Heart Shaped
“Happy Valentine’s Day, big brother!” Kawaki heard Himawari announce and saw her give Boruto some kind of package out of the corner of his eye. He may have been slightly curious to know what a “Valentine’s Day” was, but since he didn’t want to come across as unknowing, he decided to simply pretend that he hadn’t heard anything.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Kawaki!”
Of course, that was before Himawari thrust a package identical to Boruto’s in to his hands.
“…What the heck is Valentine’s Day?”
“You’re supposed to say thank you, Kawaki” Naruto scolds him before he too gets the same kind of package from his daughter “Thanks, Hima.”
From where she’s standing in the kitchen, Hinata can see Kawaki making the familiar face that he makes when he gets a slight scolding from Naruto. He averts his eyes, presses his lips together and occasionally, like now, there’s a slight red hue on his cheeks. It’s always followed with a more tense posture than what he usually has, too.
No matter how much of a tough front he tried to put up, Hinata knew he was a good child.
“A day when girls and women show their appreciation to their friends and loved ones” Hinata replied Kawaki’s earlier question as she came to the living and dining area, kissing her husband on the cheek before setting the chocolate cake she was carrying on the table “At some point, it became a tradition to show it with chocolate.”
“…” Kawaki understood what she was saying, in theory at least, but in practice, he saw no point in it. Then again, he saw no point in lots of things that this family did.
No matter if he understood or not, one thing Kawaki knew for sure: he’d never say no to anything that had chocolate in it. Needless to say, he didn’t even hesitate when Naruto told him to join them at the table.
XXXXX
“This is for you” Chou Chou says as she hands a small package to Shikadai, then turning to Inojin “And this is for you!”
“…Do we have to accept these?” Shikadai asks with a grimace.
“Why wouldn’t you? I know you both like chocolate and that neither of you is allergic.”
“Because if we do, White Day is going to be tough on our wallets” Inojin, forever the blunt one, answers without hesitation. Shikadai nods along, silently glad that he didn’t need to be the one to say it.
“Better start saving up, then!” Chou Chou grins “Try not to waste all your money on those silly cards.”
“They’re not silly!” both boys chorus immediately, and Inojin adds: “You just don’t get it because you waste all your money on anything that you can use to stuff your face, Chubs!”
“Excuse me!?” Chou Chou asks, and Shikadai sighs, muttering: “Troublesome.”
“Really, you guys? Fighting each other first thing in the morning?” Boruto asks as he casually walks over, Kawaki right beside him.
“You say that like you and Sarada were somehow different” Inojin chuckles “If she was here, you’d probably already be at each other’s throats.”
Boruto just shrugs, unable to really deny it.
“Good morning, Kawaki!” Chou Chou cheers, ignoring Boruto completely “I have something for you!”
Kawaki raises an eyebrow, but at this point, he’s able to put two and two together and is pretty sure of what that something is. And he never says no to chocolate.
“Happy Valentine’s Day!” Chou Chou tells him, holding out what he knows is a package of chocolate.
“…Thanks” this time, he remembers his manners. Not that Lord Seventh was there to see even if he didn’t. But, knowing Boruto, he’d tell on him if he didn’t.
Leaning closer to Shikadai, Boruto whispers: “Is that obligation chocolate or…?”
“Nah, it’s not” Inojin, who also hears him, says “It’s bigger and fancier than what we got.”
“And I didn’t even get any” Boruto scoffs, making Shikadai laugh.
“Don’t take it personally; we only got some because we’re her teammates” he pauses “And so that she can quilt trip us on White Day.”
“…Suddenly I don’t feel so unlucky anymore” Boruto says “You guys better start saving up.”
“We know” the duo groans, their attention drifting to Kawaki again as they see the guy opening his gift.
“They’re heart shaped” Inojin points out “The chocolates we’ve gotten have never been that shape.”
Everyone watches Kawaki’s reaction, but he just picks up a piece and pops it in to his mouth, not seeming to react to the shape.
“These are delicious” he comments before taking another one.
“…I don’t think he got the hint.” Inojin says with a wry smile.
“Come to think of it, he didn’t know what Valentine’s Day was ‘till this morning.” Boruto tells.
“Should we point out what that kind of chocolate usually implies?” Shikadai asks. The boys look at each other for a while before coming to a shared decision.
Post Sasuke Retsuden - what had been going on in my head after reading the spoilers of Sasuke making Sakura a ring of chakra.
-----------------------
Sasuke was picking the last of the tomatoes from the market, dropping the coins in the merchant's hand before taking the fruit and putting them in the other full grocery bag with a bit of skill. He'd learned to use his legs more often when grocery shopping to lift the bag higher and place any new items in it.
Konoha was lively during the day, a thing he admittedly sometimes missed on his travels. Granted, he wasn't a fan of crowds, but they were tolerated after months of solitary traveling.
Sakura still had her shift at the hospital, Sarada was at school, so it was up to him to prepare dinner. He wasn't sure what to do, visiting the dobe would be pointless, Naruto would always distract himself at Sasuke's arrival and no amount of prompting will convince the Seventh Hokage to get back to work until Sasuke left.
He couldn't believe the dobe was Hokage, not with the childhood memories he still had of the blond idiot.
Smirking fondly at the memories in his mind, Sasuke came to a sudden halt when he noted a couple rushed towards him in a hurry. His stern gaze narrowed, already on guard for possible danger to have frightened the couple so much, until they came to a stop right in front of him. "U-Uchiha-san!"
Sasuke rose an eyebrow curiously, inspecting the panting man and woman but sensing no malicious chakra anywhere in the vicinity. "Yes?"
The woman spoke first, her husband still catching his breath. "Uchiha-san, w-we need your help! My husband and I! It's very important!"
Help? What sort of help did they need to look so distraught? "What about?"
His curt question made the couple straighten up but they suddenly moved far too close to Sasuke's liking and the woman wiggled her fingers at him. "A ring!"
Sasuke blinked, face set into a deep scowl from their unwanted proximity. "...A ring?" He spied the woman's hand, seeing no such object on them.
This time, the husband he presumed, spoke up with a loud, wailing voice that even rivaled Naruto's. "Yes! Please Uchiha-san! You're the only one who can help!"
"What makes you think I can help?" how in the world would anyone think him to be adequate in helping with jewelry?
In the next second, the couple fell to their knees, attracting quite a few looks, Sasuke's shoulders tensing even more the longer time passed and the more people stole glances at them. Just what were they-
"Please make us a ring!" the joint shouts not only threatened to burst his eardrums but his eyes blinked down at their kneeling forms, uncomprehending.
A ring?
Why would he make them a ring?
"What-"
The man rose up and gripped at his sleeve, Sasuke's glare not scaring him away at all. "We beg of you, Uchiha-san! My wife and I will compensate you of course!"
Sasuke dislodged the man's clingy arm, sharp onyx gaze set on the man. "What makes you think I of all people make rings?"
The wife finally rose from her kneeling position and gripped his cloak, Sasuke's intense sour look directed at her pleading face. "W-We saw the ring! It was beautiful! Unlike anything we've seen! Uchiha-sama looked so beautiful with that ring! We wanted one too."
Wait...
Uchiha-sama?
With a ring?
And then, it hit him like a bolt of lightning.
"Sakura..."
Without warning, the Uchiha turned from the couple.
Sasuke's gait was much more purposeful, turning on his heel to head for the hospital, the dumbstruck couple blinking in confusion at the man's sudden departure. "W-Wait Uchiha-san will you make us a ring then?! Uchiha-san?!"
Sasuke didn't hear anything, he didn't see anything, all he saw was the hospital in the distance and the woman's words from before echoing in his head.
Uchiha-sama looked so beautiful with that ring!
