Crab meat is super tasty and if you are a seafood lover you’ll definitely love Crab curry recipe in Bengali style. 🦀🦀🦀 This Bengali style crab curry is popularly eaten during the winter months in Bengal. Because small fresh water crabs are commonly available in abundance in the local fish markets during this time of the year. Though it definitely takes time to crack the exoskeleton to reach that tasty meat! But, the reward is manifold! Moreover, it’s a tedious process to clean a crab & to eat it yet that delicious meat hiding inside the exoskeleton is enough to make you cook this Indian crab curry more often! So, its always better to be prepared to invest a good amount of time to relish Bengali Style Kakrar Jhaal! This Bengali crab curry is cooked with few spices & consists of less gravy. This is just to make the crab meat flavor shine through the curry sauce. The spices are almost same as we cook Bengali style prawn curry. The only difference between cooking of crab and prawn is, cleaning of crabs is a very tedious process. Rest all are same. Potatoe chunks can be used in this curry, but I've not used it. Today's Bengali style Christmas Treat at my home was with homemade . 🔅 Gajar Halwa garnished with finely chopped almonds, cashews, pistachios and a cherry. Though its looking like a nice Cup-cake on my plate, but It's a super-rich traditional Indian sweet made of grated carrots with loads of ghee, sugar, milkmaid, khowa kheer, cinamon and cardamom powder. . . 🔅 Bhetki Maacher Luchi ( Bhetki fish stuffed deep fried flatbread) . . 🔅Sabeki Aloor Dom ( a typical Bengali style aloor dom/ savoury potatoe curry cooked in the gravy of poppy seeds paste, coconut paste, cottage cheese paste and cashew nuts paste. Combination of fennel seeds paste & ginger pastes along with yogurt and other aromatic spices are the key ingredients of this recipe. . . 🔅 Fruit Cakes availed from a local bakery. . My resolution for this Christmas was to treat my family with a complete vegan meal, however, the subtle presence of fish is there in puris. I believe the merriment is not only for humans, but the animals also deserve the same. We wanted to share with you all some of our most loved dishes that we miss the most from the streets and homes of Bangladesh. Today, I've picked one of the most simplest Bangladeshi street food - Spicy Chanachur - to make, and also one of the most accessible one for ingredients. I decided to make this, as whilst this is a Bangladeshi throwback, many of my followers are also from other cultures and may want to give this a try! You can't go amiss! I could eat spicy chanachur for days on end! It's one of those snacks that you always seem to have space for more! It's a mixture of the spicy kick of mustard oil and chillies, zesty lemon from the fresh grind and juice, the soft crunch of tomatoes, cucumbers and onions, and the crispy crumbling of the chanachur in your mouth - a concoction to die for! For best results, mix feverishly in a shaker and then serve on newspaper cones! 👌😍 You can find the recipe on my story for the next 24 hours, and I'll add it to my highlights thereafter. This day is also known for 'Astra Puja'(Worshiping Weapons) as on this day the weapons of goddess Durga are worshiped. With Ashtami, It's time to get your hands on a plate of traditional Bengali food, not just any Bengali delicacy, but the most traditional form of Bengali food - the Durga Puja bhog meal. Bhog is an integral part of Durga Puja, Durga Puja’s bhog is almost synonymous with khichuri – a savoury combination of dal and rice – and vegetarian accompaniments such asi lyabra and fried veggies. Like every year on Ashtami, today also I've prepared : 1. Niramish Khichudi (preparation is same as bhog Khichudi) 2. Lyabra (mixed vegetable curry) 3. Fried Veggies (potatoes, pointed gourd and ladies fingers) 4. Mixed fruit chutney. Sheem ar Mulo diye Beulir Daal: Urad daal cooked in typical Bengali style masalas with sliced baby broad beans and baby raddish. . 3. Lal shaker bora :Red Spinach Fitters made of finely chopped red spinach, coriander leaves, green chilies, onions, lentil paste (masoor daal bata), ginger and garlic paste, turmeric cumin and coriander powder, red chili powder, salt and sugar to taste. Deep fried fritters in refined oil. 4. Soyabeaner Dom: Bengali style Nutrela granules dom. 5.
