So... here's some "not my circus, not my monkey" memes in context of TCF. Except we all know they do be monkeys in each other's circus and then claim they ain't owning any circuses.

Well, that's because they do be going everywhere to cause chaos, including you, the ringleader clown.

Poor Beacrox, the collateral damage. Handling kids, destruction and food all at the same time.

Ron is the reason Beacrox is the collateral damage, since he keeps sending his son as the errand boy.

It is technically his territory where his eldest son is running around, doing shit to attain his "Slacker life" that he himself actively be chasing away.

In all honesty, whenever Witira shows up in TCF novel, she always be so confused with the new shit Cale be pulling.

Like, girl, get used to it. This man ain't gonna sit quietly unless he faints.

To me, this is Eruhaben-coded. He be sooooo much enamoured (platonically) with Cale and his infamous bad luck that he agreed to babysit the entire Cale and co.

Cries because why do POV og Cale fics flub his character? T-T guys he isn't actually an asshole I thought this was established at the beginning of the novel, he's been acting the whole time

Time to go on a info dump on og Cale for the sake of my heart

1) he says that terrible thing about Harris Village because his mom died there

2) he never hits anyone except gangsters. He conditions the people around him into flinching because he will throw things "at them" but misses on purpose

3) he isn't drunk when he does the things he does

4) he has a well conditioned body

5) he ruins his reputation to protect his step family from his relatives and the public eye (it's been a while since I read the novel so I don't remember where I read that, but I'm pretty sure it's accurate)

6) he did not hate his step family, and supported Basen. "Listen to me, you are a Henituse." (I don't remember exactly what he said)

7) he treats his father Deruth and Ron respectfully, and just avoids his step family

On a side note:

1) Ron and Beacrox got interested in Choi Han because they could smell Arm's people on him, not because he was strong. They were motivated to use Choi Han, to stay behind a strong person, to and investigate the circumstances of Arm on the Western continent. We don't actually know how Cale himself felt about them deserting him.

2) Beacrox didn't like Cale because he insulted his food and went around in dirty places. If Beacrox disliked Cale for taking up his father's time, I don't know? I'm not entirely sure if Cale disliked Beacrox too, he just refused to eat Beacrox's food in canon.

3) Ron tried to keep a distance with Cale. He never interfered when Cale went out to "play," just like Deruth never corrected Cale's behavior. Cale was aware (I think?) that Ron reported his behavior to the count.

4) Cale survives to the end of the war with the White Star and even fights him. Cale was not weak, though we don't know what he was strong in (swordsmanship seems likely). He becomes the Count. He calls the Henituse family, "our family" to krs!Cale, meaning that at least by the time he possessed KRS, he felt they were his family. This could be stretched, and he had always believed they were his family, or not.

5) Cale is a person that is both similar to Kim Rok Soo and dissimilar. I think something along that lines was suggested when he met krs!Cale as Heniroksoo for the first time.

6) it's suggested in the side stories that he couldn't enjoy the food in his world, and that's why he enjoys the food on Earth 1. This would explain why he refused to eat Beacrox's food, and why Beacrox got so proficient at cooking- to finally be affirmed by Cale that he made good food. Which actually disproves the idea that Beacrox was jealous of Cale. I think that it's confirmed that Cale had a poor appetite in canon, so it would make sense.

I will always adore how in these two panels, Beacrox looks personally offended and sickened by Choi Han's poor acting skills. Ron and Cale are surprised by Choi Han's inability to string a natural sounding sentence together when lying, but Beacrox looks down right upset like Choi Han spat on his shoes with his first attempt and nauseated with his second. Poor Choi Han, he's trying his best. The man is just not a good actor like the rest of his scamming family

Au where instead of starting to drink and having people call him a menace, og cale decided to just disappear...fade away...

He doesn't appear outside in day time, rarely goes to eat, train, wander...or just anywhere in general.

He operates at night, dealing with gangsters, shady buisnesses and all.In this elaborate act-he usually is asleep during the day and eats outide wherever he is at night leading to it seeming he's almost stopped eating.

Now everyone has their own opinions on this but Beacrox is pulling his hair out because AIN'T NO ONE DEVELOPING AN EATING DISORDER IN HIS PRESENCE. EAT MF-Cue to beacrox viciously tailing Og Cale with food to make him eat and ogc thinking he's caught on to his nightly shady activities

I keep seeing iterations and fics of all the wolf children/Lock seeing Cale as a father figure, and like, yeah. Understandable, I get that.

But hear me out.

Cale gave them to Beacrox to take care of. Maybe not Lock, sure, but tangentially, Beacrox is the one taking up a guardian role for the other children.

And with Ron’s taking care and unspoken raising of Cale, that basically makes Cale their uncle, literally putting him in the same sort of position as their last caretaker who died the same way Beacrox’s family did too.

We never see anything about how Beacrox teaches and raises the wolf kids, but the results are clear. We can see them growing and learning, and loving to help in the kitchen and to help serving, just like him. Beacrox is clearly taking care of them, and even Cale says he’s surprisingly warmhearted and weak to children apparently, and Cale didn’t even know that before! We can see that, not only with the wolf children, but with his reaction to Raon!

It’s all just very cyclical, and I love that, because everyone’s situations are a little bit different, just twisted slightly, but also exactly the same, and family members that remind you of someone long passed end up filling in that missing place in your life without trampling on the memory and I love TCF, and I love Cale for giving Beacrox kids. He’s the father in my heart.

So, now Ron and Beacrox "officially" know that Cale is Kim Rok Soo. The narration reveales they picked up clues over time, so it's not a big revelation or anything. But Cale told them his original name! And about OG Cale being well~! It was super sweet. Loved it!