His grip around the grocery bags tightened and before anyone could blink, he was gone in a flash.
Materializing in the middle of the hospital office may not have been his smartest idea to date, he had been confused and agitated and just wanted to see his wife.
He hadn't quite expected she would've visitors.
Many visitors.
And the dobe.
At least thirteen pairs of eyes stared at him in shock, the sudden appearance of the Uchiha patriarch had instilled a rush of coldness in the room, his tall, imposing form, even with groceries, was a sight that still instilled fear into some of the village folk.
Sakura and Naruto though, were not affected. Naruto immediately sprung up from his seat next to the Head of Konoha Hospital, a wide shocked smile on his face. "Hah? Sasuke?! What are you doing here, 'ttebayo?" He looked excited, as if expecting Sasuke to engage him in their usual verbal stand offs.
Not today.
Sasuke's gaze was solely focused on the pink haired form of his wife. "I apologize for the intrusion, but I need to speak with Dr. Uchiha, it's urgent."
Almost immediately, Sakura's previously surprised expression switched to seriousness and concern, scanning his cloak covered form to asses any injuries but finding none due to the cloth covering his body. She stood up then, turning her attention to the other people clad in white. "My apologies, I'll return shortly, in the meantime the Hokage may continue."
Naruto's intelligent 'What? Me?' was the last thing the Uchiha couple heard before Sakura led her quiet husband out of the room, ignoring the stunned looks from her colleagues to finally lead him into her private office.
Once the door was closed and locked, Sakura's hands immediately glowed green. "Dear, please take off your cloak. Are you injured badly?" Sasuke set down the groceries and shook his head.
"I'm not injured Sakura."
"....Huh?" Sakura's head tilt and her confused expression had always had a certain word labeled to them, one Sasuke wouldn't be caught dead saying out loud in front of other people.
Cute.
Clearing his throat, Sasuke finally spoke. "Did you show your ring to anyone?" His expression was so serious one would think it was a life or death situation.
The pink haired doctor blinked, before inspecting her own hand and sure enough, his ring was there.
The red ruby stared him in the face, a sight that made the corners of his lips quirk in the barest of smirks. "Don't show it anymore."
Sakura's confused expression melted way into shock. "Hah? What? Why?"
Her husband shook his head again. "....A couple thought I was making rings...they.... asked me to make them one for their wedding. After they saw Uchiha-sama wearing it." he rose an eyebrow and then, in that second after he finished speaking, his wife dissolved into laughter.
Sasuke blinked, watching her clutch at her stomach.
What was so funny?
He didn't find it funny. Not at all.
Sasuke pouted. "Sakura."
His wife was giggling madly, wiping at the corner of her eyes. Before finally composing herself enough to speak, in-between giggles. "Sa-Sasuke-kun, I can't believe you teleported here just to tell me this." A large grin was stretching her lips and Sasuke's pout deepened.
"It's serious." A pause. "Sakura, stop laughing."
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry dear I can't help it." the Uchiha matriarch tried to bring her giggles under control if to humor her agitated husband. "My husband teleporting here in the middle of a meeting, telling me not to show my wedding ring off when I thought he was grievously injured?" she giggled, moving closer to look fondly up at his still pouting expression. "It's funny."
"...it's not." Sasuke, had he been a kid, would've puffed his cheeks to show his irritation, but since he was a respectable adult, he only continued pouting.
Sakura smiled, brighter than the sun outside and gently caressed his jaw, the pout almost immediately vanishing. "How about this? I will only show my ring off to Ino and the other girls, okay? That way, people won't think you make them professionally." there was a giggle or two between her sentences but it served enough to appease him.
"Hn." his wife was still giggling, but the familiar warmth and softness pressing against him caused all negativity to fly out of the window.
His sole arm encircled her waist, pressing her against himself as he allowed his nose to bury in her hair and inhale her scent discreetly.
That woman could calm him in a matter of minutes and sometimes, the power she had over him terrified him.
"Better, Sasuke-kun?" Sakura's light, teasing tone entered close to Sasuke's ear and the man pouted, pulling her closer.

masterlist on my profile bio
“Here is something I wasn’t expecting, like... At all.”
The voice of your ex boyfriend should have startled you, but you didn’t even flinch. Perks of being used to someone’s chakra that much.
“Kakashi.” You greeted the shadow clone next to you, while not taking your eyes from the real one, next to a pretty girl. The thick branch you were currently standing made a strange noise when Kakashi appeared, so you were ready to move in case it fell. “I gotta say, babysit you was not on the top of my list for today... Or any day, actually.”
“I got everything under control, y/n. She is not going everywhere.” His tone was harsh, his pride showing. He stood by the tree trunk, hands tucked in his pants pocket as he watched you. Kakashi sighed deeply as he looked at your eyes, which were locked on the real him, shining bright with what he wanted to believe it was fondness and love. But he knew you better before assuming anything about you. “When did you stop believing my abilities?”
You couldn’t hold the sight that left your body. Never, you wanted to reply, but you kept your mouth shut.
"That cloud looks like Naruto." You heard the original Kakashi speaking, his voice echoing through the tree while he was trying to get anything out of the woman - Hanare, you remembered. "And the next one... Is it Sasuke?"
From where you were standing, you could hear perfectly every word they were saying, and Hanare did get your attention once she started to talk about how a younger Kakashi taught her to look in the clouds when she felt alone. Breathing heavily, you tried to push to the back of your mind the thought that you were the one who told him that.
The fact alone that he used it with some random girl - even though it was ages ago - was enough for your blood boil in your veins.
“She could easily use some jutsu on you and get away. We are not aware about her abilities, just that she can get through Ibiki's torture. She is tough. I am not to be blamed if I am the fastest from ANBU.” You frowned when you saw, between the leaves, the way the spy were looking at the original Kakashi. The look was way too familiar for you. It was the same you gave him.
“You seem jealous.” He simply stated, his clone rolling his eyes even though you weren't watching. He bit back an annoyed groan, not knowing how to deal with the whole situation.
“Don’t be ridiculous.” You hissed at him, your heart skipping a beat once you realized you were indeed jealous.
The clone shot his eyebrows up, eyeing you in suspicious, so you did what you did best. Change subjects.
“Your students are on the top of the three now. The blond one is almost falling.” You moved your glance up for a second, before looking down again to the couple.
“They are not known for their hiding abilities.” Kakashi shrugged, while watching the feet of his team. “Even Sasuke is there, no one can run away from curiosity, I guess.”
Following his gaze, you saw the raven boy there. A sad smile spread across your face. “He looks like him, doesn’t he?”
“No, actually. He is nothing like him.” Tilting your head, you noticed a sparkle shining on the corner of his eyes. Amusement, maybe.
“You really like being a sensei, huh?” It slipped before you could contain yourself. “It suits you.”
“I do, actually.” By his squinted eyes, you just knew he was smiling. “But I miss being an ANBU. The thrilling missions. Being feared by the bad guys. Fighting them with you. You, in general.”
You swallowed hard to keep yourself from admitting for both of you how much you have missed him. How much you still loved him.
Breaking up with him was the hardest thing you have done in your life. You two went from sleeping next to each other every single night, touching every time you had a chance to nothing.
The day your best friend killed his entire clan was still a vivid memory inside your head. Thoughts about the hundreds of people dead by his hand have haunted you for so long and you still didn’t understand what happened. How your loving, caring friend become a cold machine capable to murder his family without thinking, leaving only his little brother behind. You have thought about the reasons why he had left Sasuke live, and a spark inside you always shined, hopefully. Spending so much time in the Uchiha complex, you have met Sasuke when he was little a million times. It was always your favorite thing to make him blush, but since what happened you never spoke to him again. It was too painful for you to realize that something was bothering your best friend and you didn’t even notice.
