Introducing Ciarra Ross: #BrownBeauty of the Month

We’d like you to meet Ciarra Ross -- a Communications Studies major at University of Michigan and our 3rd pick in our #BBOTM series! Not only does she possess an amazing sense of style, Ciarra is a philanthropist with a heart of gold! 

“I am a student of being. My greatest acquired knowledge is not taught in a classroom; it is encountered by way of experience.” - Ciarra

                          Representing my organization, NOiR (@NOiRrunway on twitter and IG). NOiR is a philanthropic organization that uses fashion as an avenue for supporting and educating about a charitable cause. I am the creative director and Vice President. In the past, I was the PR representative and stylist for NOiR.

                 In Tanzania, I did an internship in three special education schools in the Irente village. Eva (Hawa in Kiswhahili) and I had a very special bond, beyond language barriers and differing mental conditions. Her spirit and energy was always high, warm and inviting. She knew my voice and would be smiling, awaiting my entrance to a room before even seeing me. It was the greatest love.

                            Supporting @tommeywalker and representing the Detroit vs. Everybody movement.

                                Enjoying fall days at the University of Michigan. Both sweaters are salvation army thrifts. The oxfords are also a thrift find. I might be addicted to thrifting.
