💎 How do you feel about the first fanfiction you ever wrote and posted?
💜 What pairing would you like to write but never have?
Thank you for the asks!<3
The first fanfictions I wrote date back to the 1980s & 1990s. I was writing them for class assignments, and was encouraged by teachers. I wrote in the following fandoms:
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (my first fan art was in this fandom)
-Super Mario Brothers (my first fan crafting was in this fandom)
-Star Trek:The Next Generation (my first choose your own adventure was in this fandom - it was a cyoa about Deanna and Worf hooking up before that was a reality on the show, so I’ve been rather proud on the foresight of that one)
I did not even know Tolkien stuff until I was an adult.
I think the first thing that counts as ‘posted’ was when I used to print and bind the stories in the mid-90s. I had an inspired by universe that included students at my high school and students at the local college and some teachers and it was loosely based on both Star Trek and Star Wars. I would post announcement flyers in the hallways of the school letting people know to look for the next part of what we all called ‘the story’. A group of us even recorded an audiobook of the main work in the series and distributed it on audiocassettes to other students. There is at least one known copy still out there (I do not have it; my friend Bill, the oldest friendship relationship I have, which is with the nicest human being I personally know, who once offered to pick me up in the middle of the night from a high school sleepover gone horribly wrong, but that’s a story for another time, but that is how I know that recording is at least safe from blackmail lol). I feel petty good about that fanfic. It was highly developed, with conlang and maps and illustrations and ship schematics and we even put on a community play for a revamped version of one of the stories. What was it fanfic of, exactly? It was fanfic of the lives of the people at the high school and college with a sci-fi spin.
On to pairings - something I’ve not explored but has potential is Turgon/Finrod. This has a lot to do with Turgon being the favorite character of one of my brothers, and I developed Bunniverse Turgon with his help. I don’t know if I could quite fully explore that one, but from a bits of canon standpoint, I want to, they feel very parallel to Finwe and Thingol in some ways, which I have at least touched on a bit outside of Bunniverse. I have gone as far as Finrod pining for Turgon. I think that’s as far as I will get.
The one I waffle on with OCs is Finrod/Verdev. I kind of want to go down that dark path, but also not. We shall see.
