He curls in on himself further, willing himself to disappear once more. But Bruce comes to a stop right next to him, and holds out a gloved hand.

He hesitates, but something in Thor compels him to take it. Some small part of him, yearning for human contact, for friendship, for salvation, reaches out with aching bones, and holds onto Bruce’s hand like it’s a lifeline.

The Norns scream their protest in his head, and Thor wishes he could draw back, but it’s too late for that now. Bruce draws him in gently, wrapping him in a large hug. The suit gives a little, oddly pillow-like, softer than anything he’s let himself feel in a long time.

 Fuck. Fuck. He wraps his arms around Bruce, his body convulsing in a sob that not even he can hear.

19, To Choose You (Stukony) - Bucky had to admit, the scene playing out before him was adorable. 

18, Didn’t Know I Was Lost (Obikin) - Anakin feels his face fall, his heart ache and the back of his eyes begin to burn in the telltale way they do just before he starts crying. 

17, Where Are My Morning Cuddles? (Stony) - It’s been a quiet few days, since they got back — or out of, is maybe the more apt term — from the other dimension or reality of them being villains and Steve can’t help but be glad for them.

16, Night Time Swim (Stony) - Steve smiles as he watches Tony as he sheds the button up he’d stolen from Steve months back and his linen pants before walking gingerly into the ocean naked. 

15, Your Love To Give (Stony, 3490) - Steve and Toni were sitting side by side — her outside of her armor, with it standing guard over them and him half out of his own — eating hotdogs as they watch Jan, Hank and Hawkeye argue back and forth with SHIELD about yet another one of SHIELD’s supposed prisoners getting loose. 

14, I Hear The Snow Bells (BruceThor) -  Bruce laughs as he reaches out to swipe the streak of flour from Thor’s cheek gently with his thumb.

13, With Your Tender Touch (Depa/Luminara) -  It’s early morning, more twilight hours than true morning as Depa makes her way to the Room of a Thousand Fountains for a few hours of quiet meditation.

12, What Did You Just Call Me? (BruceThor) -  Bruce gasps, eyes squeezed shut as he tries desperately to get his breath, his heart beating wildly out control.

11, The Way You Look At Me (BruceThor) -  Bruce swallows as he tries to keep himself as still as possible as the blond giant of a man comes sauntering over to him, a gleaming axe resting on his shoulder with a hand loosely wrapped around the leather wrapped end.

10, Take It All Way From Me (ReyRose) -  Rey swallows thickly, as she watches the way Rose stands at the foot of their bed for a moment.

9, Today Of All Days (Caleb & Depa, Depa/Mace) -  Frowning when she hears the doors to her apartment chime as they open, Depa just barely turns her head to see her Padawan, tall and lanky as he now is, she watches as the nearly twenty year old comes blundering into her room.

8, Fun Time For Parents (Kanera) -  It takes Kanan a moment, his eyes flickering between where Hera stands at the top of the ramp, and to where Zeb and Ezra are disembarking from the Ghost, before he asks her, “How do you expect them to find meiloorun on Lothal?”

7, On Your Knees, I Got You Beggin’ (Kanera) -  Stepping out of the fresher, Hera lets out a pleased noise to see Kanan where she’d left him bound to the bed.

6, Bad Days, Good Days (Gen: Rex, Hera, Sabine; past Kanera) -  It’s quiet that Hera wakes too.

5, Can You Feel The Hunger? (Ahsoka/Sabine) -  When they'd started this earlier, Ahsoka had only laid down one rule, that Sabine was to be still as Ashoka explored her body with her mouth, with her fingers, with the force.

4, To Wrap You Up In Love, To Keep You Safe (Gen: Hera, Jacen, Sabine) -  It starts when Jacen is all of a few months old, this tradition of theirs that is, that he and Sabine share.

3, We Go March On (Kanera) - “Karabast!” Zeb snarls out, seeing Hera go tumbling against the table she'd been passing, her drink spilling out across the grimy floor.   

2, Down In My Soul, Gripping My Bones (AhsokaSabine) -  Ahsoka doesn’t give herself much time to think about it, to debate or talk herself out of her actions, before she’s shoving Sabine up against the wall.

1, The Day That Never Was (Gen: Depa & Kanan) -  Kanan moves to take a seat on top of the crates, watching the way that Sabine teaches Jacen how to avoid being caught by Zeb.

Quiet.

Calm.

Peacefulness.

