French film that translates as Three Men and a Cradle. The 1987-88 American blockbuster produced a sequel of its own, Three Men and a Little Lady, but it was not a blockbuster.
