Alright, I have a question for everybody here who has their own take on Jekyll & Hyde:
...say the your takes of them were- HYPOTHETICALLY- forced to debate morality. The question is:
is it better to be repressed but good or free but evil?
...who would win? How would they argue it out amongst themselves?and what is their philosophical take on their side??
My Jekyll for example believes that it's better to be repressed but good, in spite of the fact he does not practice that philosophy himself. And that hypocrisy... torments him. Deeply so. He says he's following his own moral code but-
he knows deep down he's not.
My Hyde believes it's better to be free but evil because. He wants to do bad things and he does bad things. He wants to do immoral things (as does Jekyll, he represses those desires).
But unlike Jekyll he sees Jekyll's moral rot. He sees Jekyll's hypocrisy and he calls Jekyll out for his bullshit. And while Jekyll tries to tell him about the consequences of being evil- Hyde just shuts all them down with genuinely interesting appeals-
like Jekyll says "okay well what about getting caught?" and Hyde says "i've never been caught you idiot, that's why i exist."
Jekyll eventually loses his cool and screams at Hyde saying by not indulging he's been able to do good all over London. Hyde calmly says that Jekyll doesn't really care about the people he's helping and even if he did it wouldn't change the fact he killed Carew.
see when Hyde tries to bring up Carew's murder Jekyll changes the subject. He wins by reminding Jekyll that he doesn't actually follow the position he argues for.

Maybe Will needs to have a heart-to-heart with Vecna on top of a car in upside down. Maybe that would fix him

Sometimes I think to myself “ok no gifted kid can be as bad as Smart People portrayed in media” then I remember my sister’s ex who told me eventually my brain would get too fast to read books
