This crown was made for Helene Stanley to wear as the live-action reference for Princess Aurora for Walt Disney’s 1959 film 𝑺𝒍𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒖𝒕𝒚. Helene was hired in 1954, and Alice Estes was asked to create her Briar Rose gown, thus Alice is the most likely candidate for who designed the crown.
The piece went on to be used on one of the Mousketeers – Annette Funicello as Ozma – in the 1957 Fourth Anniversary Show, where they sang 𝑹𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒃𝒐𝒘 𝑹𝒐𝒂𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑶𝒛, part of a never-realized project for 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝑶𝒛.

Based on The Reluctant Bride 1866 by Auguste Toulmouche✨ a friend of mine suggested this prompt, and really popped off with this concept. The saddest part sleeping beauty is when her godmother‘s take her to the castle and prepare her to be a princess. They try to reassure her but she has just been stripped of her identity and agency. She never wanted to be a princess. So I have Flora, giving her a reassuring kiss on the forehead, Fauna imagining out loud what it would be like to be a princess, and Merryweather is the only one who actually sees Briar Rose’s sorrows and inner turmoil. I also added another master copy as a tapestry, (an illustration of Maleficent by Eyvind Earle) and it hangs quite literally over Aurora and adds an extra layer of foreboding.🖤 I stayed up till four in the morning working on this.🤠😂 It took me 13 hours total to finish it.
BECAUSE WHY IN SWEET HELL DO YOU LOOK SO HANDSOME?!
ALSO SIR! YOU DON'T NEED TO BITE THAT CHOCOLATE LIKE THAT!
FUCK! OH MY DAYS! I CAN HARDLY BREATHE WITH HOW PRETTY YOU ARE!
Bonus BriarRose below
Rosalie: Okay, got the camera ready!
Malleus: What type of pose would you like me to do?
Rosalie: Oh anything's fine, Hornton. Just do whatever feels natural to you. Not the first time I caught people biting into chocolate or the other sweets here.
(Malleus first does the pose without the chocolate in his mouth)
Malleus: How about this?
Rosalie: Sure! Whatever makes you comfortable, Hornton! Alright now... Focusing... Okay, 3... 2...
(In a split second Malleus put the first chocolate in his mouth, holding it with his teeth before he grabs the other and gives that same smile in the camera)
Rosalie: 1. Smile!
(Camera shutters)
(When Rosalie goes to check the photo, she did a double take as Malleus happily eats the chocolate. Her face turning a brighter shade of red by the minute)
Malleus: How did the photo turn out?
(Rosalie shyly turns the camera)
Malleus: The photograph turned out well! Your work in the art has improved significantly, if I do say so myself. Hm? Why so quiet?
Rosalie: You did that on purpose didn't you? Putting the bloody piece of chocolate in your mouth.

It's time to conclude this season 4 with a doll license that its fans ardently miss: "Ever After High"!
For Raven, the appeal of her redesign lay in contrasting her with Apple White. That's why I straightened and slightly shortened her hair.
I wanted to give her Legacy Day line a bit of a wedding dress feel, because that's an essential aspect of the happiness promised by her destiny.
I wanted to play on the non-conformist side of Wonderland by giving Madeline's outfit a slightly non-binary feel. I'm not claiming to have mastered the codes associated with this gender identity, and I apologize if I misuse them, but I think it would be a good basis for a character like Madeline.
I wanted to give Briar's everyday outfit a slightly sportier look. But I was afraid of straying too far from the character, so I tried to find a compromise. I also cut her hair because, in my mind, it will have plenty of time to grow while she sleeps. For her Legacy Day Line, I was partly trying to give it a bit of a dressing gown feel.
Again, I changed her hairstyle because I think Ashlynn's original one is a bit too wild. I decided to do something humble yet elegant, and distinctive enough to set her apart from the other girls. For her Legacy Day line, I again opted for a simple but well-executed style, enhanced with small touches of yellow-orange. It might sound silly, but I think making the character obsessed with shoes just because she's Cinderella's daughter is a bit of a cheap characterization.
in the vein of beautiful and stunning charlotte ships i would like to propose charlotte x charla because dorothy is NOT the only female magic knights captain kissing her elf, we're going two for two.
now, charla and charlotte have not interacted but we know that they are both incredibly driven, intelligent and powerful individuals. charlotte is a lot more dramatic than her elf counterpart but charla could play a very nice balance to that. that and charla can cook while charlotte is unable to lol. i also think charla should be allowed to let loose sometimes! she's a little straightlaced, and some time with charlotte would definetly help her out :}
also i just KNOW that they spar for fun and profit. what is hotter than one woman with a sword made of roses? TWO WOMEN WITH ROSE SWORDS. charlotte definetly needs a sparring equal, and because most of the magic knights dont use weapons in their spells like she does, charla is a perfect fit!
in conclusion: WHY KISS THE STUPID MAN THING WHEN YOU CAN KISS YOUR ELF???
Thank you for submitting propaganda for: Briar²/Briarrose!