That’s what his coworkers and friends had ganged up on him and said, before badgering him into taking the vacation. Have one tiny, tiny little work induced rage attack, and suddenly all of his workaholic friends have a minor freak out about his well being. Okay, Bruce amends, it’d been more than one rage attack — but come on, seriously, who wouldn’t have hit Mr. Ross when he’d tried to sink Bruce’s department because the man for some reason hated Bruce.

You need more sunlight, Helen had suggested, her face twisted into a concerned frown as she watched him sway where he stood, hands shaking as he reached towards the near empty coffee pot.

You need to stare at something else for a week or two or you’ll melt your brain, Jane mentioned — Bruce would like to point out what a hypocrite she is, considering Jane only took time off if Darcy laid across her long enough for Jane to pass out.

You should get laid, take a little me time, Tony adds with a wiggle of his brow and a cheeky grin curling at his lips.

Of course he doesn’t think they quite meant it like this, Bruce muses with a smile as he watches the way Thor looks utterly fascinated by the way blender works. Yeah, they probably hadn’t meant for him to go on vacation — to one of Tony’s families vacation homes in Europe — and to almost immediately be rescued by a merman of all creatures.

Lesson learned though, no falling asleep reading on a deck, if it didn't have proper railings to keep people like him, who tossed and turned and moved around in their sleep.

But it had all worked out, in the end, he thinks as he curls his toes into the warmed wood of the deck. Grinning, Bruce lets his gaze fall onto Thor, and thinks that his friends probably hadn't meant for this to happen.

“Friend Bruce,” Thor nearly bellows out, eyes wide and shining with excitement, lips stretched into a wide awed grin. He heaves himself up onto the deck with the handrails of the step ladder, laying his torso along the warmed wood as he reaches towards the machine. “Do you see this? Did you?”

Chuckling softly, he gives a nod, and settles back. Lets himself enjoy the sun, the cool breeze, the time to do nothing but sit about and do nothing. To do nothing but let his gaze trace along the flexing muscles of Thor’s bare arms. Watch the way the muscles of his back shift as he unplugs the blender and turns it this way and that, the way his tail — covered in shiny blue, near electric in the way they shine in the water — twists and shifts where it’s still swaying in the water.

Swallowing, Bruce feels his cheeks heat as he snaps his gaze up, staring at the back of Thor’s head.

Where it was safe to look.

“Bruce, Bruce,” Thor calls, twisting to grin at him before nodding at the machine held carefully in his grip — they’d learned early on, Thor was unusually strong compared to humans. “Come, explain how this works to me.”

Nodding, Bruce pushes himself out the deck chair he’d been lounging in, and makes his way over. Because it’s not like he could say no to Thor, not with how his days were numbered before he had to head back to his life in New York.

Unless…. he decided to stay.

3. Lights.

“Honey, just because Tony went all out on the lights doesn’t mean you have to get into another one of your pissing contests. You don’t have to try to outdo him, our house isn’t big enough for all these lights!”

His boyfriend was currently on the roof wrestling with a light up Santa-and-reindeer set that you set up on your roof. The reindeer weren’t co-operating.

“You’re going to fall.” Bruce said crossing his arms, he wasn’t sure if he was more worried or annoyed at this point.

“You got to do the inside of the house, let me do this,” Thor called out warmly while wrestling a light-up Rudolph into position. “And also, I can fly so I’ll be fi-“ as if on cue, Thor stepped backwards, and a string of lights wrapped around his ankle. Spooked, he jumped to leap off the roof but he was caught and ended up stumbling awkwardly, landing in a heap with a groan next to Bruce on the ground, his leg still caught in the lights looped around his leg like a bear trap, he’d managed to topple several of the reindeer on the roof while he was at it as well.

“Oh my god!  Honey are you okay?” Bruce leaned down, untangled the lights, and tenderly turned his boyfriend on his back. Thor looked stunned but Bruce couldn’t see any serious signs of injury. Thor had fallen way further before than a two-story house.

Thor coughed, and snow fell from his beard. He looked at Bruce with his clear blue eyes and sighed. “You can’t tell Tony about this.”

Bruce smiled, both relieved his boyfriend was okay, and frustrated that he hadn’t listened in the first place.

“Come inside, I’ll fix you up. Then maybe you can help me put the star on top of the tree because I’m too short.

Inside their modest home Bruce had created such a warm, bright, and homely feeling with his decorating skills. He liked shopping at vintage stores for ornaments and house decorations. He got their stockings from a woman in New Asgard who hand sowed them.

Sitting on the table, in front of a fresh tree covered in beautiful rustic ornaments, was a glass blown golden star.

Thor looked around and smiled at his partners creativity and interior design talent. He limped over to the table and gently placed the star on top of the tree.
