I mean... at least they are realistic?
That and enthusiastic.
Edmund and Lucy Pevensie
I think the best thing about their relationship is how they were always there for each other. There was four siblings, two of each gender so there wasn’t so much a middle child as there was the two eldest and the two younger ones. Only instead of being babied by their mother they were more dismissed and condescended towards by Susan and Peter. Even if they did it unknowingly.
They were the only ones who always believed each other and were the balancing factors for Susan and Peter. And for each other.
Susan and Peter were given the tamer realms, the ones with magic yes, but less wild and unrestrained. Lucy and Edmund were given the domains of wild and old magic. Deep and unexplored.
They were the ones who were willing to go where the others wouldn’t because of the what if. And they would pull each other into check.
Lucy’s wonder to Edmund’s cynicism.
Edmund’s sharp analytical nature to Lucy’s instinct and faith.
They were the true balancing factors for the four siblings. While Susan and Peter were the cornerstones, the rocks, they were the adventurous ones. Not tied down by a sense of duty or I must. But a sense of why not, what if, and why wouldn’t I.
I love Peter and Susan. But Lucy and Edmund will forever be my favorites- and their relationship as well. Although I’m low-key agitated that Lucy wasn’t blonde and green eyed like she was in the books because then the theme of the two of them balancing each other would be even more prominent if only in a more superficial way.
I felt like doodling something fluffy. So have a Ruby & Sapphire hanging out on some soft bit of furniture being all snugly. UwU
