Because I love me some Biblical references, here is my favourite one. FTO!Michael and Devin who symbolise Archangels, Michael and Lucifer. ⚔️

Michael is the Archangel Michael, the Warrior of God and Leader of God's armies. 🛡

Devin is Lucifer, the Fallen Angel, who famously fought Michael and God's army and lost. 🪞

Lucifer's Pride (the first sin) caused him to rebel against God, he desired to become God himself, to take the Throne of Heaven. Eden, who is Devin's ego and pride, believed he should've become Grimshade's Guild Leader...

Eden/Devin fight Michael and lose...

The Garden of Genesis is a clear reference to the Garden of Eden from the Genesis. 🍎

Genesis means Beginning of Something hence why Eden's Office looks like Grimshade's office. Grimshade is where it all began after all...

Summary

Aziraphale falls from Heaven for asking questions and having knowledge. But while he falls, he reflects on what led to his final moments as an angel. It isn’t fear or anger he feels. He simply wonders why he didn’t heed the warnings of a certain demon, a demon whose heart he broke by leaving. Yet when Aziraphale reaches the ground in a painful crash, he is helped by that same demon. Crowley remains his spark of hope, if only he can hold onto it and him.

Why we love it

My heart! It hurts so good! This story does a wonderful and beautiful job of describing Aziraphale’s fall from heaven that is tender and thought-provoking. You know what’s happening to him physically, but the story focuses on his thoughts and emotions. And through it all, Crowley is still his main thought, his spark of hope he holds onto. Then there is a hesitant yet ever-tender Crowley to “catch” him when he falls to Earth. It is a bittersweet reunion, but it shows that they are both still there for each other. Also, the ending allusion to Greek mythology captured my heart. It was perfect!

Hot take but ever since I was young I always envisioned Zios like one of those cherubim from the Bible (head of man, lion, eagle and ox)

I'm not even religious but the idea of "sky father" just makes me think of the cherubim

This is the only time I'll make a post like this aside from maybe drawing my Zios interpretation
