You don’t remember the exact moment the world gave out under your feet.

Only the sensation of slipping, like missing a stair in the dark, but stretched into something endless, something that ate the rest of your life on the way down. Everything after that is a smear of colors and sounds, a flicker of something warm ripping itself out of your chest as gravity claimed you. Or maybe it wasn’t gravity. Maybe it was something with hands.

By the time the falling stops, you’re not sure if you ever hit the ground.

There’s just light first. Garish, chemical, too bright and sharp. Neon pink bleeding into deep crimson, electric blue flickering. The smell is worse: burnt sugar, gasoline, something metallic and too sweet, like someone spilled perfume on a corpse and hoped no one would notice.

You lift your head. Your body feels wrong, like it’s made out of wet sand trying to remember how to be a person.

A billboard above you crackles with static, flashing between faces, smiling, laughing, promising things no sane person should want. For a moment one pair of eyes seems to flick toward you through the glitch, pupils dilating in recognition. You blink, and the image is gone.

You’re lying on a cracked street, the kind that looks like it’s been punched by God and left to rot. The sky above is purple. Something screams in the distance like a fucking siren being strangled.

Hell isn’t fire and brimstone.

It’s noise.

It’s color.

It’s too much, all at once.

You sit up, hands shaking slightly. There’s grit under your nails. Your clothes are dirty, torn in places you don’t remember tearing. Your breath fogs in front of your face even though the air is warm, no, hot. It feels like every inhale sticks to your lungs.

The street is empty. At least, it looks empty. Shadows crawl in slow, careful motions along the edges of alleys, curling like clever animals waiting for the right moment. One of them seems to pause when you look at it, like it’s tilting its head.

You rub your eyes.

When you open them, the shadow is gone.

You push yourself to your feet, legs wobbling like you haven’t used them in years. Maybe you haven’t. Maybe you died years ago. Maybe seconds. Time clearly doesn’t work here, you imagine.

“Hello?” you call out.

Your voice echoes wrong, flattened, stretched thin across the street like it’s afraid to touch anything.

No one answers.

Something shifts behind you.

You spin.

Nothing.

But you swear you felt breath on the back of your neck.

There’s graffiti covering the brick walls beside you, layer over layer of demonic sigils, warnings, jokes and crude drawings. One word repeats itself in different colors and handwriting.

RUN.

Your stomach turns.

You try to decide what part of this nightmare you’re supposed to run from.

Maybe all of it.

A gust of wind whips trash across the street. A torn poster slaps against your ankle, clinging to you like it knows your name. The smiling face on it glitches, jaw dislocating, cheeks stretching into something too wide. It whispers for a second, crackly.

Then silence.

You stand there breathing too fast, palms sweaty, pulse too loud in your ears. You feel watched, but there’s no one.

A broken neon sign flickers half a block away, blue letters stuttering through the light. A fire escape ladder hangs halfway down a brick wall, swaying slightly even though the air is still. A graffiti-choked alley gapes open beside you like a throat. And farther down the street, darkness thickens into something almost physical.

Your skin prickles. The whispers come again, like someone humming from behind a closed door.

You swallow.

You don’t know why, but whatever you choose…

you know it’ll change something.

Shift something.

Pull you somewhere you can’t see yet.

Hell feels like a place built on crossroads.

And you’ve arrived at your first one.

“How are they in the University?”

NANAMI KENTO

—He definitely majors something stable and practical like Economics, Finance, or Business Administration. But not because of passion.

—He’s the type who researched employment rates before even applying.

—Attendance: Perfect. Not because he enjoys lectures, but because “missing class creates unnecessary problems.”

—His notes are terrifyingly organized, with color-coded sections, neat handwriting and summaries at the end of every lecture. People borrow his notes like they’re sacred texts because they are so, so useful.

—Nanami doesn’t cram. He studies in short, efficient blocks like it’s a job: he likes to do 45 minutes studying, a 10 minute break and repeat until the work is done.

—He studies at the same place every day, usually a quiet corner of the library where nobody bothers him. After a while, it basically becomes “his seat.”

—If someone is being loud near him, he won’t start drama, he’ll just stare at them silently until they leave. It works every time.

—Everyone knows him as “the reliable one.” If a group project includes Nanami, the whole group relaxes because the work will get done properly.

—He’s not popular as Gojo or Sukuna, but he’s deeply respected. Professors trust him and classmates rely on him.

—He has this aura of maturity, of someone who already is an adult while everyone else still is teenager.

—He lives in a small, clean apartment off campus, not a dorm.

—His apartment has a tidy desk, neatly folded clothes, one or two books that are not related to university (probably philosophy).

—His routine is very stable: he wakes up early, attends class, studies and goes home. It looks boring from the outside, but for him it’s comforting.

—Works part-time in a small office internship or a tutoring job for younger students. He treats the job seriously (probably more seriously than the actual employees).

—The people he works with trust him way more than they trust other students because he never shows up late and never makes excuses.

—He doesn’t waste time on drama, gossip, or campus trends. If something doesn’t matter in the long term, he simply ignores it.

—But despite that, don’t forget he’s not cold. He’s just practical!

—He doesn’t have a huge friend group. Instead, he has 2–3 people he genuinely trusts (in them Yu Haibara).

—If one of his friends is struggling academically, he’ll help them without making a big deal out of it.

—He’s the one who reminds people about deadlines, exams, and responsibilities. He’a basically the adult of the group.

—Nanami isn’t the type to flirt casually. If he likes someone, it shows in discreet ways, because his love language is acts of service and reliability. If he says he’ll be there, he will be there. Every time.

—Always arrives 10 minutes early to everything.

—Doesn’t stay at parties longer than 30 minutes unless is cozy. He shows up, do his social job, then disappears.

—When everyone else panics before finals, he’s calm because he prepared weeks ago.

—Looks like he’s 28 even though he has literally just started his first day.
