3-14-2020 was pretty bad...like horrible. As the one year anniversary passes over my head like an angry cloud, I am filled with an insatiable drive to start my next journey. hi my name is jakub & i’m biracial black, trans, queer, dirt poor, neurodivergent and very tired.

i’ve spent the last eight months trying to keep my ptsd symptoms in control as i do life in a town i associate w 20 years of unprocessed trauma. my old life here has made it impossible to soundly + successfully build a new one, and as of this week it is no longer safe for me where i am.

we’re selling everything we own to get a van and some supplies to make it habitable so that my wife, dogs and i can more or less live on the streets of literally anywhere else as quickly as possible. as excruciating as it is for me to admit and type these next three words: we need help.

our whole week has been planning an estate sale for next week; we’re selling everything we own. we’re hoping to bring in a decent amount w the sale but we JUST had to deal w our $670 behind bill when our power was cut off week before last, so we’re starting with nothing.

we normally try to avoid pool funds for ourselves and always try to help others and the community. the fact that we are having to ask for this level of help is a huge deal to us. we are intimately familiar with how tough times are right now, but if you’re able + willing to donate anything to us it would mean the fucking world.

Anything helps, including sharing our story.

We’re also making an online wishlist of things we’ll need for the van once we get it (solar panels, induction stove, nesting dishes, bedding for us & the doggos, etc) if anyone would feel more comfortable gifting directly.
