Hoseok with number 3 and 14 pleaseeee
a/n: here you go babe hope you love 💕its a long one :) also ft. namjoon
You place your chin on the palm of your hand and stare straight out the window in front of the dining room table. There’s two cute little squirrels playing around chasing each other, you try to smile but it feels nearly impossible. The house felt quiet and empty but there was an overwhelming feeling of tension building up.
The bright sunny day contrast to the dark silent house you’re currently sat in. It wasn’t your home but over time it started to become it. You back away from your own hand and sit up straight, there’s a light rustling off in the distance, you figured it must be your best friend, Hoseok. There’s a soft yawn heard and you try your best to gather your emotions and act like you were fine.
The night before had been filled with awkward conversations and a few glasses of wine. A while back you finally got the balls to confess your feeling to Hoseok; it was strange but he took it as a joke. He laughed it off and acted as if you didn’t pour your heart out to him. From that day he started to change, at first was for the better and it gave you hope that maybe he felt the same way…. But that soon changed after countless nights of him drunk calling you telling you about his recent hookups, about how he didn’t enjoy them because he felt nothing.
One the rare occasion, he’d invite you out with him and his friends. It would always be fun until the end of the night when he was the drunkest of all and would get mad if you got too close to any of his friends. That was just a few weeks ago, now it’s moved to the point where even sober him is playing with your feelings. He started inviting you over at night and asking you to sleep over, or cuddle with him; in this quiet moment he’d tell you how special you are to him… and then the next night he’d go off and hookup with someone else.
Last night, however, things changed. He brought up your confession and asked if it was real or just a joke. You asked him why it would even be a joke, there was silence. You downed the glass of wine in your hand and reached out to pour some more, he stopped you and said he’d do it. He tried to explain why he thought it was a joke but his explanations fell flat, and had no substance to them, they just didn’t make sense. The more wine you drank, the worse the conversation got, and he admitted that he wouldn’t ever feel those feelings for you, even if he tried. But somehow from those words to the point where you were about to leave, he leaned in and kissed you. You tried to stop him, not wanting your heart to break even more, but there was no use; he didn’t listen and your heart shattered as his lips touched yours.
Looking down at your hands, you wondered why you were still in his house, why did it feel like you couldn’t leave? The front door was just a few steps away. He had your heart in the palm of his hands, and he knew, but still chose to squeeze it into dust. Best friend? That’s what you called him? What a joke.
The sound of feet walking against the wood floor made you panic. You shouldn’t be here. You should leave. You felt stuck to the chair, unable to move from the seat to walk out the front door and allow yourself to finally take a deep breath of fresh air.
“Hey,” his voice was hoarse.
“Hi,” your voice was barely audible.
“I never expected wine to give me such a killer headache. You need medicine?”
“No. I didn’t really wake up with much of a headache.”
The squirrels were gone and so were the warm sun rays, they were covered with two dark gloomy clouds, now fully representing the atmosphere inside the house.
“You-” “So-” you both speak at the same time.
“You go first,” he smiled.
“I was just going to tell you I have to get going. I promised a friend I’d meet them for lunch… so I should leave,” you twirled your fingers in your lap trying to avoid his gaze so he doesn’t see right through your lie.
“Oh, um, okay that’s cool. We’ll talk later then.”
“Yeah, yeah, of course. Bye.”
You walked out his front door and look up at the sky. Hopefully it rains so it can drown out the tears that are threatening to escape your eyes. Instead you see the clouds move slightly and a small ray from the sun comes down to shine over the road you’re about to take.
You let a couple days go by and try your best to not contact Hoseok, it’s harder than you thought it’d be. You kind of expected him to leave you alone, he’s not one to constantly text you and see if you were free to hangout. He normally would just show up unannounced or text you from time to time to get food. For a best friend, he kind of sucked, but if we’re being honest the only reason he carries that title, is because he gave it to himself and you never denied it.
After a while of not responding to his calls or texts, you get a call from one of your friends, Namjoon. He was like Hoseok’s other best friend and yours as well. Namjoon knew about your feelings before you knew about them, and he was always so supportive of you. He’d always listen to your rants and never got annoyed, even if he did, it was never at you but more to Hoseok. Picking up the phone he greets you.
