Hey! So I have a question about your labels. What does Heteromantic Bi-Grey mean? Specifically the Bi-Grey I guess. I know what all the parts mean but together it’s a bit confusing. Thanks!

Hey! No problem! It’s probably good to get this all written in a post, so thanks for asking! I’m gonna work backwards:

Graysexual: I experience sexual attraction rarely, randomly, or at low levels. Unlike Demisexuals, I do not need an emotional bond to feel sexual attraction. It’s just really rare.

Bi: I experience this attraction to both men and women. (In my personal experience I have not been attracted to non-binary people but hey anything can happen.) To be more specific, I generally experience sensual attraction to these 2 genders – I’ve only ever experienced full level sexual attraction to 2 people and both happened to be men.

Heteroromantic: Honestly I might at some point ditch this label. I say I’m heteroromantic because I’m only interested in having official relationships with men. (I’m a woman.) But this is a life choice because I want to eventually have a “traditional family”. I haven’t ever really desired a romantic relationship with a woman but since my boyfriend dumped me I’ve been pretty anti-men so who knows really. I might just lean into the Bi, stay tuned.

PS. I also would say that I’m a bit Demiromantic, because I can only be really enthusiastically interested in dating people I’m friends with. But I’m pretty chill about going on dates. And if I know I have basic things in common with someone I would totally date them and see if feelings grew.

Is there a reason that survey excludes trans people? We can identify with other labels, too, and not including us kinda sends the message that we're not *really* part of the community.

I’m waiting on an answer for that, although I’m hoping it’s something like controlling for a variable or something since I’m not sure why. Especially since there is a notable overlap between trans and nb people and the ace community, and while I’m pretty sure being trans isn’t a factor in being ace for me, I’ve read a lot of accounts where it is for other people.

firstly, that’s a great and hilarious idea. (I’ve only ever had alcoholic eggnog, which makes it even better!)