Losing Itachi Uchiha was one of the worst things you have dealt with.
It affected every single relationship in your life. You didn’t know how to trust anyone anymore. Not even the guy you loved the most.
“Did she say anything else?” You questioned him, not showing any signs of being touched by his words, for his sake and mostly yours.
“No, actually. What did Ibiki and Inochi tell you?”
“Everything I needed to know to complete my mission. They didn’t get much though, she had training. Or they are getting soft.”
“Right.” He passed his hand on his face. “So you know.”
“About she not being able to forget you? Yeah, pretty aware, and after hearing this cute cloud story you told her, I kind know why.” You shot back, the words were jumbled as they came out of your mouth.
"Althought you changed a bit, I recognized you when I saw you because you are always in my heart, you are my hope." Every word that came from Hanare's mouth reached your ears. It was like your heart broke into tiny pieces after hearing that, not being able to gaze away from Kakashi's face. Desperation was getting the best of you, you needed to hear his answer.
But his clone had another plan.
He approached you, making you finally lost eye contact with the original one, to stare at his abrupt move. He was watching you with a displeased look on his face, very different from his general deadpan facial expression. You had never seen him like that and to be completely honest, it kind of scared you but at the same time, a part of you was deeply intrigued by what he had in store for you.
“Stop acting like a jealous girlfriend.” Kakashi finally retorted, as you licked your lips under his burning gaze and rested your body against the tree truck he was once standing next to.
But as soon as you opened your mouth to give him a comeback, it happened.
His whole team have fell from the tree, directly on the original Kakashi. The bump made him to collapse on the girl, taking her to the ground with him.
It didn’t take much until you realized his body wasn’t the only thing pressed against her.
His lips were too.
You couldn’t fight against the reactions your body had. Your jaw clenched, as your hands turned into fits.
“y/n...” It was all the clone said before it vanished in a gray smoke, right after you stabbed him with the closest thing you got - which happened to be a sharp branch.
Once it happened, you saw the original Kakashi glance over the tree, as trying to find something. Someone. But you knew the leaves were camouflaging you, unless he activated his sharingan, he wouldn’t see you. Although, he wouldn’t do it. It could raise suspicious from Hanare.
And you were glad for that, because as Kakashi tried to control his genin team, you turned to the other side, trying to run away from him and the tears.
-
“You didn’t go make the exchange.”
Once again, his voice didn’t startle you. Sitting on a random bench on the street, as the night fell, you could see his eyes shining due the orange light coming from behind the walls across the Village.
“Inoichi said y’all didn’t need me.” You lied to him, as he sat next to you, but still keeping a big distance.
“Funny. He told me you requested to be dismissed from the mission.”
You let out a sigh. “And he agreed to that, see? I was not necessary there.”
“You were right before, he is getting soft.” Kakashi let out a dry chuckle next to you. "Didn't cross your mind that maybe I needed you there?"
You sighed exasperatedly, ignoring the thudding in your heart.
“I read your report. She died, huh?” You tried to hold back a scoff, but you didn't manage to do it.
That got his attention, making him turning his head at you, confusion and admiration crossing his face. “Why are you talking like that?”
“I know her type." What you meant was I know how she feels. "I would guess she asked to die by the hands of the guy she loved and you didn't do it. You wouldn't kill her, no way.” You mumbled, glancing over the last ray of sunshine disappearing, the sky ready to fall into darkness.
The lack of an answer gave you the confirmation you needed. Kakashi could do everything, except lying to you.
“Bold move. What if she comes back in the future and actually manage to steal some big information from Konoha?” You started and the beginning of this assumed-to-be argument confused you because he seemed bothered when he first reached you but now he was calm and laid back, despite the fire in his eyes and the fact that he looked like he was waiting for the right moment to drop a bomb on your lap.
“She could have done it already, but she didn’t. I think we are good.” That words alone made your skin tingle and for a moment you had the feeling you were playing a game with him. Although you were not excited at all for that, you decided to play along.
“Yeah, she didn’t do it because of you. What about the next time? What if you are not here anymore?” The words left your lips before you could do much to stop them and you realized your mistake too late when his eyes darkened just a shade and he lift his right eyebrow. The whole situation made your voice cracked on the last question, and as usual, it didn't pass unnoticed to his trained ears.
“I am not Itachi, y/n. I am not leaving.” Your heart stopped for a mere moment as your best friend's name slipped his lips, voice swallowed by assurance. Even trying to turn your head to the other way around, it didn't worked, as he stopped you with a swift movement by gripping your jaw in his fingers and pulling your face to peer at his piercing eyes.
“You can’t be sure about it.” You finally spoke, your tone of honey and milk but your eyes burning with a fiery passion as you looked down, eyeing the floor that was lined with melted ice creams, and swallowed harshly.
“Look, I know the feeling. Losing someone.” The moment he got closer to you passed unnoticed until the moment he placed his hand on your own.
Trying to take his hand away, you felt sick to your stomach as you felt the words sitting in the back of your throat, but for the first time, you decided to give it a shot.
“No, Kakashi, you don’t." You bit your bottom lip, head spinning as guilt settled in the pit of your stomach, but Kakashi did nothing but nodding, encouraging you to keep talking. "I have lost someone close to my heart, just like you did with Obito and Rin. I lost a father figure, like you with Minato. But you don’t know how it feels to lose someone who chooses to leave. Those people had no choice. They died. Itachi did, he had a choice and still he chose not to stay. I am sorry, Kakashi, but it is not the same thing.”
It took some time until he pounded every word, carefully, and as he did it, you couldn't stop but admiring his sculpted face for a moment. Words along the line of gorgeous, stunning, perfect ran around in circles between waves of nervousness and regret.
Eternity had passed until he spoke again, and when he did, you just couldn't believe the words that left his mouth.
“Is that the reason you broke up with me? Because you think I will deliberately leave you?”
You tried to hold a gulp, but it didn't work, feeling your mouth suddenly run dry as you decided that you necessitated to put if off because you were sure that if you kept talking to him, you would end up hitting the nearest thing out of pure frustration and that was the last thing you wanted to do. Especially because the nearest thing happened to be Kakashi.
“Just... Forget it." Coming back to your usual, you kept quiet about your true feelings and you hated yourself for that. Kakashi deserved to know everything that was going through your mind, the guy had always helped you to figure whatever you told him out and was deadly honest with you.
Riddle with emotions you were too afraid to express, you stood up, ready to leave him, but you hesitated for a second, and it was enough for him to grab your wrist. The action itself gave you the feeling your lungs were starting to burn, causing your breathing to heave.
"I don't understand. First, you ask to participate on my mission."
Wait, what?
"Yes, y/n. I know."
But how?
"Inoichi told me."
Eyebrows arched, you got a little shocked he was even answering the questions inside your head.
"You acted like a jealousy girlfriend the whole time. Now, you are acting like you can't stand be near me. So?" The frustration was showing on his tone, clearly. There was a few times when you saw Kakashi actually mad about something, inside his usual deadpan look. Fewer things could cause this reaction on him. You being one of them.
"Kakashi, drop it." You felt a wave of anxiousness fall upon you, as you wet your lips, feeling uncomfortable with where the conversation was heading. How it even landed on the two of you? Again. You were unsure.
"Sorry if I can't be as cold as y-"
You interrupted him, before he could say anything he could regret later. "You can. You do it all the time, except when you are with me. No one can see what you are thinking. No one can wonder what is going inside your head, but I can, because you let me. It is not my fault, Kashi."
The nickname simply slipped of your throat, and even through the mask, you could see him biting his lower lip.
