The Irregulars is such a good show how dare Netflix cancel it!!!

I definitely recommend this show, it’s a bit gory but really cool and the fandom seems quite small. Also if you liked Gravity Falls you’d probably enjoy it 👀

WTF Netflix cancelled The Irregulars???

Ugh this is why I don't watch Netflix shows anymore!! I keep getting my hopes up!

I just happened to be bored one day and decided to binge The Irregulars which just came out on the streaming service. I fell in love with it!! It's a great take on the Baker Street Irregulars and was well-written, with well-developed characters!

People criticize the portrayal of Sherlock Holmes but dude!! He's a fictional character! The show is not even about him!! Making it about the paranormal/supernatural means it's not meant to follow the books accurately!!

The Irish-Chinese woman lead!! It's not everyday that I see a period piece have an Asian woman lead. Most period pieces, if not all, always have white lead and POC as background characters or extras. It's refreshing to see (someone like me be the lead) for a change.

And the hot gay black John Watson!! Do I even have to explain that??? The diversity comes naturally in this show. And there's so much more this show tackles: found family, teenage sex, childhood trauma, etc.

Ugh after The OA, Sense8 and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, I should have known better. I don't even understand the decision-making done by Netflix with these high-rating, good viewership, diverse shows.

But kudos to Tom Bidwell, who created this wonderful adaptation. I am hoping this show finds a new home because the world deserves to see it.

So I'm an Asian woman in my 30s, and I hope y'all youths know how lucky you are to have shows like the Irregulars and Shadow & Bone representing so much diversity. I grew up on the OC and Gilmore Girls, the whitest shit, and had so few people I could see myself in. I genuinely wonder if I'd be a different person if I'd had a Bea or Alina to see myself in.
