CW: Pet Fish Death
Magnus, my betta fish, has passed away. He passed away during the night, laying next to his beloved marimo. I only had him for a year, but tried to give him the best life I could, especially once his tumor showed and it was clear his time with us was limited. He lived with his tumor far longer than we expected, truly living up to his place as a Siamese Fighting Fish. He really enjoyed trying to fight my roomate, Jamie, and my father. He enjoyed looking at flickering flames and a can with interesting designs my dad had. He was a beautiful fish. He will be missed.
Here are some pictures of him for your viewing pleasure.
[ID: Five pictures of Magnus, a betta fish with a white body and brights red fins.
Image One: he is peaking up over a fake rock and looking at the camera. Tubing and a cord is visible behind the tank.
Image Two: Magnus is facing away from the camera and is in some fake plant leaves, next to the rock from the first photo. His bright red fins are all that are visible and pop next to the green leaves.
Image Three: Magnus is side on to the camera, hiding in his fake anemone, which is white with pink tips. His tumor is visible, but small.
Image Four: A top down view of Magnus in his tank when it was fist set up. The gravel of the tank is colors of muted earthy reds, oranges, and white. There is a large real plant, which he is over one of the leaves of. There are many bubbles nests (groups of little bubbles bettas make to show they are happy) across the surface of the water.
Image Five: Same tank set up as image four, however this is a side view of the tank, Magnus is swimming up near the top left, next to the filter.
