Neito put off visiting her sister for the longest time. Their interactions since March had been short and sparse; if the siblings ever ran into each other in the halls, she took the first opportunity to slip away, and rarely if ever replied to Himiko's texts.
Himiko herself never actually hurt Neito, and they knew that logically, but they couldn’t just let go of years of resentment so easily. Besides, it took so long for Neito to accept that she'd never be part of her sister's life and move on. What if she let herself get comfortable and Himiko just disappeared again? Neito knew full well how off-putting and difficult to get along with they were...
But, with their mother off on a trip and many of their classmates gone for the summer, she found herself lonely and not having anything better to do. So. Maybe giving their sister a chance wouldn't hurt.
Neito knocked on 3-B's dorm room, and though she didn't recognize the plain-looking girl who answered, she sure seemed to know them judging by how wide her eyes went.
"Oh, Monoma, hi! Are you here for—?"
"Himi— Toga. If she's home."
"Yeah yeah, she's here, just wait one~ second!"
The door shut in Neito's face, and the older hero course student BOLTED upstairs to Himiko's room, rapidly knocking on her door.
"Himichan! Someone's here to see you!"
( @the-harpys-choir )
Himiko was surprised to have someone asking for her, she tried to stay only in contact with class 3-B and some in 3-A. All of which would've texted her first, or just come to her room like her classmate just had.
Heading downstairs, she opened the door to see Monoma.
Monoma? Was this some prank? There was no way her classmates got Monoma to show up! Wait. She said they showed up for her?
It was surprising, but very welcome.
"Hey! This is a surprise." Himiko than laughed awkwardly.
Hello, I'm geckmen.arts, an independant artist making a party style card game called "Blood Rush." I wanted to showcase my game and its development so far and get some community feedback.
Game rules vvvv
Game Introduction
Welcome to Blood Rush, a fast-paced strategic card game where your path to victory depends on the deals you cut, the choices you make, and your ability to adapt to an ever changing environment. Outwit your opponents, and rush towards victory!
In Blood Rush, players assume the role of different characters, each with a unique set of abilities and supporting strategies. The game is played in turns where players draw cards, play cards, and activate abilities. The central mechanic of the game is the Blood Dial, which influences the use of each character's powerful abilities. The game ends after the Final Feeding phase, and the player with the highest accumulated Value wins!
Card Types
Spells: Instant effects that provide advantages or disruptions. Once resolved, they go to the graveyard.
Relics: Cards that remain in play and are controlled by a player. Relics are played face down if your character card is hidden and face up if revealed. They have a range of Values and may provide additional actions, rules, or conditions. All Relics that are hidden have a value of 0 and cannot have their abilities activated.
Events: Cards that massively change how the game is played, often altering a core rule or introducing new one. Only one event can be in play at a time. If an event already is in play when another is played, replace the current one and put it into the graveyard
Characters: A unique hidden card given to each player at the beginning of the game. These cards all have a “Blood ability”, which can be used when the Blood Dial’s number equals the number on the card.
How to Play a Turn
Turn Start: Draw a card.
Take up to 2 Actions from the following. At any point before Turn End, you may, if the central blood dial equals your character card’s number, reveal your character card and use your blood ability.
(No duplicate actions, unless otherwise stated)
Draw: Draw a card
Reveal: Turn a hidden (Face down) relic you control face up.
Expose: Turn a hidden (Face down) an opponent controls face up, [Trap effects], then Draw 1
Play a Card: Play a card from hand. (Remember relics enter hidden or revealed based on your character card.)
Activate: Activate an action ability on a relic or character card.
Blood: Discard any number of cards to increase the Blood Dial by the number of cards discarded.
Turn End: Increase the Blood Dial by 1
Blood Dial
A D12 die (1-12) that is central to gameplay.
The Blood Dial increases or decreases based on actions and card effects.
If the Blood Dial would go beyond 12, it resets to 1.
How the Game Ends
Once all character cards in play are revealed (Face up) the game enters Final Feeding. All other players except the current players' turn, get one final turn. If at any point not all character cards are revealed (Face up) the game continues as normal until the Final Feeding conditions are met again.
If Final Feeding concludes, the game ends and the player with the most Value wins. Certain game expansions include alternative ways of gaining points. In the instance of a tie. Here are a number of ways of determining the winner of the night.

Part 1/?
“Why do you want me to spend the first night in town at a vampire bar? I’m not some fangbanger, Sookie. You asked me to fly here only for you to drag me into a bar,” you roll your eyes at the name of the bar. “Fangtasia, seriously? That’s the worst name for a bar ever.”
“Y/N, please. I need to talk to the owner. Don’t mess with him. If he wants to, he can ban Bill. I don’t want to lose him,” Sookie pleads.
