The moon was high, as it often was with the assassin done her work. Westfall was quiet save for the crickets chirping and wolves howling. Though, all these sounds were natural and they gave Sable a good peace of mind after a particularly hard assignment.
A huff of air was given as she stepped out of the small, dilapidated cabin and into the open air. She rubbed her bandaged arm with a wince, having been burned with fel fire. Her target had given up quite a fight, a warlock she was to eliminate who was suspected to have ties with the Burning Legion.
Normally she would do assignments alone, catching rats or corrupted officials that threatened the secrets of the Uncrowned, but not this time. This time she worked with three others. Three others, however, she had worked with before, and worked with them well. She even considered them friends, as they often sat among those dark walls and shared more than one drink after a particularly taxing assignment like this one.
She had always been on top of her game too, but that was also different this time. She felt weak, dizzy and a little nauseated by the blood due to her pregnancy and it nearly costed all of them their lives. She didn't think she would have to worry about leaving these people alone either, as she had - taking a moment's rest as she was, and had to before earlier in the day while tracking the target down.
She didn't think these people would betray her. But, that's what she gets for not thinking.
Upon lighting her cigarette, her golden eyes moved to stare at the coastline of Westfall, watching the waves reflected the white light upon them. This always gave her peace, no matter what happened. She was completely distracted and it wasn't like her. She didn't hear the soft footfalls near her until she felt the sting of something within the side of her neck. And then all was black.
Groggily she tried to wake up, unsure of how much time had passed. Burning.. She felt burning around her. No, not around her. -Within- her. She could hear muffled voices as her eyes tried to gather focus, and her body tried to move.
Why can't I move?! she thought in panic to herself, and only after a moment of struggle she felt the cold iron around her ankles and wrists, as well as the cold steel beneath her. She was on -her- table. And finally a familiar voice wrang out through the air, though most of it was muffled, broken up.
"Keep her..... She's no use...." her father spat out hatefully to whomever was performing this procedure upon her. The burning within her womb continued and something felt warm between her thighs and the heavy stench of blood filled the air. It was then she knew -exactly- what was happening.
Adrenaline kicked in full swing and she began to outright struggle. Due to her training as an Uncrowned agent, toxin immunity was apart of it. She wondered exactly how much they had to use to knock her out, to get her here. She didn't want to think of it at all. She screamed, though she couldn't form her own words as she bucked against her restraints to try and free herself.
She felt another burning pain as her cruel captors were taking away the life she had sworn to herself to protect. She felt her heart break in a way she thought she could never experience. It was wholly shattered, and nothing else in the world mattered to her at that moment but that feeling of loss, it was consuming her like a wildfire. Empty was her womb now.
She felt hands as she struggled, but couldn't make out faces, nor voices but that of Eustice Beaumonte, her father. He continually shouted orders she couldn't make sense of, the mocha skinned assassin becoming harder to hold down as more of the toxins wore off.
How long they let her fight before another sting was felt in her neck was beyond her. In those moments she couldn't perceive time. Betrayal, loss, and the lethargy of anesthetic were the only things she could focus on, and mostly the latter.
She had no idea how long she had been out, or what they had exactly done to her to kill the life within her by the time she awoke. But she knew it was done and she could do nothing but scream in her mind. She was too weak to do so outwardly.
Her eyes fluttered open once more, and she could feel softness around her, the smell of her atmosphere clean. As the room came into focus she first looked down at herself. There was no blood on her and she wore a simple white gown and was covered up by a thick blanket upon a bed. -Her- bed, when she stayed within Uncrowned Headquarters.
Her father sat at her bedside, reading over last week's edition of the Royal Courier, not speaking a word. He simply flipped through the pages with a stern stare. Finally though, he looked over, giving his daughter a once over, though kept his expression the same. "Had to be done, Sable. It was either that or kill you. And I don't think you're ready to die, and you're still needed here." he spoke out in a hard and unfeeling voice, one that didn't bother with even trying to pretend he gave a shit about her.
The woman didn't reply to him, she just stared at him a moment and turned her head away. She felt tears well in her eyes as they began to roll down her face. She knew at that very moment she'd never be given freedom or happiness as long as this man was alive. She knew in that -instant- she had to stay on course more than ever. It was time to get back on track. This man had to die, and she had to be the one to make that happen.
So it was in that moment of clarity that she decided a personal life was not an option, and it was soon pushed out of her mind. She couldn't think about those losses right now, she couldn't break down. She would keep her cover job for the Ludlows, but everything else she simply threw away.
Her mission was clear, and she aimed to get it done.

In an assassin’s life this motto needs to be used a bit I think.
“Crocodiles are easy. They try to kill and eat you. People are harder. Sometimes they pretend to be your friend first.”

Forever Lost
So, here’s how I see it personally: Once you lose me, you’ll lose me forever. It’s like when someone breaks my trust or messes up a connection we had, it’s really tough to go back to how things were. It’s kinda like that favorite old pair of jeans I had. You know, the ones that fit just right and were so comfy? Well, imagine if I accidentally spilled paint all over them – no matter…
