Neglective batfam x Blade! Reader
Screw it, everyone else is tossing their hats in the ring, so why not me? Alright, so fair warning up front. I ain't much of a writer, more of an traditional style artist, pen and paper type of deal- so words arent really my forte. I am more of a lurker on this site and only really use it to reblog and read fics and art that I think are cool. But seeing all these wonderful authors stepping forward and doing amazing kinda makes me wanna give it a whirl and share my ideas in hopes someone might wanna use them. I doubt I'll do a real fic on it, but I'll give some of my takes on what I think might happen. I will make mistakes, please do not judge me too harshly, I ain't used to this type of thing. I ain't gonna specify gender or race or anything regarding the reader, that way everyone can feel included. I'm jus gonna use the core concepts of Blade's character; being a half-human half-vampire vampire hunter,'Daywalker', smartass, badass, lol. If anyone decides to use this idea, please feel free to tag me in it, I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on it!♡♡
So like Blade's lore, reader's mama was bit by a vamp and had to go into emergency labor, and died at birth.
She was one if Bruce's flings and he didn't know that she was pregnant with his kid until he gets a call from the hospital to come pick up his miracle baby that should be dead along with their mama.
Bruce, at the time however, was busy being the batman, trying to clean up the city after a breakout at arkham that resulted in many casualties (vampires involved but nobody knows that). So our beloved king alfred comes and procures the child from the hospital.
Alfred instantly adores the reader, but what with the needs of everyone else in the manor, they get overlooked, y'know, that whole trope.
Maybe reader is the eldest or is a middle child, I don't really see them being the youngest- maybe somewhere younger than Jason but older than Tim. Idk.
The thirst is reader's constant companion, making them want to avoid the family just as much as the family doesn't interact with them, resulting in them roaming Gotham.
This is how they meet Whistler, who initially assumes reader is a homeless kid who was turned into a vamp and tries to kill them (only to realize they are half human and don't want to hurt people). Which results in him making them a serum to help control reader's thirst for blood.
Reader begins following Whistler around like a duckling, learning about vampires and how to hunt them.
Eventually reader moves in with him full time but goes and visits Alfred every now and then, just because other than Whistler, he is the only other person they see as family.
Everyone at the manor doesn't really notice reader coming and going, too caught up in their own shenanigans until years down the road when reader kills one of the family's suspects in a case, walking in just as they stake the vamp.
Probably resulting in a mental breakdown of the manor. Bruce not knowing whether or not reader is breaking the no kill rule by slaying vampires, considering the vamps are technically already dead. The child he never bothered getting to know has been suffering this whole time trying to control their thirst. "God how many times must I fail my children!"
The only 'normal' member of the family is a half-vampire gung-ho on killing other vampires for the sake of humanity.
"The world you live in is just a sugar-coated topping. There is another world beneath it: the real world. And if you wanna survive it, you better learn to PULL THE TRIGGER!"
idk jus silly thoughts and a concept I've been thinking about to put into the air. Lemme know what ya think :).