"Fine, I get the part that you broke up with me because you don't love me. What I do not get is-"
The second time interrupting someone was always easier, especially when it was a outburst.
"I didn't break up with you because I stopped loving you, I did because I am afraid to lose you, you idiot!" You blocked everything out, focusing on easing the pain that comes with relationships and working your feelings down until your heart that beat almost for him, each individual beat coursing blood through your veins, metaphorically turned into ice.
Except that, Kakashi managed to melt everything inside you just with a shining glance.
"Wait, you still love me?" He spoke every word slowly, as trying to absorb it and the same time, trying to make you realize what you have just spilled. It was just something he wasn't expecting from you. Not at that moment, not never.
"Of course I do, Kakashi. I love you so much. I'd rather die than lose you, I can't even stand the thought of it." You bit your lip and nodded at your own words. His hand came back to your face again, holding your jaw. More than once, you did your best to look away but his grip on your jaw tighter every time, stopping you from doing it.
"You are not going to lose me. I promise." Your breath hitched at the sound of his voice, and the way his eyes squinted, a proof he smiled carried a warmth that caught you entirely off guard.
"Stop making promises you can't keep!" You choked out, fearful that you were about to cry in front of him and ruin your hard-built reputation. It was like you had fallen to the bottom before and you just didn't know how to go back.
"I promise I will keep that promise." His comment stoke you like a knife and your mouth fell open. What had started as a normal evening had ended in a way that was completely unseen by the two of you.
"Kakashi..." His name on your tongue was more a warning than anything else. It was basically a request from him to stop because everything was so much.
If he noticed it was an advice to be away from you, he ignored it promptly, as he pushed your arm to place you sitting on his lap, each leg on one side of his.
He pulled his mask down, the sight of the lips you were dying to kiss one more time right next to your mouth. "Stop pushing me away. I am not going anywhere. Please, don't make me spend another day away from you."
Kakashi's hand ran down your waist, fingers wrapping around the trousers you wore, body resting against his. His touch was warm, practically radiating confidence after your confession.
"It will be easier for both of us if we keep our distance." You tried to reasonable with him, already trying to get up, but the grip on your pants got tighter.
"Fine. Let's do it, but first." He smashed his lips against yours with urgency, catching you completely off guard. There was no running away from him, from what you had. If one day you lose him, your world would crash down, for sure. Although, little did you realize, you already had lost him.
Honestly, you were the one to blame for that.
Now, he was giving you a chance to get him back, and you hated yourself for not being sure about it. It was simple, actually. He was everything to you. So, for the first time, you decided to have faith on his promises.
He parted the kiss, panting. "Fuck, I thought we needed a last kiss before going separate ways, but now I don't feel like stopping."
"Good, because you are not." You gave him a little peck on his lips, pulling his mask up. "But we are taking this to your apartment."
"Last sex?" He questioned, holding you tight with both arms, noses pressed against each other.
"First last sex." If you were afraid you were going to lose him, you might just well live like it would be the last time you would be seeing him.
"Promise?" You expected that your eyes were mirroring his, filled with love and adoration for the boy with the gray hair you had grown up with, the teenager you had fallen in love with and the man you had needed your entire life. Everything was easier with him around and you just hoped this would be just one more thing on the list.

He tookin a ragged breath and gripped on tighter to his sword. The knight’s blond hairstuck on to his forehead, as sweat ran down his temples. The sight before himseemed akin to a nightmare. The tall grey walls were in shambles, and brightorange flames licked at the torn crests and flags, bearing the sigil of hishouse. He could not believe his eyes. As a boy, he thought his home to beimpregnable, but now, it was all starting to crumble and break, much like hisheart and spirits.
Theknight swallowed, seeking relief from a thirst he hadn’t noticed, but his mouthwas dry, and he found no reprieve. Hesitantly, he took a step forward, hisboots crunching the gravel under his feet. He did not want to look down, as hefeared he may see someone he knew lifeless on the ground. There was one personon his mind who he wished to see–to save–and hoped with all his heart thatthey were okay.
“Myprincess…” he uttered.
Sarada leaned in closer, her nose nearlybrushing the page as she continued to read. She was finally getting to the good parts! The slight romance in the bookwas well written, but far too slow paced. And the dilemma the knight had justdidn’t seem strong enough to drive the kind of character development that heneeded. The dragon’s story was interesting enough, and she liked the hint ofmagic that was sprinkled around the plot.
Unconsciously, she pushed her glasses back upthe bridge of her nose and forced herself to zone out the rest of theworld–meaning her two teammates who were playing soccer outside in herbackyard. They had finished training with Konohamaru fairly early, and Mitsukiand Boruto wanted to wait for Sasuke and Sakura to come home for more training. As for Sarada, she had been training well before the sun was up and wanted to usethis time to relax. Due to their time spent together, Sarada learned how totolerate Boruto and Mitsuki’s loud roughhousing.
For a moment, she looked outside the windowand spotted the two boys having fun, kicking a ball back and forth. It seemedthey were really getting into it, as she could sense with every round, theywere pumping more and more chakra to their legs. She shook her head from sideto side disapprovingly, making a bet to herself that someone was bound to gethurt if they get too carried away.
“Boys…” she muttered and then shrugged. Sheshifted her position on the couch in such a way that she faced the open windowa little more, in order to catch the cool spring breeze coming through. Shesmiled to herself and appreciated how the odds seemed to have been in her favorto read today.
Theknight lifted his gaze to the tower, to see a light shining within. Hopesparked within his heart, sending a wave of bravery and adrenaline through hisbody. He lifted his sword and his shield, preparing himself for anything as hedared to open the tall wooden door. What lay behind could have been anything.Looters? Bandits? The evil mage who created the dragons, or it worse–it couldhave been the beast itself.
The doorcreaked and echoed as the knight pushed it open, cautious for anything thatmight come to attack. The hall was dark, but the smell of burnt flesh and smokefilled his nostrils, unsettling him with every step he took. All his senseswere in overdrive. Despite the dying flames at the corners of the room, he feltcold and heard the sound of dripping water.
Howstrange… the knight thought.
A lowrumble started to echo, and slowly got louder and louder to a roar until itshook the ground, his body, and his resolve. Out of the white smoke, a pair ofbright yellow eyes revealed itself, and a forked tongue came forward, followedby a hiss.
Was thisthe same beast? The blood-curdling roar earlier seemed like it came from anotherworldly creature, but what presented itself before him was a largeserpentine creature with yellow eyes and white scales. It looked majestic bututterly villainous.
For amoment, the knight felt his knees shake before the creature. He wanted to runand save himself. However, before he could, the images of his princess flashedbefore his memory. Her sweet smile, and melodious laugh. With one, raggedbreath, he stilled himself and made a decision. He was going to fight, not onlyfor her but for his whole clan. His father, mother, sister…
Theknight gritted his teeth. He would do this—go all out for them. He couldn’t letthem down! Wordlessly, he widened his stance, raised his shield to cover hisbody, and lifted his eyes as well as his sword towards the beast. With one bigbreath, he opened his mouth and yelled as he ran towards the beast.
“AAAAAAAH!”
“SARADAAAAAA!”
“Huh?” The next thing she knew, the soccerball hit her right between the eyes and knocked her off the sofa.
.
.
.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”
Sarada’s head hurt, and there was a burningsensation on her forehead.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it, yaknow?”
The noise was making her head hurt even more. Her brows knitted together and her mouth twisted as she tried to open her eyes.
A different voice floated towards her, calmer, this time. “Sarada, can you hear me?”
She grumbled out something incoherent as shetried to sit up and open her eyes. Her world was a blur, and it took her awhile to realize that she wasn’t wearing her glasses as she rubbed at her eyes. Before her, there were two blobs of color. One was blond, black and pink, theother blue and white. “Where are my glasses?”
