A wizard that tattoos magic runes on the sides of their fingers for when they cast enchantments so that they can stick them under their nose like a fake mustache to amplify the spell.
Beguiler Class Kickstarter is now Live
The beguiler is a 9th-level spellcaster for D&D 5th Edition, focusing on muddling the minds and perceptions of their foes.
The arcane trickster failed to fulfil the fantasy that it set out to do. The rogue, already having so much, an archetype could only do so little.
The Illusion and Enchantment Wizards can perform the job well, but must focus on one or the other, and then prepare everything but, because of the need for massive damage.
The bard also seems like a good candidate to get a subclass dedicated to this sort of thing, but the bar, much like the rogue, is too busy being everything.
So, seeing all paths leading nowhere, the only conclusion is to make a whole new class.
What is the Beguiler?
The beguiler is an expert semi-spontaneous full caster class that focuses in the use of illusions and enchantments. Its primary unique features are its study mark, subliminal casting, and canny preparation features.
Study Mark allows the beguiler to pay close attention to a creature's mannerisms, tics, and vulnerabilities, granting it a bonus to opposed skill checks and damage rolls against the target.
Subliminal Casting allows the beguiler to weave their spells over the course of a conversation to hide the actual casting of the spell.
Canny Preparation is a component of the Beguiler Order Subclass feature. The beguiler is a spontaneous caster, having practised and memorised a fixed set of spells, but it can prepare additional spells as shown by the number following the '+' in the spells known column. What spells these are depends on the subclass. Speaking of...
Beguiler Subclasses
The base product will have three subclasses: The Order of the Counterfeit Tome, the Order of the Nightingale, and the Order of the Duskblade
The Order of the Counterfeit Tome. An order who impersonate wizards, with a focus on illusion and confusing their foes with a shapechanging familiar.
The Order of the Nightingale. An order who impersonate bards, with a focus on enchantment that endure in combat and do not give away their nature when they end.
The Order of the Duskblade. An order of assassins fueled by the powers of the plane of shadow who use the darkness itself to manoeuvre in unnatural ways and make their foes vulnerable.
What Else?
The beguiler class book will also feature over 20 spells not in the SRD to help your beguiler with its magical shenanigans in addition to other spellcasters who can cast illusions, enchantments, and other fun magicks.
Finally, the book includes an artifact level item. One that consumes the identities of the fallen and allows you (or maybe your villain) to wear their faces as a mask.
Over winter break I’ve been trying to improve, so for this one I was doing lighting practice from watching a tutorial.
This is Omna, and he has SECRETS. He belongs to one of my closest friends who is a player in the campaign I’m running, but she doesn’t have a tumblr. She gave me permission to post this though <3
He doesn’t usually have exposed bone on the side of his head, just scarred skin. Though I thought it would be dope for this occasion.
I FINALLY FINISHED ONE-
Ok, so I don’t know if Keeper OC’s still exists but I’ve fallen too deep into this hole to crawl back up so here’s my boy; Blaze Jaxith Ozrial.
I made him maybe around early January? He was a new addition to another OC I had named Kiara, who is his older sister. He’s a pyrokinetic and beguiler and very much full on Elf.
I wouldn’t really consider him a KOTLC OC anymore tbh since I was tweaking a lot of the world to my own liking, which resulted in me deciding on making my own little universe for these characters. However, the Keeper world is definitely a building point to this whole thing so, I might as well still mention it.
Anyway, this is only one of the few OC’s I have. Maybe I’ll make some more for the others, depending on my motivation (And because I took 5 hours on this and obviously very tired-)
But yeah, enjoy? :]
(Also, I’m sorry if you can’t read my handwriting. I’m still not used to writing with my drawing tablet”
