The Bennetts are a matriarchal bloodline of dominant and influential mages. They all descend from Samanya who lived during late Prehistoric era. Samanya was a stalwart warrior who would later become an obscure figure in mage history. The one thing she is remembered for is she made werewolves via healing mishap. Later Qetsiyah, creator of the Perfect Immortality Spell, the Cure and the Other Side would be born. The Bennetts are unique in the fact they are not a coven though they are many. Creators of many powerful talismans. Have been the rulers of the Mystic Falls domain since escaping the Salem Witch Trials and settling there. Bonnie Bennett is the last in line to rule the Mystic Falls domain when she turns eighteen.
For those who canât read the small print. I apologize about that.

Bonnie Bennett Headcanons Week
đą Attention all Bonnie Bennett fans, I'm proud to present a week of headcanons about our favorite witch.
From November 14th until November 20th we will be sharing out headcanons about Bonnie with a different theme for each day, a theme you all voted on. Please note, I did combine some of the themes because they were too similar to have separate days with, so instead of a top 7 it ended up being more of a top 10.
Without further ado the winning themes for the week (in no particular order) are:
November 14th: Magic
November 15th: College
November 16th: Childhood/Family/Ancestors
November 17th: Tattoos
November 18th: Sexuality
November 19th: Hair
November 20th: Careers/Hobbies
You may interpret these themes however you like and make any type of post (metas, gifsets, moodboards, etc.) that your heart desires about them. There is also no limit to how many posts you can make per theme. Let your imagination run wild!
The only requirement I do have is that you tag it #BBHCweek so I we can find your posts and reblog it. Also @ me if you have trouble getting it visible in the tag, we all know how tumblr dysfunctions.
Anyway hope to see you all then and let's collectively piss off Plec by showing her how you write a major character đ. Have fun!
headcanon: bonnie had always been a really good dancer. she especially loved ballet. she took classes until seventh grade when she broke her leg. after her leg healed she didnât get back into it but as an adult she still dances from time to time.
description: i wrote a lil ficlet about bonnie dancing. it takes place when sheâs around 11 years old so sheâs in... fifth grade? itâs also kinda centered on her relationship with grams. itâs really wholesome as well bc i was in that kinda mood. enjoy!
Bonnieâs shoulders slouched noticeably as she stepped out of the dance room to get some water. This was her third class of the day and she was, for a lack of better words, pooped. The moment she was released from the prison they call school, she had to speed to the dance company right outside of town to start her three classes of the evening.Â
It was Tuesday, so her first class was tap, which always tired her out completely so that the rest of her classes were a nuisance to be in. Never choose tap first, kids.Â
Then she had modern, which she loved to watch but didnât love to be in. The shapes they made with their bodies were far too embarrassing for her to do. And at the end of the class the teacher always made them improvise with moves they learned and it was extremely awkward. Nobody wanted to be the only one really going for it. But Bonnie liked to do modern dance at home when she was alone, and sometimes she did it with Grams.
The class that she was in currently, and her most favorite, was ballet. There was something wonderful about ballet. Every move was graceful and had a meaning, it was like everybody was telling their own separate story when they danced it. But it was still uniform. She didnât have to rely on herself to make the moves like in modern, she could just go with the crowd.
Caroline and Elena used to dance with her, but both of them gave up almost immediately. Caroline detested dance because she wasnât good at it. She didnât need another thing in her life that she wasnât good at. Bonnie understood.Â
And Elena was always more of an inside girl. Her hobbies included crying and writing in her journal. Dance just wasnât for her.
So Bonnie was left alone.
That was okay, though. It was better not to have any friends in class. Less distractions.
She took a swig of her ice cold water.
Ms. Maria, the ballet teacher, called the girls back into the room to continue dancing. Bonnie straightened her shoulders as she glided back into the room.
Shelby and Sarah, two girls who were in class with her, were whispering and giggling about something.
Bonnie turned her attention to the teacher.
For the rest of class they practiced their waltzing. Madam Maria said that every move in ballet has to have purpose. You have to turn every walk into a waltz.
When class was over and Bonnie was sweaty and tired, she let out a deep sigh. She was going to have to walk home. Gramsâ house was only fifteen minutes away, but she had just worn herself out so this wouldnât be pleasant.
Suck it up, buttercup, she encouraged herself.
