In the form, there will also be a question that will determine the type of Big Bang Challenge we are going to use this year, whether it's traditional bang or a reverse bang! THE SIGN UPS FOR BUNGOU STRAY DOGS BIG BANG 2020 ARE NOW OPEN!!!
The Bungou Stray Dogs Big Bang is a big bang challenge event where artists and writers will be collaborating to create more content for the fandom! BSDBB2020 accepts two types of entries that will be divided into two teams (categories): 1.) Participants who want to create pieces with the romantic pairing of Dazai and Chuuya as their main focus are welcome to join the Soukoku Team, and 2.) Participants who want to create pieces with non-romatic pairings, such as platonic relationships and character centric, as their main focus are welcome to join the General Team.
According to the result of the interest check, BSDBB2020 will be running another traditional bang! To know more about how does a traditional bang work, you can refer to our FAQ question number 1.

BSDBB2020 also comes with a theme that the participants can use as an inspiration or some kind of prompt for their pieces. The theme for this year is: Switch/Role Swap (decided by the Port Mafia guild for winning 2019’s Guild War)! You can interpret the theme as you’d like, whether it’s a switch between characters’ abilities, or swapping roles between organizations—go let your imagination be wild! Using the theme for your pieces wont be mandatory! You are welcome to do your own thing!
Now, for the sign ups: here are the roles you can register as:
1. Writer: As a writer, you will be writing a fic that is a minimum of 8k words during the creation and posting period. After sign ups close, you will be asked to submit a summary of your fic that artists will choose from. If you choose to be assigned a beta, you will also submit a form about what you are looking for in a beta. You will then be paired up with an artist who will be creating art for your fic, and assigned a beta, if applicable.

2. Artist: As an artist, after summary submissions close, you will choose your top 5 fic summaries and you will be paired up with a writer on a first-come-first-serve basis. You will have until the posting date of your writer to create at least one fully completed piece of art for their fic.

3. Beta: As a beta, you will be helping writers with proofreading their fic, as well as acting as a sort of cheerleader for your writer! After summary submissions close, you will choose your top 5 fic summaries from a list of writers that have requested to be assigned a beta and you will be paired up with a writer on a first-come-first-serve basis.

4. Pinch Hitter: As a pinch hitter, you will take the place of any writers/artists who drop out of the event and will, if the previous person permits, continue their piece, or complete a new piece, whichever is probable. You will have priority over posting dates and will be allowed longer extensions to finish your work. We will be mentioning you in your private channels (for those joining the server) and sending you an email if we need your help.

A Special Announcement to Start off the New Year
With the start of the New Year, it’s also time for some exciting news. We’d like to thank everyone who had made Soukoku Big Bang possible. Last year wouldn’t have been as successful without each and everyone of you. We have some exciting plans coming up for 2020.
Soukoku Big Bang will be changing to Bungou Stray Dogs Big Bang. With this name change, we are also expanding the event! We will be opening the bang to general fics for all of the characters involved and keep the section for romantic soukoku fics. With this expansion, it means we will be looking for new mods to help out so please keep an eye out for mod applications.
Not only are we changing the bang to include more characters, but we will also be adding a calendar on both our Tumblr page and our discord server. We will keep this calendar up to date with all BSD Fandom events that we learn about. If you have an event you want to have added, just send us a message to let us know about it and we will be happy to add it in. We will be having an interest check soon to determine if we should host a traditional bang or a reverse bang. Once we have it ready, we will release it in the Discord server, on Tumblr, and on Twitter.