No one responded for a few seconds andstarted to feel a little annoyed. “Do I really have to look for them myself?”
“Well… umm…” Boruto had a hard time speaking, for some reason.
Mitsuki lifted her palms up in the air andplaced down to plastic items on it. She didn’t need to have perfect vision toknow what was in her hands. Her glasses were snapped in half, the glass crackedand a chunk was missing. Her vision went from blurry blobs of color to nothingbut red.
Justgreat!
She let out a shout of frustration. “I’m goingto kill you!”
“I said I was sorry!” Boruto jumped up to his feet, genuinely afraid for hislife. Sarada with perfect vision was one thing, but a blind one? She could go on crushing and making craters aimlesslyand still harm her target. “I didn’tmean it I swear!”
She sniffed, and Boruto stopped yelling. Helooked down at her and felt horrible. It looked like she was going to cry. Hehated it when she cried.
Her hands were up, hiding her face. “I wasjust getting to the good parts…”
Mitsuki looked around and found a discardedbook on the floor. He flipped it open and scanned the page. “Were you readingthis?”
She didn’t look his way but she nodded herhead.
“What part were you in?” Mitsuki asked.
“Just when the knight was about to attack thedragon.”
“A knight?”Boruto’s voice lifted and his eyes lit up.
“Dragon?” Mitsuki gave Boruto a look and asmile grew on his face.
The blond boy grinned cheekily and nodded.Without a word, the two boys hoisted Sarada up and sat her back down on thesofa. She protested, but her complaints fell on deaf ears.
“Just sit down, we’ll read the rest out toyou, okay?” Boruto grinned and sat down on the center table, facing her.
Mitsuki nodded and sat down next to Boruto. Heopened the page and found where Sarada had left off. “We’ll take turns.”
“I’ll read out the knight’s parts!” Heannounced valiantly.
“And I the dragon.”Mitsuki’s emphasis on the last word sent chills down Sarada’s back. It was toofitting.
“Okay, fine.” She pouted. “But don’t thinkthis will make me forget that you kicked a ball at my face!”
Sarada grinned victoriously and hugged apillow to her chest, wishing the throbbing on her forehead would stop. It wasdifferent reading the book herself, but she thought having it read out loudwould be fun, too. Like listening to an audiobook.
Boruto cleared his throat and tried to alterhis voice to go deeper, giving it a more dramatic flair. “The knight ranforward, wielding his weapon at the dragon. The beast snarled and lungedforward, trying to crush the knight. But he dodged and took the opportunity tostrike the beast, but was far too quick!”
Mitsuki took the book and read, “Theserpent-like creature slithered farther, gauging the knight from a distance.Perhaps it had slain a lot of warriors, but never was he faced with such avaliant foe. His forked tongue came darting out, and a low hissssing sound started to fill the hall.”
He then handed the book over to Boruto whogrinned, “You’re pretty good at this, Mitsuki!”
The boy grinned, and was about to respond butwas hushed by Sarada who demanded they stop chatting and keep reading. Borutopouted, and held one side of the book, letting Mitsuki hold the other side. They scootched closer together, and Boruto resumed his reading.
“The knight shook, feeling the fear creep upto chest once again but he stood firm!”Boruto jumped up and held his fist up in the air, pretending to be holding asword. “He raised his sword and resolve filled his blue eyes. I will not lose!” He ran into thekitchen and a few pots and pans crashed together, as he spoke. “I will do thisfor my family!” More clattering happened in the kitchen and Sarada and Mitsukitried to take a look at what he was doing.
“What are you doing?” Sarada demanded, but shegot no response from Boruto.
Boruto came running back into the living room,a pasta strainer on his head, one hand holding on to a ladle and his other handgripped a pot cover, using it as a shield.
Mitsuki grinned and approached him, taking thebook from his clumsy hold, as he tried to balance it out with the ladle. Hetook in Boruto’s appearance once more and read from the book aloud, “The dragonstood taller,” as he read, Mitsuki’s posture straightened, and slowly, hislimbs started to elongate and his voice got deeper, “Hissssssing its tongue out at the knight, yellow eyes glinted withmalice and challenge.”
The two boys stood facing each other for a fewseconds, pausing for dramatic flair. The top of Mitsuki’s head was nearlytouching the ceiling, and Boruto’s eyes shone with determination, fullyabsorbing the role of the knight. He held up the lid to cover his chest andlifted the ladle overhead, poised to strike.
“Do your worse, you foul beast!” Boruto wasadlibbing now, as Mitsuki had dropped the book to the ground. The boys werereally getting into their role play, completely forgetting that they weresupposed to be reading it out to Sarada.
“AAAAAAAAAH!” Boruto shouted and ran towardsMitsuki, swinging the ladle from side to side. Mitsuki evaded his strikes withfluid, serpentine motions. He struck back, extending his arm and a pair ofwhite snakes flew out of his sleeve.
Boruto rolled to the right to dodge, legshitting the side table, knocking over some of the frames. The lampshade shookand the glass tingled as the table wobbled.
“What are you doing?” Sarada shrieked. Perhapsthe boys forgot, she may have been blind without her glasses, but she certainlywasn’t deaf. The ruckus they were making inside her home was starting to makeher panic. Her Mama and Papa would be home any minute! What would they say ifthe place was a mess? She tried to stand from the couch but fell back on thethrow pillows as Mitsuki darted for Boruto, knocking her over.
“You’ll pay for all of this, Dragon!” Borutoshouted. He pumped chakra to hisfeet as he planned to launch himself at Mitsuki as the final blow.
Mitsuki coiled in on himself, looking atstriking Boruto head on, as well.
They stared each other down, and then, struck.

Sasuke and Sakura approached their home, carrying bags full of grocery for dinner. Their conversation was cut when theyheard something crash and break inside.
“What was that?” Concern shone in her eyes.
He opened his mouth to share his inference ashe opened the door but was cut off yet again when a loud shout and anothercrash echoed. It sounded like…
“Oh my god.” Sakura dropped the bags on thefloor, hurriedly removed her shoes and rushed inside.
The scene before her was horrible. Her livingroom was in ruins. The picture frames were all over the floor, knocked off thetables. The rug was in disarray and some of the throw pillows had been cutopen, the white stuffing bursting through. The lampshade lay forgotten on thefloor, a crack on the shade and the bulb.
“What happened?” She demanded.
Mitsuki had his serpents wound around Boruto’smidsection, holding his left arm down while his right hand held the ladle up.It clunked on the ground as soon as he saw Sakura. Sarada, on the other hand, was on the floor, groping around for what Sakura guessed were her brokenglasses to her left.
“Mama?” Sarada looked her way and squinted.
“H-hey there… Auntie Sakura… Y-you’re lookingas pretty as always, ya know?” Boruto laughed nervously.
The vein in her forehead throbbed. If Borutothought that he was going to get away with this by flattering her, he waswrong. Sakura was usually very kind and patient to the genins, but ruining herliving room was seriously pushing it.
“Sakura.” Her husband stood beside her, looking her way first, before slowly scanning the living room. If Sasuke wasshocked, he showed no signs of it on his face. His dark gaze landed on hisstudent and Mitsuki, looking at them from head to toe, and then back up again.Sasuke quirked a brow up, wordlessly commanding the boys to explain themselves.
Mitsuki retracted his snakes, setting Borutoback on his feet, the pasta strainer fell from his head, clattering down on thefloor. The loud sound made Boruto ground his teeth, bracing himself as well forthe scolding he was going to receive. Sasuke beating him at training was badenough, but Auntie Sakura’s scolding was legendary.
Sakura placed her hands on her hips “Well?”
