what i'm always thinking about is that every main character had their spren pursuing them and urging them to form a bond, but only bondsmiths coerced their spren into doing so. that's so interesting

Ideas you get from waiting in TSA lines after dragonsteel....
So I know that there's an "official" Surgebinding chart... But it just looked a bit too messy, and in some orders cases washed out, to me. So I made my own, complete with text to say what each symbol actually is as well :3

Spoilers for all of the Stormlight Archives
Dalinar as a Bondsmith is worth some final consideration, I think. He has been tasked to "unite them" and unite them he did. At first it meant the High Princes of Alethkar to him. Then it meant the Knights Radiant. Then it meant all of Roshar. Then it meant the Realms, physical, cognitive and spiritual. Finally, it meant the two shards, Odium and Honor.
I love that we never learned what exactly it was he was supposed to unite in the first place. I love that he impulsively chose whatever was in front of him and that those things became increasingly grandiose, until his final efforts created a new God. I cannot explain why, exactly, but I find this in equal measures amazing and funny.
On an unrelated note, what do you think would happen if one united Retribution and Mercy? Would they just evaporate into nothingness?
When Advertising comes to Roshar, will celebrities who shill a company become Brandsmiths?
Hey, so, not for any particular reason, but if there were, idk, Wind, Stone, and Night Bondsmiths as indicated in WaT, what do we think their powers would be?
cc: @cuubism I'm taking your idea and running with it.
In the club, straight up smithing it, and by it, let's just say, Bonds.