“I can’t believe you wasted your virginity on some sucker,” you’re still shocked about Sookie’s recent revelations. Not only did she let Bill Compton fuck her, but she’s also his girlfriend and it makes you want to puke all over her sundress.
“I love him,” you shrug as she ushers you inside the bar. “Please, help me here. Bill is gone for almost a week. He left town by Eric’s order. I need to know if he’s safe.”
“His order? What is he? Some fucking major among the vampires?”
“He’s a vampire sheriff, okay. He has the saying when it comes to vampires, and anything involving them in this place,” your friend tries to explain. “I’m worried about Bill.”
“Fine, whatever,” you reluctantly walk into the bar, hating there are girls all over some suckers. You turn your head as one of the girls starts to grind into one of the bastard’s crotches. “I hate it here already. You better hurry up.”
“Y/N, I need you to stay at the bar, have a drink, and watch my back. Call for help if something goes awry.”
“Seriously? You walk into a bar owned by a fucking vampire sheriff wearing nothing but a sundress. You don’t even have a stake and want me to what? Come to your aid?”
“You’re a cop,” Sookie interjects. “You help people, right?”
“Not even close,” sighing deeply you look at the bartender who grits her teeth, “I’m an FBI agent, Sookie. My job description doesn’t include killing vampires. Even though, I’d like to get rid of these…monsters.”
“They are not all monsters,” biting your tongue you hold back all the things you want to tell your friend about vampires. “Bill is a good man. He didn’t ask to be turned.”
“I just...” you rub your forehead. “Okay, let’s get this over with. I got my gun with me, but this will only slow him down. I got like 30 shots. It won’t stop them all but cause a lot of chaos.”
“You want to shoot them?” Sookie whispers. “Y/N, you can’t just shoot them. They are vampires…”
“If they attack you or me, I got the right to shoot them,” you shrug. “You dragged me into this shit, Sookie. I’m not going to let one of those fuckers bite me, babe. I’m not against kinky sex but this doesn’t include getting bitten or sucked dry.”
“It can be very…arousing and intimate,” this time you scrunch up your nose. You don’t want to hear any details about Sookie’s sex life with her vampire lover.
“Sook, that is enough. I don’t need to hear any details about your sex life, or things involving your boyfriend’s teeth,” you warn. “Go to that douche and ask him about your Bill. I’ll be waiting for you at the bar and have some water.”
“Water?” she asks, quirking a brow. “This is a bar.”
“A bar owned by, and filled with vampires. I won’t drink alcohol while some suckers want to have a taste of more than my pussy,” your friend makes a face as you lazily lean against the bar counter to check the bar out.
A habit since you got to know about vampires and the things lurking in the dark. As if serial killers, rapists, and all the other scum you hunt down are not enough.
“Just wait here,” she makes her way through the masses, to meet up with Eric. You watch him turn his head to eye Sookie up and down. He smirks, as she says something you can’t hear. The vampire dips his head, eyes drifting toward you at the bar counter.
“Do you want something…stronger?” the bartender tries to get your attention. “You know, if you are interested in getting to know one of us better—”
“Not interested,” you grit out. It takes anything in you to not break one of the chairs and ram a stake in as many chests as possible. What you would give to just give in to the urge to lose control.
“All of the girls coming here want the full vampire experience,” she places a drink next to your water, snickering as you shove it aside. It will remain untouched, just like the water you ordered.
“Well, I’m not. If you would just take care of the other guests. My friend will be back in a minute, and I’ll be gone.”
“Your loss,” she shrugs. “I would’ve shown you a good time, darling.”
“Right,” you sarcastically say. “Sorry, I’m not into getting sucked dry in a dingy bar. Find some fangbanger.”
Your eyes are trained on the blonde vampire talking to your friend. He nods, now and then, all the while his face remains stoic. It seems he’s rather bored as his eyes drift toward you.
Sookie suddenly turns on her heels to storm toward you. She chokes on her tears as she calls your name. “We should go. He can’t help us.”
“He can’t or doesn’t want to help you?” you ask, wiping her tears off her cheeks. “Sookie?”
“Eric acted as if he doesn’t know anything,” she sniffles. “He laughed as I told him that I’m worried about Bill. We should head back and try—”
“Sookie, take the keys. Go to my car, lock the doors, and wait for me,” you hand Sookie your keys and phone. “If I’m not back in ten minutes, you’ll call my partner.” You show her your partner’s number. “Tell him vampires got me.”
“Y/N, what are you doing?” she panics a little as you waltz toward Eric. Sookie swallows thickly. She glances at the phone and keys in her hands. “I’ll be waiting outside then.”
