And this is one reason why bigger girls may not go the gym! Instead of smirking, telling mates about, laughing at, talking so they can hear, taking pics, doing what these girls were doing if you see a bigger girl at the gym give her a smile of encouragement, a "you can do it, you got this" smile. Befriend them, motivate them, help them feel like they are normal. Because they've as much right to be there as anyone else. And probably *need* it more than others! Give them some tips or advice on using the equipment and- as they drop that weight- feel proud of yourself for helping out and being part of their journey rather than being the reason they leave the gym, go home and cry into a tub of ice cream and maybe never go back!