Mitsuki was usually blissfully unaware aboutthings like these, but the hard look in Sakura’s eyes was enough to make himrealize they were in trouble.
The living room was silent, but oddly enough,it wasn’t the boys with their explaining that cut through, it was Sarada’svoice.
“Mama, Papa…” her voice was small andapologetic. “Boruto and Mitsuki were helping me.”
“Helping you?” Sakura echoed. “With what?”
“Reading my book…” Sarada explained. “You see…umm…” she opened her palms and revealed to them her broken glasses. “I wasalready at the good parts, and I just wanted to know what happened next soBoruto and Mitsuki decided to read it to me.”
Sakura pursed her lips. She wasn’t exactlyconvinced, and there was also the topic of how her glasses broke in the firstplace. Her instinct was to scold the three of them, but the way her daughterlooked so apologetic and Boruto looked like a struck puppy, made her lose herresolve. She sighed. “What am I going to do with the three of you?” A smallsmile on her face.
Sasuke smirked. “The two boys will clean upthis mess, of course.”
Mitsuki and Boruto looked at him, disbelievingly. Was that it? This was their only punishment?
“And then do laps around the Uchiha groundsuntil they can no longer run,” Sasuke added.
Boruto groaned but was relieved that was allthe punishment they were going to receive.
“Perhaps you should take Sarada to get a newpair of glasses, darling.” Sakura turned to him. “I’ll stay here and watch theboys.”
Sasuke smirked. “Aa.”
Father and daughter set out to the clinic, with Sasuke holding on to Sarada’s hand, carefully guiding her so she won’ttrip. Sakura, Mitsuki, and Boruto stayed behind, trying to salvage what theycould.
Sakura stood and gave a sermon as the two boysswept and segregated the broken pieces of decor and furniture. Mitsuki seemedto have taken it better, not saying a word, but Boruto kept a stubbornexpression on his face, his lower lip jutting out.
“Do you have something to say, Boruto?” Sakuraasked. Her tone wasn’t harsh, or cold, not even the usual reprimanding tonemothers take on. It was light, but it was clear as day that she wasn’t messingaround, either.
He stopped sweeping but his head still hunglow. Slowly, he looked at her. That stubborn look on his face was slowlystarting to melt and his lower lip shook.
The poor boy really was sorry, she could seethat. But she also wanted to hear something else from him.
“I didn’t mean to, auntie Sakura.” The way hisvoice cracked made her see him in another light, and she felt like she waslooking at his younger self, back when he was a toddler and covered in mud, scolded at for coming into the kitchen and getting the floor dirty. Sakura’sface softened, she really didn’t have the heart to stay angry at him.
“I’m sorry, we got carried away…” he loweredhis gaze, too embarrassed to keep looking at her.
Mitsuki silently watched the exchange. Hecontemplated if he should apologize as well but decided to wait for Sakura’sresponse first.
“I know you didn’t mean it, Boruto.” Sakurasmiled. “And I’m not angry. I just wanted to hear you apologize.”
Boruto snapped his gaze at her, tears poolingat the corner of his eyes, a smile slowly forming on his face.
Sakura grinned at him and then smirked. “Butdon’t think Hinata isn’t going to hear about this.”
That smile on Boruto’s face melted and wasreplaced by a look of horror. Not even all the gods in the sky could save himfrom his mother’s wrath.

Sarada came back home with her father, wearinga pair of temporary glasses until Karin could send her a new pair. She wasworried the entire time that her Mama might have been too hard on herteammates. Sarada felt sorry for them, even if this was technically theirfault. They were only trying to help.
“Don’t worry, Sarada,” Sasuke comforted her.“Sakura’s scary but she has a kind heart.”
She giggled at that, although she knew deepdown it was true.
Once they reached home, she could smell foodand heard lively chatter. Mitsuki was setting the table, and Boruto wasbringing the dishes over to the table.
“Welcome home,” Mitsuki greeted them both.
“Just in time!” Sakura grinned. “Dinner isready.”
The five of them sat down and enjoyed theirmeal. Her papa was right, Sarada had nothing to worry about. Boruto alsowhispered to her that her mama was scary, but he was relieved that she let themoff the hook.
“I’m in for it when I get home, though.”Boruto groaned, making Sarada and Mitsuki laugh.
After they had finished dinner, the three ofthem went back to the living room, Boruto and Mitsuki promised they would readto her, and they did.
Althoughthe knight did not slay the dragon, he was able to take the princess andescape. For now, he would consider this as a success, as he did not lose sightof what was more important—the precious people in his life. He could slay thedragon another day, but he would not risk the life of his love for his prideand revenge.
“Sounds like he has his priorities right,”Mitsuki commented.
“He’s not dumb, unlike most main characters,”Sarada agreed.
“Are you kidding?” Boruto was so shocked histeammates would say that. “If he just went straight for the heart he could havedone both!”
“And risk knocking the tower over? Theprincess would have died!” Sarada argued.
The two of them bickered on a little more, with Mitsuki smiling, enjoying their banter, as per usual.
Sasuke and Sakura listened in the kitchen, asthey enjoyed a cup of tea. They looked at each other with soft gazes, genuinelyhappy that their daughter has made very good friends.
“Kind of reminds me us three, don’t youthink?” Sakura smiled.
Sasuke took a sip of his tea, hiding a smallsmile on his lips. “Aa.”

It was still hard for Konohamaru to believe, but he knew it to be true; Naruto wouldn’t lie about something like that.
“But to think that he’d keep it a secret from me” he thought with a sigh. Why had he been the one assigned to look after the boy when Naruto knew of his family’s history with Mistuki’s? Literally anyone else could’ve done it!
“You seem troubled” Naruto says casually as he suddenly sits down next to him. Konohamaru hadn’t even heard him coming “Something on your mind?”
As much as Konohamaru would’ve liked to snap at him, Naruto was his Hokage, so he controls himself, simply giving the man a look that clearly said “Are you kidding me?”
Naruto lets out a laugh before smiling sadly, which catches the younger man off guard.
“You think that I should’ve told you earlier, aren’t you?” he asks.
“Yes” the answer comes immediately “Preferably as soon as you admitted him in to the academy.”
“Is that so?” Naruto asks “Had I done that, what would you have done differently?”
Konohomaru stays silent at that, wondering what to answer. What would he have done differently? He’d been warier around the boy, that’s a given, but other than that? It’s not like Mitsuki ever did anything to harm anyone, Boruto dragging him in some of his pranks not counting, so there was no reason for him to be hard on the boy. Orochimaru’s son or not, Konohamaru didn’t want to treat him unfairly.
“Nothing, really” he admits “But it would’ve been good for me to know, just in case something had gone wrong.”
“Shino knew. Iruka too, of course” Naruto says, quickly adding: “I told them not to tell anyone.”
Logically, it made sense; Iruka was the principal, and Shino had been the class’s instructor. However, if those were the reasons, shouldn’t he had been told when he became Mitsuki’s team captain?
“Hang on” he thinks “Anko-san doesn’t know?”
Naruto just shrugs.
“I never told her, but she’s not stupid. As a snake user and Orochimaru’s former student, she probably figured it out at some point” to Konohamaru, that made it sound like he was stupid for not figuring it out. Or maybe Naruto didn’t mean it that way; unlike Anko, he didn’t know Orochimaru personally, even though he had met the man a time or two when delivering messages to the ones watching him. He preferred it that way, too, though since he was Mitsuki’s teacher now, he supposed it was only a matter of time before he had to deal with the man. And with that in mind-
“Did Mitsuki run away? Or did Orochimaru sent him here?”
