TM King Baudouin of Belgium and Queen Fabiola de Mora y Aragón.
Boudewijn is the eldest son of Leopold III and his first wife Astrid, a princess of Sweden who died in a car accident only two years since becoming queen consort.
The couple married in 1960 and did not have children; five pregancies led to miscarriages. Doña Fabiola spoke of her misfortunes in 2008, saying:
"You know, I myself lost five children. You learn something from that experience. I had problems with all my pregnancies, but you know, in the end I think life is beautiful."
Balduin died in 1993, after 42 years as King of the Belgians. His is the sole foreign state funeral that HM Queen Elizabeth II has attended as regnant. Doña Fabiola died in 2014, and contrastingly to her husband's, there were no British nor Monegasque delegates, which drew flak from international press.
