idk if you've done this already but would you be open to tell us your favorite and least favorite zelda games?
TOP 5:
Majora's Mask (if it weren't for Majora's Mask, Time Gate literally would not exist, so uh, yeah. my love for time travel, time loops, dark fantasy, tragic endings, all of it can be traced back in some way to Majora's Mask, it's the Zelda series' happiest accident)
Wind Waker (my big brother surprised me with this game for my birthday when i was a kid and it was the best day ever, i was fortunately young enough at the time and not on the Internet that i didn't have my perception of this game ruined by all the chuds complaining about it being "too cartoony", thank christ for that because it's a great game and has way more content than people give it credit for)
Twilight Princess (when i was like 11 years old i snuck out of my room christmas night so i could very gently tear open the wrapping paper and peek at it, i spent hours on the computer buffering the trailer for it and watching it over and over again LOL funnily enough i was 'meh' the first time i played and beat it but it really grew on me during subsequent playthroughs)
Ocarina of Time (the OG, i definitely got tired of it after a while but i've livened up my OoT experience with randomizers huehuehue)
Breath of the Wild (i actually kinda don't consider this one a 'Zelda' game tbh but i sunk like 200+ hours into it including the entirety of the Korok seed quest so... yeah i guess it belongs here)
BOTTOM 5:
Phantom Hourglass (was super hyped to play this back in the day and then super bummed out when it sucked ass)
Tears of the Kingdom (the biggest thrill I got playing this game was diving into the Depths for the first time because I had NO CLUE they were in the game, and then after like 20 hours and multiple repeats of the same cutscenes from different perspectives I realized the Depths were just an empty map of nothing and the whole game was just Breath of the Wild But We Made It Worse™️)
Majora's Mask 3D (holy fuck this game sucks so much dick, they nuked my Zora swimming mechanics and Giant's Mask fight, how did they make the moon LESS scary)
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (my first introduction to this game was on the Gamecube and it is every bit as difficult and frustrating as people make it sound, 0/10 do not recommend)
Skyward Sword (i would actually rather attempt Zelda II again than ever play this fucking game again. i didn't exactly have refined tastes back then like i do now either, so i'd play basically anything and i STILL DIDN'T LIKE IT. i would happily go on pretending skyward sword never existed, i basically paid $70+ for a new wiimote and the soundtrack because those were the only good things to come out of this dumpster fire of a game. and if you think i'm being unfair to it, I love and still play Starfox Adventures, that should tell you how awful skyward sword is to me-)
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Spirit Tracks (honestly pretty slept on, it's not a masterpiece by any means but definitely an improvement on Phantom Hourglass' gimmicks, the soundtrack is really charming and it's one of the few games to this day where Zelda gets to share the spotlight with Link with decent dialogue and inclusion through the Phantom Armor mechanics)
A Link Between Worlds (amazing sequel to A Link to the Past, I haven't played it since it first released but I remember having a lot of fun with it, idk if I'll ever play it again but maybe someday)
A Link to the Past (the only reason this one isn't in my top 5 is because i grew up in the 2000's and so it's competing with most of my faves from that era)
Ultimate Trial (romhack of Ocarina of Time, it's magnificent and it would easily be in my top 5 if it was a real game, it's a great challenge for OoT simps and the story actually made me fucking sob, go play it)
Minish Cap (might not be a major mainline Zelda game but still worth playing at least once, it's very charming, has a great companion dynamic with Ezlo, and has some great sidequest content)
Hyrule Warriors (only reason this one isn't in my top 5 is because it's not a mainline Zelda game but my husband and I have literally sunk HOURS into this game, the definitive version on Switch is actually borderline inhumane with how much content it has. it's also basically just Zelda Fanfiction The Game™️ so it's great fun for anyone who's a long time Zelda fan)
If there's a title missing from these lists, it's either because I'm completely neutral towards them or have not played them !
