Thanks to all who attended, It was such a pleasure to connect and come together despite the difficult times. For me the work of @bbfacollective truly embodies the spirit of Négritude Négritude at its conception was a movement during the 1930’s aimed at cultivating "Black consciousness" across Africa and its diaspora. Négritude intellectuals disavowed colonialism and argued for the importance of a Pan-African sense of being among people of African descent worldwide. They believed in art as a form of ‘revolt’. In these current times, through our art the @bbfacollective continue to address issues of historic legacy, activism and philosophies in a postmodern world 'Négritude Reembodied', @hoxton253_artprojectspace featuring the Black British Female Artist Collective: Adelaide Damoah, Ayesha Feisal and Enam Gbewonyo @adelaidedamoah @ayeshasarthouse @enamgd produced by and co-curated with Halime Özdemir @hali_oz 🙏 Thank you @hoxton253_artprojectspace Some moments from the show/ private view 📸 @mirko.boffelli.photography #bbfa #negritude #blackhistorymonth #blm #hoxton #ayeshafeisal #ayeshasarthouse #blackbritishart #artexhibition #curator #artcollector https://www.instagram.com/p/CHAHQEugKpN/?igshid=18f7jjrxcyjvp
