This quote, absolutely breaks me down. Reading stuff like that, it brings back memories. My parents have gone through child loss (sure my brother was nineteen and not four like in the fic) but the same sentiments remain. You want to hurt whatever took your child from you. In my case, my dad wanted to do everything possible to destroy the tree that took my brothers life. And still every time I drive down that stretch of road, I feel anger just looking at innocent trees (and it's been twelve years). There's a reason I get so vehemently angry when I even consider the legalizing of marijuana because that's what my brother was high on when he made the decision to not buckle his seatbelt and crashed into a tree on a road that had a speed limit of 45. I've wanted to take his place. All the emotions in this fic. My family has been there because life shouldn't be ended too soon.
