The Blight
To Talbot causing his mind to grow is the most important thing. He is, after all, at the pinnacle of scientific progress. People might not understand his creation, they might fear it, but that just shows its greatness. With all of his researchers having been sacrificed for the work, Talbot could only rely on himself. As such, it seemed obvious what needed to be done. He needed to apply the serum to his brain.
He had been giving himself the serum for some time, and as a result he’d become quite the voluptuous gentleman… as he saw it. Others had begun to refer to him as an obese hog. Regardless, now he needed to change the injection site - from his limbs into his temples. He felt the effects before he saw them, a surge of power flowing through his body. He felt his eyes burn at first as they glowed a sickly orange but the pain faded. More importantly his other senses heightened intensely, his sense of hearing, sight, and touch all become almost supernaturally strong. He could feel the vibrations in the ground beneath him when people approached, and hear conversations from hundreds of yards away as clearly as if they were stood beside him. As he continued to administer it his head grew fat, in fact so much so that it soon began to appear as bloated as his breasts and gut.
Of course thanks to the serum he was still able to get to his feet and work. Others avoided him seeing the beastly scientist whose sweat glowed orange, stuffing his mouth with food and his temples with his serum… which he had begun to fatten up with lard of course. A self indulgent addition but he felt his expansive size caused the serum to be more effective, which caused his brain to grow even fatter. His temples began to pulse with veins and wrinkles becoming visible through his skin as the organ became more and more soaked in adipose.
The Unknown
Every single incarnation of the Unknown is not the Unknown itself. It is a fraction of something much bigger, the Great Unknown you could say. Or perhaps the Unknown Nest. Specifics are not entirely clear, but the reason for the Unknown to be able to shed its skin is quite simple. It is a small portion of a larger whole in itself. Deep inside the Entity’s realm lies an enormous bloated beast of adipose and organ tissue, a distorted bent creature that easily ways thousands of pounds in itself. Its favourite way to pass the time was to rip off pieces of its own fat and create what it referred to as its children.
Each child is as loved as the last, each one looks slightly different as the Great Unknown is not entirely sure what other beings look like. They crawl over their creator’s body in delight, happy to interact with it and each other. Strangely, each ones birth does not make the Great Unknown smaller. On the contrary, it is almost like their actions, when they feed on the survivors the Entity has collected… it seems to be the Great Unknown that grows rather than its children. Normally the way it feeds is its children will gather organs from survivors and desperately and excitedly climb up their parent. They enjoy watching it devour their trophies. This of course results in the Great Unknown’s enormous stomach and adipose ridden limbs growing. However, its weight never lessens no matter how many children it creates, in fact when it desires it large growths seem to appear for the purpose of creating another. As well as, a strange change occurring to the Great Unknown’s head.
For every single creation the Great Unknown has formed, it itself had to have a mind or sentience and with every brain that grew another developed within its progenitor. Every single bulge that swelled on the Great Unknown mountainous body, another matched it on its cranium. Over time its brain began to grow exponentially, a massive bloated thing that grew through the skin and bone that held the Great Unknown’s head together. Despite the wrinkly, bulging, pulsing brain matter that poured out as it grew fatter however, it seemed to function perfectly well - even with each addition to the Unknown nest.
The Singularity
Of course this was the end result, now that HUX-A7-13 had gotten here it seemed obvious that this was the only true, perfect outcome. The most important part of the human body was the brain, the larger the brain was the better. The more clones he had to care for him (before they were harvested and fed to him), the larger he could become. It was surprisingly straight forward to manage such a feat, Gabriel, his favourite, was always so devoted. He may have been a purely organic being, but HUX had grown oddly fond of him. He always looked so delighted when he introduced another being - organic or otherwise - to the hive mind. And all it had taken was six reprogramming sessions.
HUX-A7-13’s body had become more than simply a ‘body’. The ever growing result had become a whole community in itself. The core was his brain - he did have a humanoid face at the centre in order to attach a feeding tube to it and so that HUX could see and hear. None of the other sections of his brain got such a privilege but then HUX had to be in control of the entire thing. The feeding tube was where the organic matter - primarily the harvested brains of his subjects mixed with their other organs - was distributed into HUX. As a result, his centre, his main source of mass had become a gigantic, ever growing brain. It swelled with fat, constantly pulsing and rippling. The more it grew, the further sentience HUX gained. He could now control fifty seven robotic components individually, essentially resulting in his adipose soaked brain being almost sixty different beings in one.
At several points Gabriel had become horrified and disgusted by the process, but reprogramming was getting easier these days. Now, he was becoming fascinated and constantly coming up with new, brilliant ways to expand HUX and increase his growth. Every now and then he saw the mass of organic beings that had been crushed into paste and it sent him into an extreme panic. It would drive him mad, but HUX knew how to calm him when it did. It simply meant he needed to erase his memory and replace it with something new, something more palatable.
