Today I took the minis off their painting mounts and, I have to say, for a first time priming, I think I did a good job. There are a few missed spots but I'm sure it'll look fine after I paint them, hopefully. This will also be my first time painting minis so the results will be beginner level. Unfortunately, the actually painting will not be taking place until this coming weekend at the latest due to me juggling a day job and creative stuff. I really wish I could spend more time doing hobby stuff but between my job and working on my writing, it's difficult to balance. I'm even having a difficult time getting some reading done which should be the easiest thing to do.
This may sound entitled, but I can't wait until I can have a comfortable writing career specifically for this reason. I've known I wanted to be a writer since I was fifteen years old and I knew going in that it was going to be an uphill battle. Still, if I could somehow land a comfortable writing career (not rich, just comfortable) then I could portion out writing time and hobby time. Currently, writing time has taken over hobby time because I have to go to a day job to pay the bill and use whatever hours left to working on writing. Don't get me wrong, I do love it, but I would like to have some time left to do other fun stuff.
Anyways, I've switched out Brother Axel's weapons for his night patrol and now I'm going to eat dinner and get some more outlining work done.