“You will tell me everything you know about Bill Compton’s whereabouts or else I’ll,” it looks like everyone turns their heads toward you as you yell at the blonde vampire.
“Or else you will what,” you don’t even flinch when Eric Northman, jumps off his chair. He wraps his hand around your throat, huffing as your heart doesn’t beat as fast as expected. “Tell me, little blood bag.”
“Sir, I must ask you to take your hand off me, or else I’ll arrest you. I’m a special agent Y/N Y/L/N,” his features darken, and he dips his head as you purse your lips. “Ms. Sookie Steakhouse told me her boyfriend Mr. Bill Compton disappeared a week ago. Do you know anything about his disappearance?”
“A cop, huh?”
“FBI agent,” you hold his gaze as he slowly retreats his hand. “You are on this world for long enough to know the difference, aren’t you?”
“That I am,” he seems to be amused when you get your badge out. “I lived a thousand years. So far, no one ever disrespected me the way you did.”
“Oh, I feel special out of a sudden,” the vampire furrows his brows at your reply. “What? Did you believe I’ll cower in front of some vampire? I faced worse than you.”
“Worse than me. That so,” he questions as his hand moves over your right arm. “Who made you so fearless, little human. You know, I can smell fear on people. You are different.” Eric sniffs at your neck. “No trace of fear...”
“Interesting,” you yawn. “Can we go back to Bill Compton? Do you know what happened to him? Yes or no, Sir.”
“Eric, princess,” Eric steps closer to look you up and down. “Bill is out of town for business. He will return in two or three days. He’s fine. I’ll tell him his girlfriend is worried. Bill will call her tonight, promised.”
“Business,” you don’t believe a single word leaving his lips but will not infuriate the tall vampire even more. You’re cocky and self-confident, not suicidal. ”Sir, thank you for the information. I’m sure Sookie will be pleased to hear the man she loves is safe and sound.”
“The man she loves, huh?” damn him. The bastard dares to lean close enough to brush his nose over your cheek. “Young love. So sweet, yet so doomed to fade away.”
“I’ll leave you to your,” you look around the bar, huffing, “establishment now. Have a nice night.”
You squeak as he grabs your left wrist to kiss the back of your hand. Lips lingering a little too long for your liking. “I hope to see you again soon, princess.”
“Yeah, no. I’ll be gone by the end of the week,” turning to leave, you glance at the vampire. “I hope Bill comes home safely. I would hate to see my best friend sad.”
“He’ll be back in a few days, Y/N,” he watches you leave, smiling darkly. “And we will see each other soon, princess. I’d like to taste more than your blood…”
“Bill,” you’d like to retch when Sookie jumps at Bill. She squeaks and cries and kisses the vampire all over. “Oh, my friend is here. That’s Y/N, she’s an FBI agent.”
“Nice to meet you, Y/N. I heard so much about you,” his features darken for a moment, and you assume his sudden return has something to do with your conversation with Eric Northman. “How about you come to my place tonight, Sookie?"
“I’ll take my leave for tonight. Have fun,” you squeeze Sookie’s shoulder. “Just be careful. Sometimes the ones you love are not the person you believe they are.”
“Sheriff,” you check on the information you gathered over the last few days. “Bar owner. Blonde bastard. What are you up to? Why sending Bill back right after I talked to you?”
“I wanted to do you a favor,” whipping your head toward the open balcony door you huff. “It made you happy, didn’t it?” Eric waltzes into your hotel room.
“I thought you cannot enter a place without an invitation,” aware of the danger you are in, you take a step back. “How did you get in here?”
“A hotel room is a public place,” Eric shrugs. “No invitation needed, princess. If this place was your apartment or house...”
“I get it. What about my car? Can you enter it without an invitation?”
“We cannot enter any place you call your home. A place you own. If you don’t own it, well,” he chuckles darkly, “I can easily come inside and do whatever I want to do.”
“Like what?” you try to remember where you put the stake you made last night. There are too many vampires in this town to not take precautions, though. “Kill me? Suck me dry?”
“Kiss you,” he moves in a split-second. You find yourself in his arms, his lips on yours. “Yeah, definitely kiss you, princess.”
“What the fuck?” you push against his shoulders. “This is my home for now. Get out! You’re not invited.”
“Hmm…as long as you do not own the room, I can do whatever I want to do,” Eric concludes. “Why not be a little nicer to me? I know you like me.”
“I don’t even know you,” he kisses your temple, humming as you weakly shove against his chest. “Get out!”
“I’ll be back soon, Y/N. Have a good night, princess…” Eric is gone before you can react. “What the fuck! I-I need to buy or rent something…ownership, huh? Wait for it, Northman. I’ll bring you down…”