After taking another sip of water, putting her normal clothes on and waving goodbye to her teachers and friends, Bonnie stepped out of the studio.Â
The cold January air bit at her face and exposed hands. She walked through the parking lot quickly, but stopped in her tracks when she heard someone calling her name.
âOver here, baby!â Grams hollered.
Bonnieâs face lit up like a Christmas tree. She turned and beamed when she saw her grandmother standing on the other side of the parking lot. Grams was decked in winter clothes - she had to have been wearing at least three jackets. Bennettâs get cold easily.
Bonnie zoomed over to Grams and jumped into her warm arms. They embraced for a few more seconds before Bonnie reluctantly let go. But she still clung to her grandmother's hand.
âYou sure are happy to see me.â Grams remarked with an affectionate smirk.
âI am.â Bonnie agreed.
They walked the way back to Gramsâ house and ended the night watching Gilmore Girls and baking cookies.
A/N: Takes place during Season 5, just after Bonnie becomes the Anchor.
âArcheology and Anthropology?â Elena asked, looking over Bonnieâs shoulder.
Bonnie shifted the forms so they were out of sight but it was already too late.
âAre you sure thatâs what you want to major in?â
âWhatâs wrong with it?â
âItâs justâŠâ Elena shrugged. âIâve never heard you talk about it before.â
Bonnie sighed. âSo what have I talked about before?â
Elena frowned, thinking. When the wait started getting awkward, Bonnie turned back to her forms.
âItâs justâŠâ Elena said again, and Bonnie bit back an impatient sigh as she looked back at her friend. âI thought you would do premed like me. So we could share classes together. When you were gone-â
Dead, Bonnie thought. When I was dead. Which I still am.
â-Caroline and I split your coursework between premed and drama so that we could share you.â
Bonnieâs fingers clenched around her pen.
âI was hoping Iâd win in the end,â Elena said with a chuckle.
Bonnie smiled so hard her cheeks hurt. âThis is what I want to do. Iâve always been interested in this.â
âI didnât know that.â Elena said, frowning again. âAre you sure? Itâs only our first year, you donât have to declare a Major yet. Why not just take a few classes and see if you even like them? That way we can still share some classes together.â
âIâm sure Iâll like them,â Bonnie said, still smiling hard.
Elena didnât stop frowning. But Bonnie went back to her forms, and after a moment of silence, then a dramatic sigh, Elena left.
It might be only your first year but itâs going to be my only year. In this one thing at least, Bonnie was going to put herself first.
Nosce te ipsum (Latin: âknow thyselfâ) â Bonnie gets her first tattoo the summer she travels Europe with Damon and Ric. She learns about the maxim engraved in stone while visiting the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. It resonates so deeply that she decides to make it a permanent reminder on her left wrist.
Africa map outline with Vinca flowers â Upon returning from her exciting, whirlwind solo tour of Africa, Bonnie is home planning a long term exit strategy from the godforsaken town of Mystic Falls. In the midst of the minutia, she has an itch for more ink and memorializes her recent trip close to her heart with a delicate sternum piece.
Layered Mandalas â While attending Whitmore, Bonnie jumps at the first study abroad opportunity across India and Nepal. Along the way she learns about the various religions which use sacred geometry and it becomes her third tattoo. A combination of design and her own spell work wraps the elbow and expands to occupy one-third of her right arm.
Batik keris motif â Bonnieâs fourth tattoo is from a handsome warlock she befriends in her occult studies program. The Javanese tattoo artist/warlock bestows this hand-tapped piece to her left thigh to symbolize her heroism and mystical prowess. It is also a talisman for luck and protection.
Bonnie followed in her Gramsâ footsteps in majoring in teaching. Instead of rooming with Elena and Caroline. She rooms with Tyler and Matt since theyâre closer to the athletic department for her to train with the swim team. Due to her agility in swimming it wasnât hard for her to become the swim captain. She develops a slight addiction to gambling at parties or clubs, using her psychic abilities to fool anyone until that one time she got arrested. But, without any logical proof to hold Bonnie their wasnât a choice but to free her. Matt decided to play match maker one day for Bonnie/Tyler and it worked. In the end Bonnie graduates and begins searching for younger witches without covens to teach.
