might not be that hot of a take but i HATE the way the new animation does faces. like the redesigns are great and the animation is so smooth and high quality but. the faces. i can't get over them

firstly, they smoothed everyone out. (exhibit a: dareth). now everyone uses the same mouth shape and animations, people don't have wrinkles or many facial marks, and the faces just look taller/longer in general due to narrower mouths (which is not how many characters looked beforehand!!!)

secondly, the expressions. the one eyebrow raised and one eye squinted are WAY overused in my opinion since a lot of people. can't even do that??? like half of everyone i've met can't move their eyebrows individually??? and also there are other ways to show confusion than just. 🤨. like it's good for certain things but it annoys me once you get past that. ESPECIALLY the eye squint one it pisses me off so bad

I'm alone in my room. It's dark outside. I hear a noise. Someone is knocking on the window. The noise doesn't stop. I decide to open the window. A man is standing in front of me. I can't make out his face, but I know he's staring at me. I can feel his gaze on me. He doesn't speak. I ask him, "What are you doing here, stranger?" He still doesn't answer me. He holds his hands out in front of me, palms open. There is a beetle in his right hand. An apple in his left hand. I hear my stomach growl. I'm hungry, so I take the apple. I eat it and he stays there. He's waiting for something in return. I give him the seeds. Then I give him the core. He leaves without saying a word. I'm alone in my room. It's dark outside. Then I see something. A black spot flying. The beetle from earlier. It lands on my desk. I grab a book, Animal Farm by George Orwell. As I'm about to kill it, it looks me straight in the eye and speaks to me. "My brother, we were born under the same stars. What right do you have to inflict cruelty on me just because I am different from you?" He tells me about his work. My stomach growls. I am hungry. He tells me about his family. I am hungry. I tear off his legs so he cannot run away. He tells me about his dreams. I am hungry. I tear off his wings so he cannot fly away. He tells me about the stars. I am hungry. So I swallow him, where he will never be able to see them again. I'm alone in the room. It's dark outside. I hear a noise outside. Someone is knocking on my window. It's the man from earlier. He holds his hands out to me, empty, lost, open. But this time I have nothing to give him. I take the scissors from my table and gouge out my eyes. If I couldn't see my own cruelty, then I no longer deserved to see the beauty of the world. I place each of my eyes in his hands. He leaves. I'm alone in my room. It's dark outside. I hear a noise. It's not coming from outside, but from inside. My inside. My ugly inside. The beetle, this little man, from earlier is talking to me. I hear him in my head. "My brother, don't blame yourself for your hunger, no one should go to bed on an empty stomach. And no one needs to see to witness the beauty of the world." So I go outside. I lie down on the grass. I turn my head toward the sky, even though I can only see darkness. But I am beneath the stars, as I was when I was born, and I hope that from where he is, he can see them too, one last time.
