Mary kept a journal. Well, actually, Mary kept two. But specifically, she kept a new journal for every visit to a medical professional she’d had in the last two months. Thus far, there had been very little success. Over the years, Mary’s ability to pick up on verbal and written fluff had grown -- one of the perks and pitfalls of being an English teacher -- and the amount of nothingness she’d received for the amount of medical verbosity? It was almost tragic.
In any case, this next visit was one that Mary was wary of. Of course, she wanted to keep hope. But she’d never heard of this kind of medical practitioner. Usually, Mary knew at least the names of doctors in the area... a consequence of living in the same town or so long. But this doctor... was new. And, as well, a woman... Mary had only seen male doctors these past few months, and perhaps the fact that Dr Lipson was a woman was at least a small hope in itself? Carefully, Mary walked up towards the entrance -- knocked lightly at the door. Was there supposed to be a receptionist? Mary came early in case she was told to fill out paperwork... Was it rude to peek around the corner in search of help? “Hello? It’s-- It’s Mary Wardwell? I think... I have an appointment with a Dr. Lipson soon?”

eleanor fully embraces her femininity. her clothes are very figure-hugging, playful and romantic. at the same time, she’s always wearing high-necked clothes. the playful-romantic style is very much shown through the bows, loops, and frills. her attire appears to be flawless, giving her an aura of authority and elegance. she is being rather sexual in a classy way, not showing off any skin but playing with figure-hugging clothes; it radiates a vibe of pride and confidence. judging by her clothes, one would assume elle is a very confident woman who knows what she wants, who is very authoritative and someone who people would look up to. however, clothes speak through colors a lot so picking the very prominent ones (white, black, green, red, yellow) we’ll see how much of that vibe might actually be true.
WHITE: in general, white is the color of perfection, purity, innocence, wholeness and completion. it’s a color of new beginnings, like a blank canvas. white is also a very neutral color, also representing equality, independence, as well as implying fairness and impartiality as it goes with everything. however, white can also be viewed as cold, isolating and empty. elle usually seems to pair white with something else, another strong color to weaken it. speaking about that, let’s take this line about the meaning of white: “Too much white can cause feelings of isolation and emptiness; it can be too pristine and immaculate, making you feel as though you can't make a move for fear of upsetting it or creating a mess.” regarding elle and the fact that she usually pairs it with a different color, this could mean she is trying to hide this meaning, the feeling of isolation and emptiness. she might be experiencing it but won’t let anyone see. key words i’d use for elle: cleanliness, equality, simplicity, immaculate/neat, empty, isolated, cautious, distant, critical and stark.
BLACK: the color black relates to the hidden, the secretive and the unknown, and as a result it creates an air of mystery. it gives protection from external emotional stress. black is also the absorption of all color and the absence of light, which is why it relates to the hidden. things like feelings, fears and insecurities can easily be hidden. black is one of the hardest colors to read. it can easily be read as a negative thing. however, the color black absorbs negativity and serves as protection from harm and negativity. People who like black may be conventional, conservative and serious, or they may think of themselves as being sophisticated or very dignified. interestingly enough, black is often associated with sexiness and seduction. It can also imply submission to another (including a sexual partner). this might apply to elle rather well, being submissive, if we recall how black can hide secrets. so it wouldn’t be unlikely to assume elle is hiding the fact that she is a rather submissive person. key words i’d use for elle: protection, comfort, formal, mysterious, seductive, depressing, pessimistic, secretive, withholding. negativity.
GREEN: in general, green stands for balance and harmony. it is the color of growth, spring, renewal and rebirth. green can also be viewed as a sanctuary; a way to run from the stress of life. while it is usually a very positive color, it can also relate to being judgemental and over-cautious as well as being possessive and materialistic (both regarding people and things). regarding elle, and taking previous assumptions into consideration, i would believe green serves as a sanctuary above anything else. that it is a color she can hide behind, to hide her inner stress. believing elle is feeling rather isolated and empty it would be easy to assume she is a rather possessive person as well; maybe out of fear of losing. key words i’d use for elle: dependability, practical, compassionate, loyal, adaptable, a need to belong, possessive, selfish, over-cautious.
RED: on the spectrum, red is a warm color and usually associated with positive attributes. it is connected to our most physical needs. red is often mistaken to represent love while in reality, it relates more to sexuality and lust. now, this goes along with the meaning of the color black and what it means regarding elle. the playful-romantic style of eleanor is highly underlined by the meaning of sexuality, it serves her very feminine appearance. red, however, also relates to anger and aggression which, in her case, could be connected to suppressing certain aspects of herself, or rather keeping things hidden as she feels she cannot open up to others. it is said that “being surrounded by too much of the color red can cause us to become irritated, agitated and ultimately angry. Too little and we become cautious, manipulative and fearful”, which is shown by the way elle pairs the color red with different colors. she usually finds a way to balance between being too much and being too little. it is usually enough to place the focus on the sexual aspect of the color. key words i’d use for elle: stimulating, attention-getting, sexual, exciting, passionate, fearful, rebellious, obstinate.
YELLOW: the color yellow relates to acquired knowledge and is connected to the left (logic) side of the brain. wearing the color yellow means you’re more of a practical thinker rather than a dreamer. it’s logic over imagination. now, yellow, as a bright color, is usually connected to positive things and can be seen as the best color to create enthusiasm for life and can awaken greater confidence and optimism. it can, however, be also anxiety producing as it is such a consuming and fast color. yellow depends on itself, it isn’t easy to pair it with other colors. for that reason, speaking about people, it can be assumed that people who wear yellow prefer to not get emotionally involved. elle doesn’t seem to wear yellow a lot so i’d believe she suffers from anxiety. not wearing yellow that often means less of a risk to produce it (if we go by the assumption that yellow produces anxiety). i would also assume that elle doesn’t want to surround herself with the illusion of optimism, and i’d think she is more of a realist and pessimist. key words i’d use for elle: academic, analytic, wisdom, logic, impatient, impulsive, pessimistic, inferiority complex.
Glinda pawed at Stella's sleeping face, gently batting at her cheek to wake her. "Hey, Stells. Hey!" She gave her another nudge. "What's your opinion on orphaned baby squirrels?" There definitely was no squeaking coming from Stella's opened sock drawer.
“What are you waking me up for it’s early I don’t want-“
Stella turns heavily onto her side, pulling the blanket up to cover her head. She’s been out and about way too late last night, gone way overboard on certain things her parents would be bitterly disappointed about if they ever were to find out. There’s a gross taste in her mouth, a dull headache just behind her eyes, and now there’s Glin who won’t stop pawing at her face. Stella sits up, squinting in the morning light, looking first at Glin, then at her drawers, then back at Glin once more.
“What did you do? Where’s their mum? Don’t tell me you ate her!”
“Hm? What?” Zelda looked back up, having gone back to the paperwork sitting in her lap. Her face scrunched in confusion before Eleanor’s words caught up to her thoughts, resulting in a scoff. “No. Rather one of Hilda’s familiars. I keep finding them just about everywhere, even in my office. Little stowaways,” she remarked with a quick grimace. Tossing the stack of papers onto the nearest surface, Zelda mirrors Elle’s stance, crossing her own legs and staring back expectantly.
