My local Asian supermarket (literally named "Asian Supermarket") has black chickens. I've never seen one before and just thought it was interesting.

Mine tend to have Starwars names 😂 Darth, Vader, Kylo, and Ren. LOL.

I get these wonderful messages every now and again from people who go ‘I bought a chicken and I love it, it's even smaller then I thought it was going to be and that's delightful,’ or something similar. The closest thing I've gotten to a bad review on Etsy is someone saying the chicken was almost too small to see the details/ how cute it was and so here are some chickens with things to hopefully illustrate how smol they are.
I believe this is an Ayam Cemani, just don’t ask me from where. The eyes being brown rather than black makes me doubt the species tbh. (hey, I’ve never claimed to be a specialist of any sort).
Fact from the Happy Chicken Coop: The Ayam Cemani is a fairly poor egg layer. On average, they will lay around 80 eggs per year, which is around 1 egg per week. They do seem to go ‘off lay’ for an extended period of time. Apparently, they will lay 20-30 eggs and then stop laying. This can be up to 6 months, and then they will start all over again