“Neither, apparently” Naruto says, much to his surprise “He said that Mitsuki wanted to come to Konoha and that he simply allowed it, wanting his kid to make his own choices or something.”
“…And how do we know that it’s the truth?” Konohamaru couldn’t help but ask “How do we know that he isn’t here to spy for Orochimaru?”
“We don’t” Naruto says with a shrug, his face growing serious “But he’s a child, and one of our own genin no less. Unless there’s a good reason to suspect otherwise, we will consider him innocent.”
Konohamaru almost, almost says that there is a good reason, with the boy leaving the village on his own under suspicious circumstances and all, but holds his tongue. That was nothing Naruto didn’t know already.
“While I do worry, the fact stands that Mitsuki is a Konoha genin” the Hokage says “Until we have actual proof, he’s innocent.”
Naruto stands up, stretching.
“Honestly, you know him better than I do. He’s your student after all” the blond says “What would make him, the Mitsuki you know, act out on his own?”
Honestly, Konohamaru didn’t know. His impression of Mitsuki before this mess was that he was a good kid, if not one that took things a bit too lightly sometimes, and that he was talented. But what did he really know of Mitsuki as a person? Not much, he now realized.
“I don’t know” he admitted “Should we contact Yamato-san and the others? Tell them to keep an eye on Orochimaru, just in case Mitsuki tries to get in to contact.”
Naruto frowns, and there is a look on his face that Konohamaru can’t quite read, but it’s not a pleased one.
“…Perhaps I’ll do that” he says, turning to leave “I’ll see you later, grandson of the third Hokage.”
“Yeah” Konohamaru says, only realizing what Naruto had said after the man was gone. How long had it been again that anyone had addressed him as that? As much as he had loved and respected his grandfather, he still hated when someone did that. He was his own person and-
It hit him like a lightning, and Konohamaru lets out a disbelieving bark of laughter. Of course, Naruto had called him that on purpose, just to make a point. Despite being the grandson of the third, Konohamaru was his own person.
And Mitsuki was his own person as well.
Of course, with him being Orochimaru’s son, it was a fact that some caution should be practiced, but he was still Mitsuki, a person of his own and Konohamaru’s student. As his teacher, it was his responsibility to have faith in the boy and see what he was up to, not to mention guide him back on the right track if he got lost. And that’s what he was going to do.
Mitsuki threw his phone meters away, it crashing as soon as it hit a wall. His head was resting against the couch fabric, trying to calm down his own breathing. The only thing showing it wasn’t working was his jaw clenched and his hand holding thigh your knees, which were resting on his lap.
“Boruto again?” You whispered as one white snake curled on your hand, startled by Mitsuki’s reaction.
“That son of a bitch almost lost a hand while fighting alone with some rogue ninjas. He was lucky Sarada was there to take care of him or he would be dead by now.” Mitsuki barked, but you knew he wasn’t actually mad at you.
Since you met him when both were seventeen, you had been together. Of course, sometimes it was still strange how a high trained ninja managed to fall for a simple civilian, but it was what happened. You worked on a vet hospital in Konoha and the first time Mitsuki entered the room, you knew he was the best thing you have laid your eyes on. It didn’t help either the fact that his pets were snakes, one of your favorite animals of all time. So, it started with both of you going to each other’s house to know your snakes, and ended up with you two living together in the same apartment for three years now.
“Mitsuki, please, not cursing in front of the kids.” You warned, as Mitsuki’s confused eyes found yours.
Pointing to the snake tangled on your arm, you saw Mitsuki’s mouth corner lift a little bit. Making him smile was your favorite thing in the world and lately, it had been more and more hard to do.
On a mission two weeks from that moment, Mitsuki got really hurt while trying to rescue some kids from some bandits. He faced six ninjas alone and managed to come up alive and with the children he was so eager to save. Sadly, it took its tools on him, since he had been hit with so many different jutsu. It was incredible how fast he could recover, but even his monstrous recover couldn’t run away from it.
In other words, after spending so much time at home, he was bored. You could see in his eyes how much he missed the action, and everything that came with his job. Working the most time of the day, you didn’t spend much time with him either, and that alone only made everything worse.
“Do you want to visit him on the hospital?” You questioned him, as he caressed your leg with his thumb.
“He’s okay. Already home with Sarada.” Mitsuki replied, seeming to be lost in his own thoughts.
“Wanna go there?” The white snake on your hand, feeling it was out of the danger, crawled until Mitsuki’s hand on your leg, making him stop touching your skin. “It seems I am not the only one who enjoys you petting.”
Mitsuki passed one thumb on the snake’s head, it closing its eyes in response. “He likes me better. They all do.” He teased.
“No way! They preferred to sleep with me, I am sure about that!” You pouted, crossing your arms across your chest.
“Because I usually wake up earlier. I have never seen such sleepy snakes.” He retorted, putting the snake on the ground so it could find the others. “But if makes you feel better, I prefer sleep with you.”
“You are stealing my kids away from me, I am mad at you.” You stood up quickly, already moving to the kitchen when you felt two arms wrapping around your waist. It was always hard to walk away from Mitsuki when he had a jutsu where he could stretch himself.
Mitsuki pulled you until you fell on his lap, his arms now back to normal but still wrapped around you. He placed a kiss on the back of your neck. “Maybe we should have kids.”
“Like, more snakes?” You thought about the subject. “I don’t see why not.”
“No, y/n.” Mitsuki whispered against your skin. “Actual kids. Children. Human children.”
“Oh.” You opened your mouth in realization. His mouth was still working wonders on your neck and it was really hard to concentrate on the conversation like that. “You are just saying it because you are bored. A kid isn’t the same thing as a bunch of snakes.”
“They eat, they sleep. It’s quite the same if you ask me.” Mitsuki replied, as he used his hands to turn you on his lap, sitting now facing him.
“They cry. They demand time, which, honestly, we don’t have. Soon you will be back to your missions and I have a hospital to run.” You pointed out as he leaned in to place a quick kiss on your lips.
“We would figure out. I could take less missions and help Sarada more in the office. I am sure Hinata, Sakura and Orochimaru would love to help as well.” He proposed, his hands traveling your sides.
“Orochimaru as your parent who likes to experiment on people?” You arched your brow, as his fingers opened your bra.
“He had stopped doing it for a while now. He wouldn’t do it on his grandchildren.” Mitsuki stated.
“He did on you, his son.” Impatiently, you grabbed the hem of his shirt and tossed it out.
“I didn’t say he was perfect.” Mitsuki shrugged, your fingertips contouring his muscles. You narrowed your eyes at him, playfully. “Fine, I’ll let this go. For now.” He added, leaning in to peck your lips carefully. “But this subject is coming back, soon or later.”
“While we are at it, why don’t we train to make them?” You teased, licking your lips.
“Why not?” Mitsuki smiled, wrapping his arms around your waist and lifting you up from the couch, while placing a wet kiss on your neck. As he walked both of you to the bedroom, you couldn’t push away the thought that maybe having a kid with him wasn’t a bad idea, after all.
“Let’s do it.” You said, before you two could reach the room.
“Uhm, we are already going to, y/n-chan.”
“No, I mean. Let’s have a baby. Let’s make one, right now.” Mitsuki shot his eyebrows high and looked at you as expecting you would say it was a joke at any moment.
“Are you sure?” He needed a confirmation badly.
You only nodded.
“Let’s do it then.” Mitsuki opened the door with a kick, following towards the bed right away. You laughed as he placed you on the bed, carefully, giving you little kisses all over your face.
You knew no matter what happened between you two, what came at your way, it would only help your connection get stronger.

“Are you sure about this?”
Denki rolled his eyes, again. Of course he was sure about it. There was one thing Denki was extremely better than Boruto: his tech skills. The blond boy barely knew how to turn on his computer. So, when Denki got drunk by the first time ever, his first thought was to hack into Boruto’s account.
