Batboys x reader self harm imagine
Hello friends!!! I have personal experience with these situations which is why i'm writing them, because I thought of them while I was in a rough spot when I couldn't find more to read about it. I know for me at least when I was starting my recovery having access to fanfics like these brought me at least a bit of comfort. I want to let you all know follower or not you're welcome to reach out to me.
Bruce would understand immediately.
His parents died young so he definitely thought about it.
Not to mention his willingness to practically get the shit beat out of him on the regular.
His problem is he doesn't know how to get you to stop, because he didn't' really stop either, he just changed where he took the pain from.
He wouldn't know what to do at first, or how to respond.
Especially if he caught you in the act.
He'd basically move like he was apprehending someone for Arkham who was a threat to themself.
He would know how to bandage you up though.
He would also immediately jump in the thoughts of whether or not you've contemplated suicide before as well.
He'd remove most of the things that you could hurt yourself with, leaving a few daily items to let you still feel somewhat normal.
He knows if you want to you will still hurt yourself.
He's far more observant after this as well, paying attention to any pain you may have at all.
He'd know where, make slight moves to see if he could every once in a while to see just how bad the tissue damage is or if you may have started causing nerve damage.
He knows he can't make you stop and trying to would only make things worse for you both.
He also knows that therapy might help for you, he'd set you up to meet multiple to decide which you liked best.
He'd stay by in case you needed him for anything.
He would encourage therapy first, then if that didn't work he'd suggest medication.
He'd let you figure out how to stabilize yourself, give his outside opinion of what he sees if you want it.
Let you find your own path to recovery.
He'll tell you if ever you're not doing well to just come and sit around him. You don't even have to talk about it.
Lets be real, his emotional intelligence is shot. He's not going to get all mushy gushy over it, or all broken up. He's going to worry yes, but it won't disrupt his daily life too much.
He won't rescue you, he knows that he cant. He knows it has to be your decision to get better.
He's dramatic. Not soft. He wouldn't break down in front of you and cry. He wouldn't freak out hysterically.
He'd stop you though. Move with slow and careful hands.
Take a sharp inhale when he sees what you've done up close.
He wouldn't look long, it would hurt to see it.
"Why didn't you talk to me... you know i'm here don't you."
He'd practically curl in on himself if you started crying, like your pain was hurting him.
Because it did, it hurt him to see you in pain.
He'd take a breath to cool himself down a bit.
Then he'd help clean you up.
He'd let you guide so he could see how you take care of yourself after.
Then he'd sit with you and hold you for a long time.
He wouldn't talk first. Not after the question he asked.
He'd just hold you like you were the last thing in the world he could.
He wouldn't even consider suicide. The thought wouldn't cross his mind because he'd be appalled at the idea.
He'd check up on you far more often.
Show up unannounced if you took too long to text back.
Walk in claiming to have forgotten something if you're in the shower too long.
Joke about how you must be taking a horrendous shit if you're in the bathroom too long. Then if you were silent too much longer he'd jokingly threaten to break down the door to be sure you hadn't gassed yourself unconscious.
If you still didn't open up he'd get serious very quickly, "Say something or i'm going to break down the door. If you want space just say so, I just need to know you're okay." and he would plead for you to say something before he would break down the door.
He doesn't want to be serious about this and make you feel even worse.
He'd try and be goofy about it
He wouldn't know how to fix this, how to make you better.
He'd hold you for as long as you want no matter what.
He'd compliment you as often as he could.
He'd make sure you're taken care of always.
He'd get a sad look in his eyes whenever he notices you're down, but he'd force himself to blip back up.
We all know this man is stubborn as hell.
He has his battles, no doubt, and he would see yours.
Walking into that room though, catching you would be a rollercoaster.
He's not the kind of guy who breaks down much, but he is quick to anger because of the lazeris pit.
He'd be angry at the situation, but you wouldn't be able to differentiate
"What the fuck are you doing!?!"
He wouldn't be gentle ripping what you're using from your hands.
He might even hurt himself in the process on accident
Not that he could tell though, you'd have to point it out.
He's the kind of person who would try and fix the situation
He would patch you up as quickly as possible if it's urgent, if it's not he'd put a hand to you cheek for a second to look at you and then look away.
Once you're patched up he'd walk out
He'd need to process, he doesn't want to hurt you and he knows he's angry.
He's the kid who scrambled and fought to survive all his life, he doesn't see why you would do this to yourself.
When he comes back he'd just look at you and whatever you're doing for a while.
