You get an absolutely horrible reply from someone on a post. You go to their blog to confirm whether they are a piece of trash and see nothing but pictures of flowers and cute animals. Not a single text post to be seen, no comments made on reblogs. Just pages after pages of happy feel good images.

You are now confused, because nothing on their blog suggests that they are the type of person who’d say such a thing on someone else’s post.

Well, don’t stay confused. Their tumblr is a smokescreen that they use to disguise what a disgusting shitstain they are. Block their sorry ass and move on.

Cancel culture and blocking blogs

Cancel culture seems to extend to the toxic Tumblr mindset of 'i don't like your response even though it's wrote respectful and non offensively, it still doesn't fit my view so you are being blocked'

... this is in fandoms as well! For me, Doctor Who.

People. We have creative differences and opinions about the show/fandom! Why on earth would you block people like that??? You are literally ignoring a key bloody point to the actual fandom! Let alone human decency!

Respect others! Treat others with kindness.

You don't need to agree but there's no need to, be rude initially, have a tantrum when called out on rudeness then block said person respectfully trying to have a discussion (lol yes this happened and by a so called 20 year old as well- who also strangely enough pointed out that it's a 'childs programme'...)

By all means, block offensive trolls who hive you abuse/threaten you ect. Anything else surely you can bloody sort through communication and even the very basic 'agree to disagree'

If you don't want replies or responses that differ from mind hive bullshit, don't leave your responses open! (People are more than entitled to reply to anything I personally post I encourage discussion)

Many on here are teenagers but there are a hell of a lot of adults (myself included) and I should think we owe it to ourselves and others to be decent role models and communicate with eachother on this platform respectfully.

Also, if you are enjoying the new Doctor Who season (I am- 13 is great and I can't wait to see more of the Fam and The Master) or even if you aren't! :) Please message, I'd love to talk to more people about it.

Blocking users from viewing his Twitter account is unconstitutional and a violation of the First Amendment, according to the judge.

Blocking users from viewing his Twitter account — a feature offered by the social media platform — is unconstitutional and a violation of the First Amendment, Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald wrote in her ruling.

"While we must recognize, and are sensitive to, the President's personal First Amendment rights, he cannot exercise those rights in a way that infringes the corresponding First Amendment rights of those who have criticized him," Buchwald wrote.

The government had argued that blocked individuals could still access the president's tweets. The judge agreed, but she said the impact of preventing them from interacting directly with Trump's tweets represented a "real, albeit narrow, slice of speech."

The case had been brought by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University.

They argued that the @realDonaldTrump Twitter account is a "public forum" under the First Amendment.

The institute represented seven individuals who had been blocked by account.

Blocking users is causing other people's posts to disappear!

I was scrolling my dash, and there was a troll comment on a post (calling the person's drawing ability "shitty" for their cartoon). I figure my life is better without seeing anything more from this person, so I blocked them. And the entire post disappeared! I double-checked that I blocked the correct person. So what happened?

Do I now not see any post a blocked user has commented on, rather than just not seeing their own comments? Because that sucks. That's giving trolls WAY too much power. (For example, I've blocked people who keep trying to start fights in fandoms. Does this mean I've not seen every fandom post they've commented on?! They can go down a tag and comment on everything, making those posts all go bye-bye!)

Please tell me this isn't how blocking works.

So I just had to make the really difficult decision to not go to Kumoricon this year. And it fucking sucks.

I was looking forward to con this year and had all the motivation to make a cosplay, go to panels, and had a hotel booked and everything.

Then about 2 weeks ago con staff decided to announce ONE MONTH BEFORE CON that they decided to require kn95 masks for all attendees ages 2 and up. No cloth masks under any circumstances. All when finally, finally everything is starting to calm down in my city and the county this con will be held in.

There was absolutely no reason to require them and no data to back up the concerns. If they had presented concerning data of cases and or hospitalizations here in the county like my employer has done for the last 6 months, I would be more agreeable. If they had even just said 'any mask just don't go without one' I'd be begrudgingly ok with it.

But now because of my sensory processing issues I've been so stressed out trying to prepare myself for a weekend of blisters behind my ears and not being able to breathe, on top of my issues lately of not being able to regulate my body temperature. I'm so stressed out that I said fuck it to the first cosplay I actually budgeted for and was actively working on every day after work for the last two months. My first ever cosplay was going to be this year. And now it won't see the light of day for months to years. Because it will have this negative association.

So thank you Kumoricon staff, I will not be attending your convention this year, especially after you so poorly handled the reaction to your news the last few weeks. If you can get your shit together, maybe I might come back next year but I hope you're happy. Because I'm not the only person making this decision.

It actually is possible to block people on FFNet. When you're logged into your account, the third option down under "Account" in the sidebar is "Block Users". You can block a user by their User ID, their Pen Name, or their Profile URL. For quick reference, here's the User ID of that over-entitled reviewer: 5586758

Oh thank gods! I had actually no idea you could do that! Now I’ve got to go and block this guy who nit-picked every detail in my Andy Jackson-Black Series that didn’t belong (which was incredibly ironic, given how AU his story idea were -_-)
