OKAY I just now was thinking how cool it was that Sir Pentious is the FIRST to be redeemed BECAUSE like. The devil takes the form of a SNAKE when tempting Eve and it’s like—a snake being the first one redeemed? Delicious—!! Full circle!
I just think that’s neat.

Tonight at church I was talking to my pastor’s wife about The Boys in the Boat (she just finished the book) and she said something about rowing that was really good!!
She said our Christian race is like rowing. We can’t see the finish line at all but we have to trust God and His plan to get us to the finish line and keep pressing on just like the rowers have to trust their coxswain and his process.
She said it better than that and I’m a poor relayer but I thought it was good and wanted to share it ❤️

Solomon: depression (I just recognized the cycles I go through myself in his searching)

You shall not mix fabrics
I know a lot of people say the Bible says this and is therefore a ridiculous book to follow, but I'm going to show why that's dishonest and also explain the meaning and importance of those verses.

The verses in question are
Leviticus 19:19
"You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with another kind: you shall not sow your field with mixed seed: neither shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you."
And
Deuteronomy 22:11
"You shall not wear a garment of different sorts, as of woolen and linen together."

It's specifically and only linen and wool God commanded not to mix in a garment.
But why is this important?
This is actually talking about a person's character rather than their clothes.
When you marry someone, you become clothed with their nature. When you unify with someone, you become clothed with their nature. As Christians, we are clothed with Jesus' righteousness.
God is saying be clothed with either linen or wool, but not both.
Linen comes from the flax plant while wool comes from sheep. One is from the ground and the other is from an animal. Cain worked with plants while Abel tended a herd. So linen represents Cain's offering and wool represents Abel's offering. Abel offered God his firstlings and additionally the fat of them, while Cain did not give the best offering he could. Abel was selfless and Cain was selfish. So God is telling us here to be married to Selflessness or be married to Selfishness, but don't be adulterous by flip flopping between the two. Be hot or cold, but don't be lukewarm. The choice is ours, but he DOES tell us which one to choose.