“So where’d you disappear to?” you can hear the smile on his face through the phone.
“A little universe where you’ll never find me.” you giggle.
“Your bed doesn’t count as another universe,” he pauses, “He told me.”
“You haven’t talked to him. He thinks your just busy.”
“What did he do this time?”
“Remember I told you that he seemed to take my feelings as a joke,” there was a slight hum and you continue, “So he asked me, if I serious and I said of course. He tried telling me, he thought it was a joke because the guys would always tell him I’m madly in love with him but he’s too blind to see it. And they’d laugh about it so he figured I was messing with him.”
“That doesn’t make sense…” he sighs, “If I was him, that would confirm everything.”
“Yeah, but at the end of the night he kissed me.”
“Kissed me.” you sigh, “The next morning, he tried to act like nothing even happened. And honestly, I just decided that I didn’t want that anymore. He’s been playing me for too long. I’m done.”
The words that came out of your mouth were hopeful but you were unsure if you’d be able to get away from him completely.
“You know what? Let’s go out Y/n. You and me haven’t had our quality time together in a while. Get ready I’ll pick you up in 20 minutes.”
“Okay Joonie, see you soon.”
“No you can’t- Why- Joon!” he began to chew his ice cream and you scrunch your nose just from the thought of it touching your teeth.
“Y/n it’s not a big deal.” he laughs.
“Ugh. That’s just wrong.”
After having lunch, you walked down the streets to a ice cream shop and decided to keep walking around talking about whatever that wasn’t Hoseok. But as the universe hates you, and clearly wants to make things harder for you, you look straight ahead and are met with a pair of familiar eyes. Your smile fades and you try to regain it by faking it but it doesn’t work. He was stopped on the sidewalk and you couldn’t tell from his face if he was upset or not. You look at Namjoon and he looks down on you almost asking with his eyes what you wanted to do. Before you could reply, Hoseok walks up to the two of you and smiles.
“What’s up guys?” His smile seems forced matching yours perfectly.
“Just having ice cream,” Joon is quick to reply.
“I see that,” he frowns and looks at you, “Why haven’t you texted me back.”
“I just, um, got really busy,” you look at down your melting ice cream
“But you made time with Namjoon.”
He knits his eyebrows together and looks at the two of you, “Oh are you guys like on a date?”
“Actually yeah,” Namjoon interrupts.
“Oh,” he glances at the both of you and his eyes land back on you, “I thought you said, your feelings for me were real.”
You look at him in disbelief. Now he had the balls to bring it up? When you were on a “date” with Namjoon?
“Okay, um. They were. But what does that have to do with this?”
“I- I mean,” he pauses, “I don’t know. I just felt like saying it.”
In the corner of your eye you see Joon’s chest rise and he takes a deep breath.
“You just felt like saying it?” he shakes his head, “You sure? Or are you jealous because Y/n isn’t pining over you while you play with her emotions?”
Your eyes widen, and you feel the need to look around and see if anybody else on the sidewalk caught that, but you were all alone.
“Joon let’s just not,” you say softly wanting to leave.
“No. He likes to call you his best friend but what kind of friend plays with his friend’s feelings?”
“You have no idea what you’re saying Namjoon,” Hoseok finally speaks up.
“I do,” he licks his ice cream and you feel the confidence radiating off his body, “I’ve heard her talk about you playing with her countless time before. I’ve also heard you talk about her many times…. You took everything as a joke.”
“You did,” your vision became blurry and tears threatened to escape and fall down to the concrete you were staring at, “Joon can we leave? I don’t want to do this anymore.”
“Of course baby,” he pulls you into his chest and you try not to squish your ice cream on his hoodie.
You both begin to walk away, still pressed against Joon’s chest, tears falling freely, and then Hoseok speaks up.
“Don’t leave,” he was quiet, “Please,” he knew he fucked up.
Pulling away, you face him, “No. I’m done Hoseok.”
