disruptive danmei pet peeve: when people say "we have old man yaoi, this character is hundreds of years old" lol no. you have twinks that are (for various magical reasons) consistently portrayed as physically beautiful 20-25 yr olds. that's fine! but it's NOT old man yaoi.

There’s definitely no officially translated danmei that counts as old man yaoi. Although, one of my favourite things about danmei is the amount of characters that are 32.

However if anyone calls that old man yaoi imma stab a bitch in the eye!

I actually can’t think of any examples of old man yaoi in general… I hear the concept a lot but like it’s basically as mythical as a unicorn to me. (In fact I think I only ever heard it in relation to House of all things).

Old man yaoi is such a weird concept to me though… because I feel like I’d need the characters to be older than my dad for them to count as old (otherwise it’s too close to my age and I’ll be getting triggered about ageing) and like 60+ year olds getting railed… I’m not convinced.

But the again, I watched a documentary once about prostitutes that were the same age as my nana and it gave me the ick.

I don’t think I’m the target audience for this 🙈
