Use your air fryer to make a Bloomin' Onion that is crispy and tasty! With this simple recipe, you can make an appetizer like you would at a restaurant, but without all the oil. Great for family and friends to share.
Ingredients: 1 large onion. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 tsp paprika. 1 tsp garlic powder. 1 tsp salt. 1/2 tsp black pepper. 2 large eggs. 1/2 cup milk. Cooking spray. Bloomin' Onion dipping sauce optional.
Instructions: Peel the onion and cut off the top stem and root ends. Place the onion on a cutting board, flat side down. Make vertical cuts from the top down towards the root, leaving about 1/2 inch uncut at the root end. Make 4-6 evenly spaced cuts around the onion, creating 'petals.' In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Dip the onion into the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Then, roll it in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing the flour into the crevices to coat all the petals. Preheat your air fryer to 375F 190C. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the coated onion in the basket, root-side down. Air fry for 12-15 minutes or until the onion is crispy and golden brown. You may need to adjust the cooking time slightly based on your air fryer's power. Remove the Bloomin' Onion from the air fryer and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Serve with your favorite Bloomin' Onion dipping sauce or a mixture of ketchup and horseradish. Enjoy your delicious homemade Air Fryer Bloomin' Onion!
