My Thoughts on Killing Stalking – Chapter 24
It’s about a cake. Yes, a cake. I don’t mind it. I like cake, too. And I can get possessive over cake. That being said …
SPOILERS AHEAD! IF YOU DON’T WANT IT RUINED FOR YOU, STOP READING NOW, PRETTY PLEASE!
First things first, Sangwoo is, like usual, a mean son of a bitch. He’s in the car with Bum and he talks (pretends to talk?) to someone from Jieun’s circle, if I gather correctly. And, just like that, as one thing leads to another, Sangwoo starts talking about how Jieun didn’t like Yoon Bum and probably the guy held a grudge or something.
Sangwoo plays his little act just for the sake of enjoying Bum’s reactions. He can clearly see the guy is sweating through his pores, but he goes on and on, and even suggest Bum to take over the call and speak to the police. If I didn’t care for Bumi so much, I’d say it’s a pretty well-thought prank. Only that I don’t, really I cannot. Sangwoo, you’re such a son of a bitch, darling. And Bum still believes every word, and he’s scared shitless.
The episode is almost domestic, with Sangwoo and Bum visiting a supermarket to get something to eat. Sangwoo apparently has something to celebrate (getting Bumi to the dark side, so they could stay together forever, I bet), so he wants cake. Poor Bumi finds himself in front of the only cake in that whole supermarket (people over there should do something about supply, though), and he has to argue over it with a former classmate who is celebrating his one year anniversary with his girlfriend.
Of course, Bum cannot fight him. He’s too much of a clusterfuck for that and he’s shy anyway. Until Sangwoo appears and of course …
Because Sangwoo has no intention to let that cake go. The man wants cake, and he will have it. So they play some stupid arcade game to fight over the cake and Sangwoo shows us just how he throws a punch.
He wins, what did you think?
This chapter may look like nothing really happened, but there are actually two important points that are touched.
One – Sangwoo finds out about Bum’s uncle, when the classmate slips something about him. So he’s going to question Bum hard and it’s going to happen the next chapter, I suppose. What will transpire? Was Bum abused by the uncle? In what sense? Was it sexual or he got beaten, or both? There’s definitely a history a violence there. And, to voice again what other fans have been throwing around as suppositions … is the uncle still alive? Maybe Bum killed him? I’m not sure whether Bum is going to confess such a thing, even to Sangwoo.
Two – While Bum picks up the cake, Sangwoo goes to the pharmacy. My bet (hopefully) is on condoms and lube. Or I’m just wrong, and Sangwoo is a creepy mofo once again, and who knows what weird scary plan he is concocting again.
Chapter 24 leaves us with a thawing cake on the table and Sangwoo pressing Bum into coming clear about the uncle. Needless to say, the next seven days will go by really slowly.