So Iâm joining in a bit late cos Iâm not really good at headcanons but I do quite enjoy looking at tattoo symbolism and working out who would have what based on what I believe their character represents.Â
Ok, so I can see Bonnie with at least two tattoos. The first is a rose. Now, rose tattoos can have different meanings depending on their colour. For instance, black rose tattoos are usually symbolic of grief and remembrance, which Bonnie sadly experienced so much of in the show. But Iâve headcanon-chosen purple because it has been used to symbolise royalty and enchantment. And i imagine Bonnie would have it over her heart.Â
Blame Lisbeth Salander for this next headcanon Iâve got. I love back tattoos. Especially wing tattoos. So, Iâm imagining Bonnie with gorgeous raven wings on her back. Ravens are complex when it comes to symbolism. Theyâre often associated with bad omens, but they also represent prophecy and insight. In many mythologies they are also viewed as a connection between our world and the world of the spirits.Â
I imagine Bonnie as someone who always loved getting those fake spray-on tattoos you can find at fairs (...that isnât just an Aussie thing, right?) as a kid, so when she was old enough to finally get one, she decided on the rose first, and then a few years later she got the wings.Â
I've had many lovers all of which have seen a different phase in my life.
First there was Tyler. We had puppy love. He was my first everything, crush, kiss, first time, and first love. But like most puppy love we didn't last. I like to think what we could have been had he not been so concerned about what his parents thought, but it doesn't matter because we were never meant to last. We were just meant to be with each other for the time we were and I have no regrets. Not every person you date or fuck is supposed to be your everything, they were just meant to be my something.
Then there was Vicki. Even I wasn't immune hurricane Vicki, but I was probably the least bitter about. I suppose that's what happens when you have no illusions of what you are to a person. For Vicki, I knew I was just right now. Something for her to do to further the rumors about her. For me she was a revelation, one I wouldn't understand until later on.
Kissing Vicki felt exactly the same as kissing Tyler. Sure, there we physical differences between the two, but that inside feeling was exactly the same. That feeling of wanting more, for it never to end until we were both raw and satisfied. I wouldn't realize until later in a conversation with Caroline that that's not how it is for everyone. That there was a difference between curiosity and what I was, gay.
Then there was Damon. With him I learned what it truly meant to hate fuck someone. To have such overwhelming feelings of hate that it comes out in weird ways, in my case, fucking Damon Salvatore. That ended quickly much to no one's surprise. Thing about hate is it dissolves into indifference pretty quickly and all that was left was contempt. Although one satisfying thing came from that, being able to reject Damon Salvatore and it actually hurt him. It seems my opinion only mattered when I was fucking him.
Then Jeremy, my best friend's little brother. I took a chance with him, a leap of faith. In a world suddenly filled with monsters he was all that made sense. I think I understood Vicki the most then because when everything feels like it's crashing down Jeremy will always be there to help you pick up the pieces. That is, until Anna.
The most confusing time in my life was when Jeremy cheated on me. It was the icing on the fucking cake after everything with Esther and my mother. I suppose that's how I ended up with Klaus, and later Professor Shane. They were older, more experienced and everything Jeremy wasn't. But again, those don't last. Nothing ever lasts out of spite. That's what I learned from Rebekah.
To be fair, she did like me, just not more than Stefan, and especially not more than her brother. I'm always getting blind sided when it comes to love. I'm there as a filler and never the main course, but with her it hurt the most. She was my first girlfriend and I guess I had some false notion that it would be better than having a boyfriend, that she couldn't hurt me the way Jeremy had, but of course she did, her loyalties never lied with me. However, again, I don't regret her. Our time together was noteworthy and showed me once again that there was no difference for me.
After that I didn't date, I fucked. I fucked Stefan, I fucked Matt, I fucked Jeremy again, I fucked Nora. You can't be betrayed if there's no commitment, but I guess that's why he surprised me the most.
I fucked Kai and I thought I would leave it at that but nothing ever goes to plan with him. I thought I'd feel contempt like with Damon, but it never came. I thought he'd find someone he'd want more like the others, but that never came either. The level of devotion he had toward me was unlike anything I ever experienced, so when he left me in that prison world I was surprised at how betrayed I felt. Of course, I evened the playing field after, but I'll never forget realizing when everything changed.
He was no one. He was a child murderer. I should have felt nothing but anger, but I found myself disappointed. The thing I had been avoiding since Rebekah Mikaelson broke my heart. But he was different in every way which is how we got here today.
