Boris Johnson is facing increasing pressure to step down as PM after it was confirmed he will be fined as part of the Met Police's 'partygat
To all the people who say they want Queen Elizabeth II to die right now, that wouldn't be an improvement:
Boris would definitely use the whole State Funeral process to put his ego front and centre in a stomach churning display.
The fuss would be far too helpful as distractions from skeletons in anyone's closet and would distract the Civil Service from the actual business of government.
Boris has only resigned as Party Leader. The Party Leader of the ruling party is Prime Minister but the whole thing operates on an honour system. However British Law says that, if Boris refuses to go and Parliament has a vote of No Confidence, the Queen can actually chuck him out...an appealing thought if not for the negative consequences of that level of chaos.
Anyway! Queen dying right now? Not a good thing.