Don't expect him to come around and talk to you about it for a few days, he's still processing.
He doesn't even differentiate what you were doing from suicide. He just assumes that it's you working up to courage to kill yourself.
Then one day he sees you pull up your sleeves to do something.
The second he sees how bad it is, he's moving across the room and grabbing your arm to see it better.
He'd stare quietly. what the hell else was he supposed to do.
If you tried to make an excuse he'd be on your ass in an instant.
"What the fuck do you mean, it's fine. You're going to kill yourself."
You just sigh, "Jason I do this so I won't kill myself. Sometimes it just hurts to be alive and I do this to let it out.
He wouldn't get it, "For fucks sake, you can't keep doing this. You're being self destructive."
It might even lead to a screaming match between the both of you.
He'd leave you crying in the kitchen while he took his keys and left out the front door.
If he came back to you doing it again, this poor boy would lose it.
You'd just softly clean yourself up. Wiping your face to try to hide the tears.
Not noticing him still in the door frame.
You wouldn't clean it, you never do why would you start.
The second he sees you pull out the stuff to wrap it without cleaning it he's in that room setting you on the counter.
"You have to clean it. If you're going to do this at least clean it, or come get me. Please I don't want you to keep doing this."
This man is acting like a kicked puppy at this point, how could you deny him.
You'd just sit there, let him clean and patch you up.
"I'm sorry about earlier.... I just... fuck, I don't know what i'd do without you. It hurts seeing what you're doing to yourself."
Then you'd both settle into unspoken words. He's wrap you under his arm, holding you close quietly.
Please be careful with this boy. He knows depression.
He'd catch you in the act early on in your relationship. Probably the first time you try to do it at the manor.
He's analytical. He wouldn't react emotionally, only logically.
He'd be swift in preventing you from continuing.
He's so quiet that you get anxious.
"Tim... please say something?"
He'd just look at you, tears forming in his eyes.
"Why... is... is it my fault?"
You'd be frantic in reassuring him before he'd be in your arms.
He'd hug you tight before pulling back and cleaning you up.
He would be attached to you at the hip the next few days, dragging you down to the cave with him while he worked, following you to and from the kitchen.
He'd be sure you're well fed.
Every time you're both alone, he'd talk to you about how you're doing.
He'd look for alternatives for you, things you could try instead of hurting yourself.
He'd be meticulous, "Do you think this would work?"
If you said no, he'd be back to researching.
This poor boy is at a loss.
He doesn't know what to do or how to help.
He'd honestly feel borderline hypocritical.
Every time he offers up an idea he'd have already ran through the idea of how it would work for him, and how he thinks you'd respond.
He'd also be quick in getting you in to see a psychiatrist mostly because he thinks medication might help more than anything else.
If you started stabilizing he'd even consider seeing one himself.
He'd be more affectionate though, more careful in spending time with you more.
He never want's you to question if you're free to talk to him.
Damian has never really been in tune with his feelings.
He'd notice something was wrong though before he catches you.
He might even suspect the injuries you're holding but brush it off, because when would you have had the opportunity to get injured with him guarding you.
Why would he be in tune with his feelings when he walks in on you.
He'd be frantic. Something you've never once seen in your life.
He'd be calling you an idiot before you're even patched up.
Complaining about why you would do this.
Protective. Bordering threatening.
He doesn't know how to handle something like this.
He's never seen something like this.
He's never watched someone struggle with something like this.
The league is behind closed doors.
He'd make sure you're patched up before dragging you to lay down with him.
He'd cradle your head and god forbid anyone get near either of you because this boy is ready to start a fight.
He's not verbally reassuring, but he's one hundred percent physically reassuring.
He'd hold your hand everywhere.
He'd be at your bed a plate of food ready before you're even up.
He'd subtlety remove all the items you could hurt yourself with. Making them more discrete.
He might even go to Dick to ask him what to do about this.
How to help you with your... mental ailments.
That's what he'd call it, because there's no way you're mentally okay if you're doing this in his eyes.
He'd listen to ever single word he'd hear and follow them to a T.
He'd be forceful in making you see a mental health professional.
He'd blab if you lied about being okay.
He'd keep a detailed mental note of everything that seemed off and report it to the professional to make sure you were taken care of right.
You'd probably even get annoyed by it.
He'd hold you more often though. Physical touch would be more common then before.
He'd still disappear like before, but now he'd be leaving cute little messages checking in.
The wording isn't cute, but it's cute he thinks about you so much.
