Audio Sourcing Makes me Want to Eat My Own Brain

Greetings! In case we are not acquainted, I am making a mod for Mass Effect which creates a viable romance path for Seth Green’s character and the player character. I am armed with ME3Explorer and a boundless enthusiasm for a character from a game a decade old.

If you are a Buffy fan who can provide me with audio snippets from specific scenes, episodes and timestamps in a quality I can’t get by ripping audio from streaming programs, please hit me up 

The Good News: I have spent the past couple of days soliciting the Buffy fandom for some good Seth Green lines, and I’ve found some material I can use! It’s really good stuff and I can totally see where to put the lines in conversation! The Bad News: Thanks to 90s television being 90s television, there’s ORCHESTRAL SCORES over tons of the audio lines I want, because my life is contractually obliged to be difficult as balls The Good News: If I can rip those scenes’ audio, I can separate the audio channels and the vocals may in fact be isolated to one channel in the mix The Bad News: I don’t have Buffy DVDs/BluRays and all the ones I can find are Dolby Digital 2.0 (meaning they only have left and right channels, not 5.1 surround which would stand the best chance of having isolated vocals) and also cost like £50 The Good News: All the seasons are available on Amazon Prime, which I have The Bad News: As far as I know, I can’t rip channel mixes from online streaming

The Good News: I can rip mono audio and work on it in Audacity, manually removing the frequencies that shouldn’t be there and trying to match the gain of the game’s audio

The Bad News: It’s almost guaranteed to be suboptimal and stand out against the rest of the game’s dialogue this way, also it has to be done manually pls kill me