“When did you start to chicken out on these things, Iwabe?” Denki replied, his fingers moving rapidly on his keyboard and a smirk plastered on his face.
From where Denki was standing, he heard Iwabe’s deep sigh. He wouldn’t stop him. In fact, he knew his friend was almost as excited to see where this were going.
“There you go. His password is…” Denki adjusted his glasses to make sure he was reading it right. “UzumakiDelicious. He gotta be kidding me.”
Iwabe got closer to see and started laughing tremendously. “Ok, I definitely don’t feel any guilt now.”
“Ok, we are in.” Denki looked up to his friend. “Where should we start?”
Iwabe just smirked devilish as Denki almost read his mind. “Sarada.” Both said in unison.
To their surprise, but not really, she was the first at the chat, which indicated that she was the last person he talked to. Clicking on their conversation, the air got stuck in both of their throat’s and Denki felt his heart pounding like crazy.

“They are…” Denki started, his eyes widened and his mouth agape.
“DATING!” Iwabe completed, his tone a bit lower than he wished.
Denki closed the conversation when an eggplant emoji appeared. He didn’t want to believe his own eyes. Boruto and Sarada were dating behind their backs.
“So, what now?” Iwabe looked at Denki, who just had another idea on how to mess with Boruto and he knew exactly who would be perfect to help him.
-
“I don’t wanna do it,” Iwabe whined, facepalming himself.
Shikadai put a hand on Iwabe’s shoulder and squeezed it. “You’re doing it. It can’t be anyone else, Iwabe. Boruto would know something was off. None of us would never hit on Sarada. You, on the other hand, are just unpredictable.”
They were all sit around a table on their favorite coffee shop, waiting for the new couple to appear.
“We could just punch them until they say the truth.” Chocho suggested, folding her arms across her chest. “I can’t believe she didn’t tell me. Me.”
“They didn’t tell anyone, Chubbs. Don’t take it personal.” Inojin shrugged, taking a sip on his drink.
“Isn’t that what we are doing? Taking it personal?” Iwabe suggested and all of them poundered their actions for a moment. Denki was the first one to nod.
Boruto and Sarada didn’t take much to arrive at the coffee shop. Sarada got there first, and Boruto followed her three minutes after. If it was earlier, no one would think it suspicious, but now, they knew what it meant.
As Shikadai and Denki planned, Sarada sat next to Iwabe. When Boruto arrived, the only seat he had was between Denki and Shikadai, right in front of Sarada. Chocho was at the top of the table, while Shikadai and Inojin were next to Iwabe.
It was only when Sarada started to laugh about something stupid Boruto said, Iwabe did his first move.
“You look so beautiful when you smile.” He blurted out, his gaze locked on Sarada’s, now, pink cheeks. She put one strand of hair behind her ear and looked down, embarrassed.
“Where did that come from?” Inojin smirked. Denki wanted to give Inojin that, while everyone else was literally almost out of breath trying to contain a laugh - except maybe for Chocho, who seem like on the edge of punching Boruto -, the pale blond guy was simply putting an act. “Are you finally tell her you have been crushing on her since, well, always?”
His last comment made even Iwabe’s jaw to drop. Shikadai coughed, to cover up the laugh wanting to escape while Denki bit his lower lip and risked a look on his other blond friend. Boruto remained impassive, but one of his eyebrows was up.
While Sarada, well, her color face matched her outfit.
“Inojin! How rude to blurt things like that.” Chocho said after a while. “But yeah, it has been way too long. Just ask her out already, Iwabe.”
Boruto stood up, bringing the attention of everyone, except for Shikadai’s, who were starting at Sarada. He saw the exact moment Sarada slightly shook her head, silently scolding him for his little scene.
Shikadai smiled. So, it was true. They were actually dating.
“Is there something wrong, Boruto?” Inojin asked, in a mock-innocent tone. Boruto glared at him, before taking in a deep breath.
“I forgot to order something to drink.” Boruto replied, already leaving the table.
Sarada’s gaze followed him the whole time and everyone now watched her. They wondered how long they would to continue pretending in front of them.
Iwabe didn’t say anything, but he was really intrigued with this side of Boruto. At least, it did help him to gather strength to keep going.
When Boruto returned to the table, Iwabe pretended to take an eyelash under Sarada’s eyes. “I am sorry for all this. I should’ve said something earlier.”
Denki scratched his nose, looking away to hide the amusement on his gaze. Everyone in the table, except for Boruto, had the same look on their faces.
“No- No, Iwabe.” Sarada put her hands up, in a surrender gesture. “It’s fine. No need to apologize.”
“So,” Iwabe took a deep breath. If it was to keep him from laughing or for actually acting, their friends didn’t know. “Would you give me a chance to take you on a date?”
A crack noise filled the space between all of them, all the heads turning to the guy who did it. Boruto’s cup was shattered on the table, the coffee spilled on his shirt, but his eyes were steady on Sarada’s face with a frown.
“Boruto, you seem bothered. Is there anything wrong?” Shikadai asked and he felt the exact moment where Boruto lost it.
“She can’t go on a date with you, ‘ttebasa.” Boruto’s deep rusky voice just made Iwabe laugh.
“Why is that?” He asked in response, narrowing his eyes while a smile were playing on his lips. He knew what was coming.
“Cause she’s already taken!” Boruto stood up, again, looking down to Iwabe and Sarada.
That was the exact moment all of them started to laugh, earning confused looks from both Boruto and Sarada.
“But seriously, how did we never notice that?” Chocho pointed to Boruto, then Sarada. “It’s obvious!”
“We weren’t paying attention. Nobody ever tried to make a move on them before.” Shikadai explained, wiping away a tear.
Boruto’s frown got even deeper. “What is happening?”
“We know the two of you are dating.” Denki told them.
“How didn’t you tell me about it?” Chocho pointed to Sarada, who wasn’t being able to follow her thoughts.
Boruto looked away, his cheeks tinted a new shade of red, while Sarada was standing there, her mouth in a ‘O’ shape.
“When?” She asked at the same time Boruto mouthed a how.
“A week.” Denki shrugged, feeling flushed about the explanation he had to give. “So, I may or may not have gotten drunk and decide that hacking to your account to mess with you was a good idea. The idea was to send Sarada a full declaration of love, but when we opened it...”
It was clear to everybody the way Sarada sunk on her chair, covering her face.
“Hm, so, what did you read? Exactly?” Boruto gulped, his hands on his hips.
“Something about Sarada not knowing why she was dating you.” Denki answered, he thought it was a good idea to let the eggplant emoji out of the conversation.
The relief that took both of Sarada and Boruto was instantaneous.
Boruto contoured the table and stopped behind Sarada, putting both of hands on her shoulders. The girl peered up at him, smiling.
“So, the cat is out of the bag. Finally, and now I can do this in public.”
He leaned in, capturing Sarada’s lips with his. She smiled against his mouth, especially when they started to hear a few ‘ewwwwwww’ and ‘oh get a room you two’ coming from their friends.
Boruto opened his eyes, looking around the table, his mouth stil against Sarada’s. His voice was almost inaudible. “Don’t ew me, you guys were the one who outed us and now you are about to witness me on full boyfriend mode. Good luck, guys!”
“Shannaro,” Sarada said under her breath, still smiling.
“We released a monster.” Iwabe facepalmed himself once again, while all the others nodded.
They thought they were messing with the new couple, but they just ended up making them a favour. Basically, all their friends do was to give them new places to hook up, but they didn’t mind. They were actually happy to finally see them finding their way to each other and because of it, they would find a way to deal with all the new PDA.
