The Stout Patty Melt is a mouthwatering burger featuring a juicy beef patty infused with the rich flavors of stout beer, topped with Swiss cheese and caramelized onions, all sandwiched between slices of toasted rye bread. It's a hearty and satisfying burger that's perfect for burger lovers and beer enthusiasts alike.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1/2 cup stout beer. 1 large onion, thinly sliced. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 4 slices rye bread. 4 slices Swiss cheese. 4 tablespoons butter. Salt and pepper to taste. Thousand Island dressing for serving.
Instructions: Put the ground beef, stout beer, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Combine well by mixing. Make 4 patties of the same size out of the beef mixture. Set the pan on medium-high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter in it. It will take about 10 to 15 minutes of cooking after adding the sliced onions until the onions turn caramelized. Take it out of the pan and set it aside. Add the last 2 tablespoons of butter to the same skillet and cook the beef patties until they are done the way you like them. For medium-rare, this will take about 4 to 5 minutes per side. In the last minute of cooking, cover the pan and put a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty. This will melt the cheese. Slice the rye bread and toast it in a toaster or a separate pan until it gets a little brown. For the patty melts, put a toasted rye bread slice with a beef patty and melted cheese on top of it. Then add caramelized onions on top of the patty and cheese and cover it with another rye bread slice. Put Thousand Island dressing on the side so you can dip the fries in it. Serve hot. Have fun with your tasty Stout Patty Melt!
